The food is okay, but I'm not sure about the cleanliness of some the cooks.

I eat here about once a month with friends. Honestly, it can be a roll of the dice as far as service goes. Sometimes it's super slow and at other times it seems as if they are pushing you out before you're ready. The food is usually good. I usually have either the carpetbagger or the tonto, both of which are tasty. The milkshakes are generally pretty good, too. I tried an Oreo shake last time and it was delicious. Just be aware of fair to middling service sometimes.

Nothing like it! I highly recommend visiting Macado's. The wings are FANTASTIC. There are so many sandwich choices and they all look incredible. We were a little skeptical when we pulled up, but this place has really delicious food. I would definitely go here again!

This isn't a fine dining establishment but it is a great place to eat. The food is good and the service is attentive.

If I had written this review 15 years ago I would have given it 5 stars. This used to our starting point. Our group would come to eat and drink and meet our friends until we decided what to do for the night. Many nights started and stopped here. The food doesn't seem to be as good as a I remember and of course back then we knew all the servers and now the service was just ok. This will always be a blast from the past and maybe next time I will have a cold brew for old times sake.

Attended 7/27/15 with some buddies. Honestly, the atmosphere has always consistently been cool in this place over the many years I've been going. My only real complaint has been a purely personal aversion to paying $7-$10 for what is, essentially, a sandwich and a bag of chips. Not necessarily fair since there is an admittedly large selection of different sandwiches. Large beer selection and some signature mixed drinks. IMHO, I enjoy the appetizers the most. Paid $17+ for bacon and cheddar potato skins, a frozen beer mug margarita, and a pitcher of the cheapest beer on tap. My buddy paid approx. $9 for a sandwich, a bag of chips, and a soft drink. This review would have only been 3-Stars, due to them being OVERRUN on a Monday evening by a huge herd of rude and unruly teenagers; but our waitress was amazing and took great care of us, so she alone won them the 4th Star.

Took forever to get meal. Had to ask for silverware, then napkins.. No attention to detail, slow to respond. Kids pizza was severely undercooked, so toppings all slid off the pre-made dough. Surprised this place gets 4 stars. Must have been an off day

I no longer live in the area but we always visit Macado's when in town. The drinks are awful, lol. But the food is always amazing!

Everywhere I travel, due to my profession, I always get two meals, if I can. Mac and cheese, and the French dip sandwich with Au jus. I stayed in Bluefield for three days and had Macado's six times. Why? Because they are open late. The French Dip was great which included an awesome spear pickle. The Mac and cheese with Chicken was fabulous. I had that 4 out of the six times. I also enjoyed the atmosphere. My buddy and I watched the World Cup where USA was facing a tough Germany team. Perfect place for that. The only drawback was the karaoke night. The DJ sucked and there was nobody there. Service was good for the most part unless you get tucked away in a corner. Overall, I loved it.

If you are ok with slower service with good food then Macado's is a good choice. They have daily specials with the most popular being wing night on Mondays. We went a lot on high school.

This restaurant has delicious food! I have had zero complaints in the 3 years of visiting this place!

Took my guys from church for wing night and it was awesome! Even though they were very busy our server was excellent and the food came out in a timely manner. Highly recommend.

Good Bar Food and Drinks Good sandwiches. Most of the food is pretty good. Nothing really stands out. It tastes like all the other Macado's I've been to, so I guess that's a good thing - you can order the same food in different cities and expect the same taste. Drinks are good. Not too pricey, but they could use a little more kick. Some are just so sweet I doubt there is any alcohol in them. But maybe they're just mixed really well. They have a lot to offer kids and I appreciate that. On that note, there is PLENTY to look at on the walls.

I've been coming to Macado's since one could eat on the patio in the mall before the second story was added...AKA since birth. I've had it all: PB&J in my younger years, sandwiches/wraps in middle school, sampled my dad's Italian fare, devoured the soups, carved my initials in the booths in high school, salads and loaded spuds in college, shared desserts with a friend when I was single, and now drink from my St. Patrick's day glass with fond memories. I've grown up in this place. Since 363 days of the year it's not St. Patty's or Halloween, I'm going to talk about the food. Sandwiches cover half the menu for good reason. The bread, meat and cheese quality are top notch. I love anything with the thin sliced turkey and/or cole slaw. Annie Oakley, Betty Boop, Bronx Bomber, Dietrich's Delight, and the Ricochet Rabbit have all been favorites. It comes with potato chips and a delicious claussen pickle, which I grab from anyone at the table who doesn't want theirs. I usually get pretzels and honey mustard instead of chips. If you decide on chips, getting the onion dip is a must. Nachos grande is great for sharing, although nothing special. The chicken parm is surprisingly good, as well. Take note soup fans: broccoli and cheddar soup is the best I've had anywhere. I have to be honest with myself, I can't eat their salads anymore. I hate the idea of paying $8 for so much iceberg and minimal toppings. Stick with the hot food, buddy. I came back after a year and a half away and noticed some changes. The loaded spud (open-face baked potato with veggies, chicken, etc) is no longer on the menu. The Diablo Quesadilla wasn't as stuffed as it has been in years past. I also found little to no bacon. Getting stingy on me, Macado's? Come on, we go way back... As a pro, this restaurant is one of the most consistent in the area. I get what I'm expecting, so that makes ordering easy. I'll give two cons-- 1) your service greatly depends on where you sit and who you know. I would say "ask for Chad if he's working", but he's really popular now. You have to wait an hour for his section on Mondays when wings are 25 cents. Whatever you do, make darn sure you are not seated upstairs. You'll be forgotten. 2) never peek into the kitchen to watch the food prep. It seems to be an experience that scars all who do it. I like the food; ignorance is bliss.

Of the 5 or 6 Macado's locations I've been to, this one is the worst so far. They're not bad, just not the best. If you're in Bluefield you should check it out just because it's the best place to eat in Mercer Mall. However, if you're in Radford, Blacksburg, or even Lynchburg or Lexington, those are good Macado's locations.

Great food, pretty good drinks, very clean, service kinda slow but not too bad. Prices are a little high but you get good portions for the price. They have a good kids menu and a separate bar area for 21 and up. No smoking, even in the bar area.
(4)Rick W.
Food was very good and the price was not bad either, only complaint I had was the menu us to large, it becomes a bit of a chore to choose from what had to be 50 or so different sandwiches

I do love the food and atmosphere at Macados, and the servers are friendly and fun. But I got a glimpse into the kitchen the last time I was there. Now, I'm not sure that I feel all that safe from food poisoning when I go. My fave meal there is the Stuffed Quesadilla and some lemonade with a lot of sugar poured on top.
