Our food was delayed due to an unavoidable issue in the kitchen. But the manager came to our table, covered our breakfast and cooked some of it himself.... Let me tell you the eggs he cooked were the greatest I have ever eaten at out... They are almost better than my moms eggs. It's impressive when a manager actually knows how to do the jobs of others. Phenomenal.... We will be driving thru and definitely stopping here every time we drive to our home at the beach.... Earl is the managers name... Thank you for making a potentially bad situation for my kids a great one! I'll make sure I call first to make sure he's here before I stop..... At Beckley, WVA...

Been to this chain only few times. Some sort of smell on entry. Not sure if musty or something else. Not nice. Pancakes were fine but egg whites ordered with them were rather cold and had hint of yolk in them. Coffee as expected. Service was ok.... Not overwhelming friendly.

This place took my IHOP cherry. And they do wholemeal pancakes. This made me a wee bit happy. The wait is what gets to you though. There were other's there and the wait was about 20 minutes to get seated. Once seated it doesn't take that long to get your food and start shoveling away. I couldn't figure out why there were so many syrup flavours though, but maybe that's just an Australian thing. We only have maple syrup on our pancakes, so having blueberry syrup on my blueberry wholemeal pancakes made me a bit blueberry giddy. All in all, it's pancakes. And pancakes make me happy. Pity about the wait!

Stopped here around 9 pm today when we found most other local options closed. Hostess ignored us and refused to make eye contact. It was bizarre. Finally, she mumbled something about a 10 minute wait. When my husband pointed out that the restaurant was virtually empty, she muttered something about having too many other tables!?! We waited and were seated, but ultimately we gave up and left without ordering due to lack of service.

Been here 40 min. still no food. I had one order of pancakes to go, the first order ended up in floor by a girl who appeared to be stoned. Guy at register keeps complaining. Manager did acknowledge I had been there long enough for him to go to bank twice, apologized, gave me food free. This is typical of Beckley. Most chains are poorly run by people who could care less or have drug problems.

The service here was extremely slow, we waited 30 minutes for our food. Food was burnt. Adult food was served before children. The waiter was not attentive at the very least. It was awful.

We were a family -2 adults 2 small children, traveling through staying at a hotel up the road. We tried to try a local place for dinner, but found out it was closed on a Friday evening at about 6pm. We were greeted and seated promptly and served by the same lady who seated us. She was hustling her butt off and seemed to be the only one working. She seated several more guests promptly and served the tables near us. (Restaurant was probably a third full with patrons.) Despite the hustle, she was friendly and attentive, very receptive to the kids babbling kid talk to her. Husband had breakfast for dinner ordered "Just like this picture on the menu", kids had super healthy for dinner chocolate chip pancakes. I had the crepe with chicken and spinach with hollandaise sauce and fruit. All were happy with their order. The crepe was delicious.

Not bad, but hardly stellar. The hostess was new and seemed a little confused about the seating layout, but she was nice. Our only reason for the visit was for my sister to get some of their "new" funnel cakes. When we communicated this to the server, she instantly lost her peppiness and didn't check on us much after delivering the order and a pair of coffees.

When it comes to chains, the difference is usually in the wait staff. The food is usually the same anywhere no matter what part of the country you are in. But, the wait service makes the difference. First off, it took over 20 minutes for us to get seated, and there were plenty of empty tables available!? I didn't understand. So, that put my whole family on edge. Once we finally got seated, the waitress came and waited on us. We ordered, and told her we were in a hurry. The food actually came rather quickly compares to the wait time to get seated. The meal was good just like at every other ihop. All-in-all it was a decent eating experience.

It is my policy to review chain restaurants in only extraordinary cases. Having survived the frigid night in my car, stuck on I-77, and finding even McDonalds closed due to the blizzard, the OPEN sign at IHOP was a pleasant site. I hadn't eaten much for the better part of a day. When I asked the gentlemen (in the truest sense of the word) shoveling snow at the door if they were open, he indicated cheerfully that they were, 24 hours a day, everyday of the year. He held the door and was especially helpful when he heard we were one of the many who'd been stuck on the highway. I love IHOP and go fairly regularly at home. This time was no different, except for the relief of being off the highway. There were a few other patrons in the place, mostly folks who'd had the same experience we'd had. Service was great, the chicken fajita omelette, my fav on the menu, was just as good here. The coffee was excellent. Thanks to the IHOP folks in Beckley for staying open in spite of the official call to close businesses and get off the roads.

The food was as expected, but the service was very poor. We had to ask for drink refills and parts of the food was not delivered.

It Is what it is. My only complaint is everytime I've been here my order has been given to me wrong. Everytime! Sometimes small mistakes but nevertheless mistakes everytime....

Awful experience. Awful service. Awful management. Stopped here on our way home for a quick meal and ended up being there for over an hour and a half. Our food was taken to the wrong table and took an hour to even reach us. Waitress visited us 4 times all night--to take our order, drop off the drinks, drop the food (eventually), and then to give us the check. It took a half an hour after we were done eating to just get the check. She didn't give us a discount for our wait and there were no apologies what so ever. We asked to see a manager and he only gave us $2 off--which is absolutely ridiculous. There were 6 other tables in the restaurant and they all seemed to have similar situations--and one guy got a house salad--how hard is a salad to make?!??!!! Normally my wife has good experiences at I-Hop but this was my first and last time; needless to say I will NEVER stop at this location ever again. Everything about it was horrible. Don't go unless you want a long wait with poor service!
