Mexican Cuisine
If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.
Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.
Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.

If you are looking for a decent Mexican restaurant El Rincon will do. There isn't much atmosphere but the staff works hard and are very efficient. The portions are huge, the service is fast and the prices are cheap. I have had better chips and salsa at other locations but they have wonderful refried beans. I always stop here when traveling for a decent meal. It's a great place for family's and the menu has a lot of variety.

The food is always amazing and the staff is always super friendly. This is our go to spot every time we're in the area. I would recommend this place to anyone passing by craving Mexican food. My favorite lunch item is the speedy Gonzalez which is one taco, one enchilada, and comes with rice or beans

Seems to become our go to Mexico food restaurant. The salsa and fajitas are better at Kings Pizza but no margarita there so there you go. That said, very friendly staff and never crowded. Great prices and to be honest, we think it's better food than the two other Mexican food on the hill. But nothing around this area is Tex-Mex so 3 stars is all I'm giving out.

Not a big fan of their food, have gotten chicken with gristle on it and beef with gristle, chips and salsa pretty good. The place needs cleaned up though.

Worst reception ever, called up twice to find the menu options hung up phone. Be away from such place

Wow, this really is the best Mexican I have had in WV. I got a burrito dinner and a quesadilla dinner. Enormous amount of tasty food, not too much cheese, maybe a little salty. I will be back!

I never thought I could feel disappointed with chicken fajitas at a Mexican restaurant but alas.. I was wrong. The fajitas don't even come out with the usual steamy finesse, no juices from the bell-pepper/onion, fairly dry chicken, flavorless beans with cheese, no guacamole or sour cream (which it totally needed since it was a bland and dry dish). We sat at the middle back table by the bathroom and you can't even pull the chair out too far since one side hits against a step, and awkwardly big chairs as well. Overall with the lunch special and a soda it was almost $10 before tip so not bad in terms of price but I wouldn't come back since I didn't care for the food. Anyone who thinks this is Authentic Mexican food must be loco. I'd recommend Las Trancas over this place any day.

After a long day of running errands and dealing with crowds of shoppers, there is nothing like stopping by El Rincon and having a nice lunch. The food is delicious, the waitstaff courteous, and the atmosphere is good for groups or just with a few friends. It is one of my favorite restaurants in the area, and I highly recommend it.

The Best!! ........You have to recognize that it seems like a little dirty hole in the wall..and maybe it is? But every other Mexican Restaurant I go to, I am disappointed, and wished it was El Rincon. Speedy Gonzalas is my #1 Go To. Cheese Enchalida's are ROCKIN! Jumbo Shrimp Quesadilla is HUGE, and Top Notch..Large WHOLE Pieces of Shrimp!! Naturally, You Can't leave out the Cheese Dip & Margarita's.

I'm a native Texan who eats Mexican food (both interior and Tex-Mex) once or twice a week back home, and this is one of the few Mexican restaurants I've eaten at outside of my home state. So it's possible that I may be grading on a slight curve here, but I was pretty impressed with El Rincon when I went (I believe I visited in September of 2009, and I'll probably be back the next time I'm in West Virginia). My husband is from West Virginia, and while we were visiting, a family friend recommended that we try this restaurant. I was a bit apprehensive because the only other place I'd had Mexican food outside of Texas was in NYC, but I decided I was up for an adventure. We went for lunch. The place wasn't too crowded, and I actually liked the way it was decorated. Chips and salsa were provided before our meal, so that was a good sign. I got a chicken enchilada plate (enchiladas suizas, I think). The only problem was that it didn't come with rice and beans, and when I added them on the meal became a bit pricey (I can get a good chicken enchilada plate with rice and beans in my small town in Texas for $5.99). The enchiladas were good, and the rice and beans were okay. I should have asked whether half orders were available, because the side orders of rice and beans were way too much for one person. No problem, that makes it a good value ... I had leftovers to put in my father-in-law's fridge and eat later.

Staff was not real engaged. Felt like was bothering them. Store was clean. Salsa was boring at best. Interesting table decorations. All advertisement for other buisnesses. Proably pass this place up next time

Salsa is nothing to brag about, food is quite authentic, and afordable. Nice atmosphere, colorful walls and carved brightly painted wood chairs. I eat lots of Mexican, and this place was pretty darn good.

Great food, but they really need better ventilation, you really smell awful when leaving there. Their chicken isnt as good as it is at El Rey either. My second favorite Mexican restaurant.

This was one of my favorite restaurants as a kid, and growing up in rural West Virginia, this was as ethnic as you could get. Even today, El Rincon is the gold standard for my love of Mexican food. One new development that I have noticed is that since I have become vegetarian, the food at El R is even better. Their vegetarian fare is top notch. If you ever find yourself in Bridgeport, WV, I highly recommend El Rincon.

El Rincon is a great place to meet up with friends, but if you are looking for authentic Mexican food of the type that you would find in Texas or California you are barking up the wrong tree. This is a town favorite of kids from local high schools.

The food is good nothign too special about it but they are fast.
(4)Justin R.
If you are from this area, this is about as good as it gets. Giant, delicious portions of Mexican food that is not your local chain restaurant, but also not necessarily traditional Mexican fill your table. The smells and tastes are delightful. The service is always friendly and fast. Growing up in this area left much to be desired in the ways of food, but El Rincon was always around to fill the much needed gap in variety.
