This place is seriously so good! Really a surprise to find right in Beckley. Service is prompt and out of the handful of times I've been here, the server has been really helpful and welcoming with the exclusion of one girl who had been probably been working all day and seemed pretty agitated throughout my dinner. Oh well! There is a super cute guy that works there and is the sweetest thing, but I can't remember his name. To put it simply, the noodles are served to perfection! I've ordered veggie udon noodles just about every time I've been and they have been a perfect chewy consistency every time. The sauce was really, really tasty and the vegetables were crisp. I've gotten some avocado and cream cheese rolls, too! I wasn't too blown away by those, but they were really reasonably priced and they did the job. Overall, excellent place to get a bite to eat for lunch or dinner, probably some of the best stuff you can get in Southern WV

I eat here semi-regularly. My absolute favorite thing on the menu is the Yum Yum roll. I have never been disappointed, and even when I am with someone who does not care for sushi, they have been impressed. I do not care for the dressing that comes on the salads. It is chunky and weird. But everyone else has always said good things about it and scarfs it down. Hibachi is a good show but gets old after so I only sit there when I'm with kids or someone who has never eaten Hibachi before. If I order something other than sushi, I generally get the filet and chicken with veggies. I skip the rice but have had it before and it is excellent. My food is always cooked perfectly and the portions are large enough that I have plenty left for lunch the next day. Side note: if you are lady, be sure to check out the totally disturbing picture hanging next to the sink in the bathroom!

First, I must say, the food was simply awesome, but bear in mind that I chose this score carefully, so please, don't get me wrong. If you are simply looking to fill yourself with calories, you'll be fine. If you are in search of a nice place to impress the lady with your sense of gentlemanly savoir-faire, then continue your search elsewhere. The reason for the low review is simply for the way the manager blew his top over the way the cloth napkins were folded. He acted like a child who didn't get his way. The service and sense of hospitality lacked, but it was definitely because of the leadership. Based on the recommendation of another helpful yelper, I ordered the snapper in yellow curry. It was amazing! But I didn't stop there. I had to stuff myself with a unitake roll, a bowl of miso, a small carafe of sake, and a few pieces of nigiri. The verdict: Excellent. The environment was pleasant, and was made even more so as a talented acoustic guitarist serenaded the diners with soft hits. Just don't expect a high level of performance from the staff, knowing that they are micromanaged to absurdity.

Their sushi is really good. Sat on the hibachi side once. They don't seat you for the hibachi grill until your whole party is present. Which I found weird. But nonetheless, food was good. Drinks were good too. But a bit pricey. Service is really good. It is designed really nice from the inside. It is best to dress nice and not in just casuals.

Sushi is solid and varied. Thai curries are insanely good...I recommend the red snapper with green curry. Friendly staff, quasi-authentic decor. Very good, worth four stars easy.

I seriously have no complaints about Kimono. They're quick, reasonably priced, the sushi is fresh and tasty and the atmosphere is great. They have great combos that are perfect for one person who's really hungry or two who aren't, with soup, salad, and choices of sushi rolls and sashimi. The waitstaff are very knowledgeable and patient; great with recommendations for the first time sushi eater, which must be common in Beckley. The restaurant is fairly new, so the inside is very well decorated and I love the ambiance. Perfect for a date night or dinner with a group. For the traveler it's a little inconvenient since it's a few miles into Beckley, but definitely worth it. For the local, it's next to the movie theater so there's your evening.

3.5 Didn't know 'Kin' was part of the name, oh well. I came here almost once a week (not by choice- for work) and it was a decent place. They recently came up with a thai menu which had delicious chicken curry I ordered often after getting tired of hibachi. Their fried rice was ok, noodles were good. I sampled all the meat: Steak was chewy, shrimp wasn't up to par, chicken was always dry, but the scallops were where it was at. If I had hibachi it'd be scallops and noodles. Delicious salad dressing, not sure what it was. Love Ramun (japanese soda). Sushi was pretty good actually, I forget which ones but the ones with crab or eel were my favorite. House soup is not bad either. The hibachi cooks were ok for entertainment, wish more of them spoke english. One in particular though named, (I forget but it was like a car brand) was awesome, he was hilarious and I don't even remember how his cooking was! lol I always wanted him to be our chef but there were too many customers to always get him.
