I had the pleasure of discovering The Irish Pub in Lewisburg, WV while working on a project there. Over the weeks I was there I couldn't have asked for a better place to feel at home. Great staff, all always ready to serve you with a smile and conversation. Authentic Irish music performed live most nights by one of the owners makes it even better! Amazing selection of beers and great whiskies. Don't miss out on this pub if you're in the area. I am planning a return just to be there.

If your traveling on I-64 and can't stand the thought of another fast food or chain restaurant, stop in at Irish Pub! The Irish stew was delicious, the hot corned beef sandwich was very tasty and not something you can get just anywhere. The best was the Corned Beef Hash. The server said they only have it on Sundays. It was so good! They have a large beer selection including some Irish beers. Worth the stop!

We arrived a night early for our stay at Greenbrier, so we stayed in Lewisburg and checked out the Irish Pub for dinner. We were pleasantly surprised to find that they had wonderful live music while we were there. Hubby and I started with the pepperoni roll as an appetizer - it was wonderfully fresh and hot from the oven. Their menu is pretty small but Hubby was happy to try the Irish stew and I had the soup and sandwich. I thought the potato soup I had was good even though it seemed to have a strong leek flavor and I enjoyed the sandwich. I felt like the pub was a place to meet old friends or make new ones while sharing simple food and drink. We would certainly go back if we get the opportunity.

The poor, unwelcoming service just does this place in. not much of a menu selection for food.

This gem is as close to an irish pub you'll find that I've come across. Wait. It IS an Irish Pub!!! Why Lewisburg, West Virginia is beyond me. The Irish Pub (gotta love the name) offers over 150 brands of beer, ale, IPAs, and other beauties for brew. My leanings are a good scotch so whilst my friends did some "black and tans", guiness and the likes,.... I sought out Macallan 12 to whet my whistle. Neat with an ice water on the side, I couldn't have been happier. But wait! The place offered up a one-man show. This entertainment was a singer/musician who played the guitar, a book accordian (not to be confused with a concertina) and the pennywhistle. His "accent" brought to life the songs he sang and his renditions had to be spot-on. My Macallan 12 came to life as me and friends sat and enjoyed the music. No food was consumed. Just some R&R in The Irish Pub. (Reading others reviews, I wish I had ordered stew or corned beef - next go 'round). Wonderful place.

Great place! Complex beer menu and simple food menu. The live music was really great and fun. They have a lot of board games available. Our kids played Uno. Wonderful time.

Given the opportunity of eating fast food off the interstate or slipping into this pub for a nice soup and sandwich, I would hope you would chose the latter. This is the kind of place you find and might continue to make it you're secret hideaway. I could see myself finding a room in the local hotel or bed and breakfast, let my cell phone battery go dead and become a regular for about a week. Great food, great atmosphere, great people. Don't bother calling there looking for me, I'm going to use a phony name and mustache. Stop in and see me anytime. Don't tell anyone you saw me.

First off, the food was very good and the music was outstanding. That being said I can't believe how pathetic the service was. There was only one person serving the restaurant, but we were there off hours and it definitely wasn't crowded. It took ten minutes to be recognized, ten more to be given menus, ten minutes later we got our drinks. FINALLY, we were allowed to order. It didn't take long to get the food and as I noted it was very good. We were interested in taking some food to go but when we asked why the "Sampler" cost about $3 more than the individual items priced separately we were told "That's the way it is in the restaurant business." When we asked for a clarification we were told we "obviously didn't have a clue about how things worked in the service area." Really??? Up to that point we had been nothing short of patient and quiet in spite of the poor service... ...but now the server is going to insult the intelligence of a customer? Nice, real nice. She just got more abrupt the more when told that's not how "Sampler platters" are normally priced. Obviously in spite of the fact we have probably been in more restaurants than she has ever seen we were "illogical" and "uninformed." And that's just the start of it. She just wouldn't let it drop. Somewhere along the line "the customer is always right" adage seemed to be lost on this one. In parting she made it clear that just because her family were owners of the restaurant didn't mean she was an owner. HUH? Oh yeh, the fine musician, who appeared in an article posted in the restaurant as one of the ownership group, just totally blew us off when we attempted to ask him a question after he finished a set of wonderful music. He looked right at us and just walked away. He proceeded to do the same thing with a patron at the bar. This was before the server had begun her insults. We were actually just going to compliment him on his playing and ask a music-related question. I'm 64 years old, been to hundreds of restaurants all across the country and in Europe and South America, and NEVER have been treated like this before. It appeared from the start they could have cared less if we were there or not. Ironically, I had personally selected this restaurant/pub to patronize as part of a tour I was taking with a group through West Virginia. I would never recommend this place to anyone unless your OK with good music and good food accompanied by poor, slow service and personal insults. Fortunately this was the only restaurant I selected on the five day tour of West Virginia that fell short of acceptable standards. Of all the choices in Lewisburg I picked the wrong one.

Seriously awesome local Irish pub complete with a pub quiz night and a decent selection of single-malt Scotches (as opposed to some Irish pubs in Florida I've been in where they have more vodka than whiskey--that can't be right!). Also, they make a very good Irish stew and the barmaids are prompt, friendly, and entertaining--as are the customers.

This Irish Pub located on what I would call Main street of this town was a neat little dive bar. Now small down dives are not the same as big city dives...I find them more laid back with more locals. The bar has a lot of character. With a drinking process that allows achievers of drinking all the beers on their list to have their name placed on the top of the bar trim. The beer selection was very good with just around 100 beers to choose from their menu. They also had food, but for this visit it was only beer. There is a bartender which I met while in town, though he wasn't working named Tommy. A nice guy with as much character as the bar itself....tip him well if you are lucky enough for him to serve you. There is live music certain nights and I was lucky enough to hear some of it and it too was good. Nice casual bar with a lot of character like the folks of Lewisburg proper.

I found this place on yelp. AMAZING. The atmosphere was great. Live music. Our waitress/bartender was so nice. Some man, who I assume was the owner, brought us seconds of our potato soup and stew. So generous, friendly and not to mention the food was great. The menu looks small.. But everything on it is perfection. If we are ever in West Virginia again... We will be back!!

Ambiance may be a little lacking, but Molly made a delicious Old Fashioned and her martini was second to none.

Great staff, great beer, great atmosphere. (I just answered the questions below and can't recall if there is a tv ... the memory she fails me sometimes.) I want to go back and give the food a try.

Saying it has good Irish food is damning with faint praise, like saying you bought the best car made in Yugoslavia. But I like the place...and one of the reasons is that it's authentic, such as already said about the food. They often have live entertainment. The beer selection is large, and the beer menu even lists the alcohol content of the different beers. The people who work and eat there are terrific, but you can say that about any place in Lewisburg. Fire up Aer Lingus. I'm going to Ireland.

This is a great little pub in historic Downtown Lewisburg. The atmosphere is always welcoming, the staff is always fun and friendly, and there is always good live music to be enjoyed. The food is typical of small joint, but the stew and corned beef is amazing. The Irish Pub has a very large selection of bottled beers, and a rotation of drafts, which always includes Guinness, Harp, and Smithwicks. When you go, be prepared to relax and enjoy yourself; this isn't a five minutes in and out place.

The Irish Pub on Washington Street is one of my favorite places on the planet! The ambiance, the people, and the staff are the kind of wonderful that you can only find in the small town charm of Lewisburg, WV. I try to go there every time I'm in town to visit family, and am always disappointed when I don't get the chance. The food is amazing (I love the Cheese sandwich with tomato slices), the beer is plentiful (there's tons of variety on tap or bottle), and the live music is always entertaining (who doesn't love live Irish music?)! They also often have local bands or musicians perform every so often, which is a fun and cost efficient night out, as well as a great way to support local music. Two very enthusiastic thumbs up for the Irish Pub! Cheers! ;)

Always enjoy the Irish Pub when we're in town. Food is decent and hearty and it's a great local spot for beer drinkers. They've got a small tap selection and a 99-bottles-of-beer-on-the-wall challenge (sense of humor). They have live music performance and session music and a dart room. They are also open on nights when the rest of town shuts down. Family-owned.

The Irish stew was fabulous as was the shepherd's pie. Really, really solid food. And it really stuck to your bones. I have also never seen such an incredible beer selection anywhere in WV--nor have I ever seen anywhere else with cider on tap. Just fabulous! There was also live music the evening we were there and it was just the perfect ending for the day. This was probably the best joint in the entire town for food and drink!

Nice atmosphere, nice music, and decent pub food, especially the shepherd's pie, which I've heard is made with local lamb.

Good food (got the Sherp's Pie) and has a real nice vibe to it. The bartender was cool and the locals (I'm from Oklahoma) were nice and lively. Will be back during my visit.

We went for lunch and the Irish Stew was good, If I go back next year (I visit the region every fall) I'll have to try one of their other dishes. Like most places with live music it's loud when they have a band playing. I'm prone to migraines so listening from across the street was just right in the evening. Plus when we were having lunch the bar tender/waiter was a tall man in pale pink tight tshirt & short shorts with west virginia across his chest & butt. Never thought I'd see a guy dressed like that *anywhere* in WV and was amused.

A neat little Irish pub with a fantastic selections of beer from all over. Although we only had a cheese plate, it was very good. We were there on a Saturday afternoon when at 3PM the music started. It was nice...not too loud where you couldn't carry on a conversation. I loved this place and I just plain love the town of Lewisburg!
