Another 5 star visit. Fresh hot and tasty chicken. I'm going to have to go for the tuna next time. Also good, but you come in and see and smell the chicken, and gotta have it. One of Morgantown's put a smile on his best eateries. Locally owned goodness. Clean dining room and restrooms, friendly people and the owner checks up on you to make sure your visit is going well.

We ordered everything from the club to the tahuna, buffalo chicken, Philly cheesesteak and chicken and waffles. Hands down on of the best sandwiches you'll ever have. They do not cheat you on helpings either. Plenty of sandwich. Will return if we ever make it back.

Absolutely love this place! Small hole in the wall with some of the best sandwiches you'll ever eat. Always quick and friendly service. You can't go wrong with a lunch here but bring your appetite, the portions are huge!

Outstanding!! We tried this, to have something different today. This quaint streetside eatery is clean, not too noisy and the food is great!! We had sandwiches and were very happy. Packed with flavor. The staff was friendly, even though this lunch hour was hoping with a wide mix of patrons. We definitely recommend eating here and we'll be back. It is in the pricy side, with a sandwich at more than$9.00

The atmosphere here is great and the service is exelent but the food lacks a bit. During the experience I had the 'Dirty Bird' a fried chicken sandwich on a biscuit. I was slightly disappointed, everyone told me that this was the best chicken place in Morgantown but chicken was bland and the biscuit was 1/17th the size of the chicken. Proportionally speaking a disaster, but this place is very popular. Hopefully the next time I go it'll be better ;)

Without a doubt the best place to get fried chicken in the Morgantown area. The chicken is freshly fried, tasty, and crisp, and the sides are up to Southern standards of quality: mac and cheese, greens, and flaky/buttery biscuits, among others. The french fries, too, are worth ordering, and the couple of times I visited The Dirty Bird they made the fries fresh and gave an extra portion. Reasonably priced, and while they could have a better drink selection and maybe up their dessert game, it's a Morgantown must-eat.

A nice place - generous portions of fried chicken, not too greasy. Some nice sides - great garlic green beans! Not much in the way of light options, but that's not the point here. Friendly and attentive staff.

So I finally tried Dirty Bird and it was great! The staff was very friendly and the menu had more items than I thought it would. I ended up getting a classic dirty bird. Very messy to eat, but delicious none the less. I want to try the fried chicken, but 6 bucks for 2 pieces seems pricey to me. I will definitely return

Maybe i chose a mediocre night to go. I ordered the dirtybird. The chicken was cooked perfectly. My complaint is the amount of salt in the gravy. This ruined it for me. I also ordered mac and cheese. I will say that this was amazing. Perfectly creamy. Not soupy but not too stiff either.

The Rachel sandwich was HUGE and the best tasting one I've ever had. The fried chicken was very moist and tasty. The casual atmosphere was relaxed and pleasant. The wait staff was really accommodating and wanting to help. It was definitely worth getting off the interstate for.

Outstanding (thanks Brennon O.) is the only word. The fried chicken, sides and sandwiches are all great. Fried chicken is all made fresh and comes out crisp, juicy and ultra hot! Thai chili and hot sauce for dipping. The sides are literally arguably the best I've even had at a similar casual restaurant. Dirty rice! Garlic green beans! Mashed potatoes! Sandwiches are huge and messy but delicious. Everything is homemade. And staff is friendly and free refills on drinks! If I lived in Morgantown, I'd be here at least once a week...at least. They do close for about 5 weeks at the end of each summer. So if you're there between mid-July and the 3rd week in August, you're SOL! And don't just take my word for it. My company is doing a job in Morgantown and our it's our foreman's favorite place. And the fried chicken is so good he ordered only that his first 4-5 times eating there. And I went there for lunch yesterday with three other people and they all loved it too. The one guy even said he'd drive his family 2 hours from Johnstown, PA just to eat there.

One of my favorite places in Morgantown, and I've lived here for five years! Food is fresh and made to order, I cant help but steer away from the fried chicken everytime. Even though i've had other things, the chicken will always be my favorite. Sides are great, also made to order. Def a go to place if you are ever in Morgantown.

Just WOW. If you are ever in Morgantown, WV please go spend all your calories here. All of our sandwiches (see my pix) were incredible, sides, delicious. The french fries were crispy and perfect. I do NOT recommend eating anything before or after because portions are delightfully large. Staff is friendly, and for a small restaurant everything was super clean. PS: Their chicken is the freshest you can get. Just incredible!

What came first the chicken or the egg ? Well at the Dirty Bird it doesn't matter. I ordered the dirty bird a chicken breast with bacon,cheese,an egg and both buttermilk gravy and brown gravy on a biscuit !!!!!! Wow is all I can say it was unbelievably good!!!! If your in Morgantown it is a definite you have to have it. My only complaint is that I had it on the day I picked my son up for the summer wish I had it sooner I could've enjoyed it every time I was in town.

I went here to see what all the rage was about and never found the answer. First, every seat was taken by people not even eating (not the restaurants fault- I understand that) and that didn't even bother me until I waited over an hour for my food to be ready that I had to sit on the floor by the front door because I got tired of standing and the wait for my Italian hoagie was getting ridiculous. everyone left and the employees started putting all the chairs on top of tables and sweeping the floors- basically closing down the place while I still sat on the floor with no update on why my food was taking an eternity to make. needless to say, I will not be returning to this place. my sub was definitely not worth the wait... next time I'll try jimmy johns.

Came here because of all the great reviews. Well that and I had a craving for fried chicken. Of course I didn't think it would stand up to what I've had in the south..boy was I wrong! I got a 2-pack box which comes with a biscuit, a drink and a side of sauce (I picked buffalo sauce which was good) for about $6.. Don't drink soda but the really friendly gal behind the counter gave me a bottled water instead. Customer service is tops here and the place was busy both sit down diners and to go orders. Actually ran out of chicken by 6pm! Fried chicken was super crispy and the biscuit was light and fluffy. Also got a side of their french fries...light and crunchy. Great experience all around and I'll definitely be back.

Went to the dirty bird on a lark one blustery Saturday morning. Ordered the Dirty Bird Sandwich. I want to make myself clear, it was one of the most amazing things I've ever eaten. It was a revelation between two biscuits, and I have been itching like a crack fiend to get back in there and demolish one ever since. Do yourself a favor, and go to the Dirty Bird, and order the Dirty Bird. You will not be disappointed. Bonus points for everything actually being reasonably priced, bordering on cheap and having a sweet soul station playing. I wanted to edit my original review now that I've had the Dirty Bird's Macaroni and Cheese... I can say with no qualms whatsoever, It is the best Mac and Chee I've ever had in my entire life. No contest. Thinking about it now is making me weak in the knees. Love the DIrty Bird.

The chicken is really good. The waffle is moist and sweet. The sandwiches are huge. It is a little pricey but I think with the portions and the taste of the chicken that the cost is worth it. The people are friendly and accommodating. Would good again.

This is by far my favorite restaurant in Morgantown. The fried chicken is as fried chicken should be, crispy on the outside and moist & tender on the inside. Their mac n' cheese is perfection and isn't made until you place your order. Their sandwiches are exceptional as well. My personal favorite is the Vera Cruz. If you can eat the entire sandwich in one sitting, then you are a better man than me!!! I can go on and on, but you have to go and try it out for yourself. I haven't had anything on the menu that I didn't love. Their fries are the bomb too!!! So hurry on down. Kim and the rest of the staff will take great care of you.

I keep hearing about this place. So i finally decided to try their fried chicken. It was a lil greasy, but its fried food...anywho it was delicious and moist! the cole slaw was ehhhh though. I do like how they include a side of asian sweet chili sauce.

I had heard so much about this tiny eatery I felt it was time to try it. I had the buffalo chicken sandwich and mac and cheese. It was very filling. Both the sandwich and mac and cheese were very tasty. I really enjoyed both. Where I have to take points off is related to the smell of the resturaunt and the prices. The place smelled a bit stale and musty. And the prices quite honestly were absurd. A sandwich, side and drink cost me $16.50! To me that's not acceptable. I appreciate local eateries and expect to pay a bit more than I would at franchises but that's just too much. Its rediculous that the $8.50 sandwiches do not come with any side at all. Not even chips. They should come with a standard side with the option to spend more for a premium side. As much as I like the food I can't say ill be going back again. There are so many other quality eateries around that are a fraction of the price. At tailpipes I can get a good burger, fries and a drink for $10. At Chaang Thai I can get a huge portion of pad Thai with chicken for $10. Dirty bird just need to make thing bit more affordable
