Sashimi tasted like hard slime. Rice was dry. Everything tasted like it came from a dumpster. The manager said the fish came "fresh from a bag". What kind of fresh food comes in bags? A manager at a sushi restaurant should be able to identify freezer burnt fish. Was charged for food I didn't eat and what I did sample was offensive. Go to Taste of Asia instead.

It's Hibachi and Sushi in rural West Virginia. My colleague and I travel to the area routinely for work and this is as good as it gets out there. If you're expecting big-city sushi, go to the big city, because this isn't it. It is tasty though and the staff is very friendly. On a plus note, I've now tried a far wider variety of deep-fried sushi than I had ever imagined possible! It seems that at this place, unless it's a spicy tuna roll or salmon sushi, it goes in the deep fryer. Also, they're within walking distance to Billy Bob's Wonderland. I'm not sure what that is, but the name alone makes it and anything near it awesome.

Who would have thought, a Japanese Hibachi restaurant in Barboursville, WV with a Micronesian chef. My coworker and I stopped here for dinner as it was right next to our hotel. Service was a bit slow due to a large party in the back but the owner brought our table complimentaryt sushi to make up for the wait. Unfortunately, I don't do sushi so I can't comment on how good it might have been. The hibachi combo of shrimp and chicken was tasty albiet a bit salty for my taste. Our chef was a big ham and we had a good time. Good table conversation with some friendly West Virigians across the table from us added to the enjoyment of our visit.

Went with a party of 11, quoted a 90 minute wait at the Olive Garden (not my choice) on a Saturday night so one of our party called Shogun and we were there and seated in 10 minutes. Food was standard Hibachi grill, I'm not a huge fan of Japanese food but it was pretty good. Nice friendly waitress and chef put on a good (albeit scripted) show for the crowd. Seemed like nice quality ingredients, steak was tender and shrimp was cooked just right. All in all glad we bailed on Olive Garden and everyone seemed to enjoy Shogun.

I was in Barboursville for business and went here on a recommendation. The outside is not too inviting but the restaurant was packed on a Friday night. I had sushi at the bar and decently priced draft beer. The sushi was fine for West Virginia, not the best I've had, not the worst either. Overall good dining experience and I would return.

Yes it is WV and it is Hibachi, but the price is right, the service excellent, and food is fantastic. Can usually walk in during peak periods - also great to go menu. Cold draft beer, authentic saki and great service...enjoy the east in the west
