Just had the Best Greek Pizza ever! Thin crispy crust oozing with feta and mozarella, Greek olives, small slivers of red onion. Walked in 10 minutes to closing. They were gracious and insisted in taking care of us. While waiting had square of cherry crunch dessert, which alone may be worth the three hr trip to this place in the future. Highly recommend this cool bakery/pizza place.

At least four stars maybe five depending on what you order. The pizza is fine though not to me exceptional but the salads and baked goods are beyond great. The trout salad which is under ten dollars yet comes with a generous helping of smoked trout plus apples and walnuts is a very healthy lunch alternative to pizza. The baked goods inclusive of their cherry nut bars and their famous mini donuts and bear claws are the stand-out favorites but everything I've tried has been very good. Overall a great place for pizza or lunch as well as an ideal bakery to pick up bread or sweets to take home with you, too.

Fresh baked goods, novel and creative pizzas, friendly staff, cozy environment, pet friendly attitude, and of course, beer! What more can you ask!? And it's conveniently located in downtown.

I stopped in for a slice of pizza late on a Saturday night and could not have been happier with my choice. The pizza was thin and had a nice crisp bottom while the cheese tasted fresh and gooey. Along with their pizza, they had a great selection of bakery items and desserts. The cream cheese brownie was wonderful! I will make it a point to stop by this place the next time I am in Lewisburg!

Pastries are exquisite especially the almond croissants and the mini donuts!! We stop here every time we pass through on our trek from Virginia to Indiana. It's is a great town to drive through the bakery is an easy find a few miles off the interstate.

Just moved down here in July. LOVE this place. I get a dark chocolate florentine at least three nights a week. The pizza is wonderful too!

I see it's been awhile since it's been reviewed. The bakery is now fully open for business on a regular schedule. The pizza is amazing! The best in the area, and possibly the state! Just be warned that you can't order a whole pizza before 4pm. But you can always get a slice, or two, or five! The pastries and desserts are to die for. We usually get a chocolate mouse torte. This last time we had a dark chocolate florentine. Yumm :) They also have a wide selection of beer. If you come to L'burg and don't go here, you're cheating yourself!

My dad's parents live down here, so we always get baked goods from here. They also have pizza. They have outdoor seating

Todd and Genna run a top notch operation. He's the bread specialist and she's the pastry queen. Pizza rates with Grimaldi's Pizzeria in Hoboken NJ (a regular in the top 5 in the NYC metro area) IMO. That's a hefty compliment . . . just make sure you ask for it 'well done' when you order here. Pastries and breads are all above average. Another commentator mentioned Jeff's breads, those are available at the 'other' bakery in town. Jeff specializes in sour dough, and they are fantastic, but Todd goes for lighter breads and is the best in that variety with a wonderful to die for french bacquet (forgive the spelling). UPDATE: The place is remodeled (after an insane 12 month hiatus). They reopened the week I gave up, boarded the AMTRAK Cardinal and went to NYC for pizza, and a couple other things, but pizza mainly. Ate the 'new' GVB pizza. Its even better than the old! Don't miss this place.

This place is fantastic. If you visit Lewisburg, and don't visit this shop, you're missing a treasure! Go here for pastries, freshly baked bread and pizza, and great sandwiches. The people here are also very friendly. After my second day of going, I had the cashier Charlie say hi to me by name! The baker will discuss the bread, and answer questions you have about the baking process. Just make sure they're open before you visit, because they have weird hours, and are not open every day. Everything here is well priced. The pizza is light, with plenty of flavor. And lunch sandwiches are amazingly affordable and delicious. And the pastries are so beautiful. For breakfast I like getting a buttered baguette, and a hot tea or coffee, for a total of $2.25, it's cheaper than McDonalds! The tea is a whole leaf tea of great quality, and the bread is baked fresh daily. The tea is $1.25 if you use their cup, or $1.00 if you bring your own cup. The buttered baguette was only $1.00. For lunch I like either their freshly baked pizza, or made to order hot sandwiches, both made with their own homemade dough/bread. You can get a unique sandwich with unsurpassed flavor and quality, with a side salad for a total of 7$'s. And don't worry about having to wait on a waiter, because this is a laid back place where you order over the counter, and sit yourself. For dinner, I love the pizza--16 inch, shared with one partner.

The remodel is awesome. The space is airy and bright. The grinder is fabulous! Nice selection of wines. Beer on tap is a plus. Pastries are so yummy.

OMG! Bakery delicacies to die for. Bear claws, melt in your mouth! Everything is luscious including the cutie behind the counter with the cat paws (not claws) up her back!! Always a must stop on my way in and out of L-burg-smallest coolest town and the coolest bakery in town, for sure!

The lunchtime sandwiches are the stars here. Different every day, very creative, and reasonably priced. Really good pizza, but it's not available every day. (I think maybe Weds - Sat?) Good pastries, too. (The bread is respectable, but not as good as the pastries. If you want really good bread, look for Jeff's Breads at the Farmers Market.)

Great in theory but it's either closed or being renovated. Call before you go over.

I was on vacation in White Sulphur Springs and we drove into Lewisburg to check out the town. We pulled over to ask someone where the closest car wash was, and the first thing that caught my eye was the chocolate chip cannoli in his hand! He pointed to Greenbrier Valley Baking Co. and the rest is history. I had the chicken quesadilla lunch special (which was awesome) and took a variety of baked goods to go. I highly recommend the cashew apricot bars, pistachio baklava and of course my very favorite the chocolate chip cannoli! Do not miss this place, even if you're just passing by you need to make a point to stop in. Very reasonably priced and the service was very friendly, but some of the people there (not GBVC people, other customers) were rude and one lady was having a cow b/c they didn't have hot water the second she asked for it.
