I am not sure why there are so many one stars. It is not a high-end place but a reasonably priced buffet. We never heard a peep from the kitchen and you can't see in from the tables. There was a large selection of items. Our server was friendly but overworked as she had to clean off all the tables after a tour bus. The place was clean and the buffet well stocked. It wouldn't be my first choice for eating out but not a bad option if you have kids. I could see it as a good place for a church group.

Came here because Golden Corral had a line. No line here and I know why. No meat. Poor quality and an empty bakery bar. I will wait in line at GC next time.

Since they got some competition in town, the food and service is improved. ..now they bring the steak to you! Love that..no more waiting on line!.

Great place if you're interested in food that seems to have been sitting out forever and a day of gastrointestinal issues.

Horrible...Horrible....Horrible!!! Dried out old food the steaks are cheap and nasty and the ppl are rude and nasty just like the majority of the scrubs that eat there.

Went there for Christmas dinner. What a waste of $30. I wouldn't have paid more than $5 for pressed turkey, canned vegetables, stale desserts, and 'clean' dishes and tableware that had grit and food debris on them. The fire alarm that was blinking behind a paper and tape cover was also somewhat disturbing. The food choices were fewer and not as good as Golden Corral. I'll eat Chinese on future Christmas Day's rather than this overrated, overpriced pit.

Stay Away! Filthy conditions, dirty silverware, low quality food! Staff were nice but this place should really be closed down.

First time was ok,second was ok,third was ok....but it got worse after every time, and the fourth time. No more Ryans. The wait staff are blah, the kitchen staff are loud, obnoxious, rude, probably spit in each thing they cooked. Very nasty people in the back.

My friends Ned and George joined me for lunch at this miserable buffet. George had a peach cobbler that had been cooked so long it resembled orange glue. This was after a plate of unpleasant, salty, overcooked vegetables and a dry chicken. Ned had a plate of fried "fish" and a platter of jello that looked alive.Even our friend Bess, who likes everything, wouldn't like this.

My wife asked to go to Ryan's and I reminded her it's gotten worse the last few times we've been there (other reviewers also agree) and that they've raised prices a buck recently. She wanted fried chicken so I caved. BIG MISTAKE. The baked fish had no taste. After one bite, I put it in the unfinished bowl of clam chowder that had no clams in it. I only "grazed." The beef lo mein (I guess that was what it was) was so unappetizing--overcooked and dried out-- it had probably not been turned over for several hours so I didn't even select that. The rotisserie chicken I had was dry. I tried the beef tips, and one was so hard that I couldn't bite it. Another piece was all grizzle The only thing they didn't ruin was the cottage cheese, cabbage, rice, and collard greens. I'm not big on salads if you have plenty of entrees and vegetables that are appetizing, but this time I made my own spinach salad. Discontinued was the house-prepared spinach salad that was the highlight of the salad bar. They have discontinued the Hibachi Grill, where there was some reasonable expectation you would have a custom-freshly prepared dish. The spaghetti was dried out. They dropped the meat sauce option (only marinara available). Also disappointing was that they discontinued pulled pork, haven't seen it the last few times there, and that was arguably their best offering. Finally, the desserts are not presented well, and they don't have the cakes displayed on the counter like before, only slices on the table top. My wife later complained of feeling bad when doing some shopping at Wal-Mart later on and she had some TUMS for relief. I am suffering through a slight tummy ache, and I don't do fried foods or other heavy stuff either. I vowed never to return after this.To date, I have never posted that I would not return to a place, always willing to give them another chance, but they've had their share and I'm tapped out, as other reviewers are too, apparently.

The sunday buffet at Ryan's is more expensive so you'd think they' would offer such luxuries as hot food and a clean atmosphere...eh not today.... We walked in and I made a BEELine for the bathroom while my husband got us a table. I get in the bathroom and I go from stall to stall looking for a at least 50% clean looking toilet when I finally decide to just "hover above," the best stall I could find. I leave the bathroom and go find my husband at the table. We get our plates and I immediately get a baked potato. When I go to where they have the butter and bacon bits and sour cream I realize it's all frozen solid. There was actually ice making its way from the bottom of the buffet on the counter. Luckily they also have sour cream located by the mexican food and bacon bits on the salad bar so I was safe. There was food all over the buffet as if no one was wiping it down. I saw one kid putting out chicken wings from the kitchen, about five minutes later my husband had one on his plate and he could not eat it because it was cold. Also the dessert bar had frozen pumpkin pie that you couldn't even cut into, frozen pecan pie and as I passed the ice cream station I saw a huge blob of Vanilla ice cream and cones on the counter/floor. We didn't complain however, we ate what was edible and got the hell out of there! So if you and your spouse are hungry on a Sunday, save the 25.00 and go somewhere else. This place is disgusting and it's obvious the Kitchen staff have no idea what they are doing. Do not waste your money!!!!

This place needs to work on cleanliness. I use to go to Ryan's in Martinsburg on a regular basis but it just started getting dirty. I picked up a dirty plate.....picked up a dirty fork. The bakery area looked dirty. The server was very nice and rolls were amazing.
