Ah, hometown hotdogs. Hey, we're not talking. Gene's here, but they are still quite delicious and should meet all your frankfurter needs. Just remember if it doesn't have mustard on it, that creation is just impersonating a hotdog.

Walked in with my wife and kiddo excited to grab a hot dog on National Hot Dog Day. Woman behind the counter looked at us, shook her head, and turned back to what she was doing. I greeted her warmly only to wait 10 awkward seconds to her saying, "What can I get you guys?" with an impatient tone and expression. I responded that we didn't need anything and we proceeded out the door. On to other dinner plans! I'm definitely disappointed and won't be back anytime soon.

I absolutely love this place. It's been run by the same woman for years & has some of the best food in town. It's not fancy, but that is part of the appeal. When you go in, you're welcomed by name (if you're a regular, that is) & chances are good that your regular order will be remembered. Service is friendly & there isn't a better hot dog to be had anywhere.

Well I suppose the service was friendly; however, I have definitely had better hot dogs. I really would not go here again if I were looking for a hot dog. They really just weren't that good. When I think of a hometown hot dog I think of the ones I used to get when I would go to the local baseball games, with the excellent homemade chili. The chili wasn't very good. I thought perhaps this place would be similar but this place left much to be desired.
