I was hesitant to give a review at first because we were initially left alone when the hostess seated us, but our waiter redeemed the restaurant with excellent service and thoughtful attitude as soon as he was assigned to our table. Be sure to ask for Ricky Slack if you ever eat here! Fantastic treatment!!!

Not a bad restaurant at all, the service could improve but all and all it was a good experience. The food is great, and the Mac and Cheese was a pleasant surprise.

First time I had been here, it was great. Our sever was Rose, very polite and she could answer questions about things on the menu. I had the key west chicken and shrimp, it was so delicious. I've never had chicken cooked so done and it was so juicy. The spices on the shrimp and chicken was amazing just the right amount of heat. I'll be looking forward to going back here in the future.

Large variety of delicious foods. From a Monti Cristo to Dijon chicken and shepherds pie there's a little bit of everything on the menu to satisfy the pickiest foodies. A personal favorite are the honey butter glazed fresh croissants. Customer service is almost always on spot. I tend to be a very picky eater and alter menus to meet my tastes. Cheddars has always been accommodating and so far (3 visits) hasn't even messed up my order! The prices are very reasonable and the portions are large. The broccoli casserole is a must try, and if your children like chicken tenders, Cheddars has some of the best.

Tonight was the worst!!! Servers was not friendly... Takes forever to take orders .. Two couples was side by side with us come after us, got there food b4 us which we order first... We asked to talk to the manager .. Never see him show up, until 10 min later the server come with the food we order, my husband decided to cancel!!! It took them 45 min to bring the food and we haven't seen the manager at all.. I went to this place few time with my family... The servers b4 was absolutely GREAT but tonight we got the worst server ever!! As myself I worked for the public and I know exactly how to treat my customers.. They seem not cared at all!!!

See my original review for full details. But I stand by the three-star rating. Still only broccoli offered as a healthful side option. I had a steak, which was dry and not flavorful, and ribs, which were very tender and delicious, though less meaty than some I've had at other places. The service was fast and good, and the variety on the menu is great for an American place.

This Cheddar's was very good. They had decent food (3 ordered burgers and I got the Chicken and Waffles). Their strawberry lemonade was very good and refreshing. The prices were excellent! Wait staff was quick and attentive. I like the décor in this place along with the large fish tank!

I just came back through here the other day and this place is the bomb......I had ribs and I mean ribs.....a full rack..so much food that I wobbled to my truck...love it ,you have to go, there is one in Roanoke VA also, I love them both...and the sweet tea was like perfect...I was going to say like moms, but my moms tea tanked, this was perfect...sorry mom, see more of my reviews at: highlandmediastudio.com/…

Arrived at Cheddars and was excited to try the restaurant for the first time...... REVIEW * DEC 23, 2012 Caesar salad, loaded potato, chicken pecan salad - Sat quickly was the only positive. Arrived at lunchtime, ordered half/half tea, got only sweet tea. Ordered a salad yet had no pears for salad. Ordered a different sald, arrived with no dressing. Ordered fish tacos that appeared to have sat under the heat lamps the entire 45 minutes it took to get the food. Potato was over cooked and hard at each end. Caesar salad was buried in dressing. Overall it was a poor experience and will play a large role in not returning in the future. Probably only a bad day, yet my experience appears consistent with many other comments.

My husband and I visited Cheddar's when we traveled to Beckley to visit my aunt. The three of us arrived at the restaurant accompanied by my diabetic alert dog, a highly trained, well-groomed black Labrador retriever who was wearing a vest indicating that she was a service dog. The manager confronted me, asking for her certification papers. I told him that the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) states that service dogs require no certification. He was adamant that such papers were necessary; he claimed that the WV health inspector demanded evidence of certification. That's a crock. The ADA, as every health inspector knows, preempts state laws that present obstacles to compliance with the federal law. I've occasionally encountered ignorance of the ADA provisions, but never before have I been confronted by ignorance so fiercely defended; the man managed to be both hostile and condescending. I know the law, and I defended my right to access--at that point it was a matter of principle. My service dog is medical equipment, just as a wheelchair is. He finally relented, but his ignorance and hostility put a damper on the evening. It's hard to decide whether I hated my experience at Cheddar's or merely disliked it, but I'll be generous and give it 2 stars because the broccoli wasn't overcooked and our server was very good. I'll make it a point to revisit Cheddar's the next time we visit my aunt--and my dog will be with me.

I have now been back to Cheddar's a few more times since my last review because my parents really like going despite its flaws. I bumped it up a star because the food has been consistently good and the prices are fair. However, the service has been sketchy just about every time I've gone and you have to wait an hour before you get your food. For example, my cousin ordered a salad and she had to remind the waitress three or four times that she had ordered one. Her meal came out and she still did not have her salad until 20 minutes after she got her food. If they could just improve the service and speed, this place would be great!

Horrible place to eat! Was seated in back of restaurant where employees take break and waited over an hour for our food!! Had to talk to two different managers to find out why there was a delay!

Very average service. Zero pre-bussing so we finished dinner with the appetizer plates still on the table. 2 of our 4 person party ordered ribs. The server informed us that they were out of ribs after returning from the kitchen. How do you run out of ribs? No manager visit. My family ordered a dessert and they didn't even comp that. The rest of the food was average.

Other than the clumsy server reaching over everyone in my party to grab drinks and plates and making a thousand excuses why the croissants were never ready during our 90-minute visit, and the body hair we found in our food, I had a great time there. It could have been an off-day for them, but I won't go back to find out. .
