I don't see why everyone leaves crumb reviews for this place. The crab cakes were great, as well as the potato pancakes (which were homemade.) my fellow diners thoroughly enjoyed their fish fry. Our waitress, Mary, never got tired of rattling off the potato choices, and was very friendly, and made small talk. They took our name, and we were seated pretty quickly. This place has great views and an "up north" atmosphere with raccoons and bear heads on the walls.

My brother in law and his boyfriend stopped in for quick bite to eat. The wait staff would not talk to them and basically forced them to leave. As they sat waiting 20 minutes to talk to someone the couple next to them started talking about how marriage is only a man and woman. Basically we never expected to have such a rude experience in Wisconsin. The rude treatment is unacceptable. Anyone who believes in equal rights should avoid this place.

Was told to come there because of the food and the beauty of the restaurant. Came in and the staff was very rude. We were not aware that we needed a reservation. A man sitting at the bar made a very rude remark so we decided not to stay. I didn't want my grandchildren exposed to this. It was like we were lepers.

This is a delightful setting with pleasant atmosphere. However, I ordered baked walleye and never saw a walleye shaped like, oh no, tilapia. Gee, I hope I was not charged big bucks for my favorite seafood and served some farm-raised, toxic laden substitute from Asia. That would be really bad! I hope the owners respond to my concern and/or start serving real walleye. By the way, it's a federal offense to substitute fish!

Friday fish fry was outstanding. The perch is the best choice. They have some of the best potato pancakes I have ever had. Good beer on tap selection and they make a mean old fashioned. The interior is beautiful with huge windows looking out on the lake. Fridays are busy so don't plan on a leisurely meal. Great kids menu as well.

Very nice dining room with a beautiful view of the lake. The small bar also has a nice view and some outdoor seating. The menu has enough choices and some daily specials. I had baked chicken and it was good. The stuffing was pasty. My wife had shrimp. Very bready. The service was friendly but slow, which seems to be standard up here.

Awsome Friday Fish Fry. Very friendly prompt service. Whitefish wash cooked perfectly. Best fried clams I've ever had. The steamed shrimp appetizer was done to perfection, with the drawn butter.

We rolled with a party of six kind of late on a Sunday and were made to feel very welcome. Food was very nicely prepared and the service friendly and skillful.

Had dinner here with friends on a Friday; arrived just after 5 and it was already crowded. The hostess told us 30 minutes for a table but we were called after about 15. Large bar had 3 bartenders working, food was great. I had the chicken dinner which came with potatoes, cranberry sauce and cole slaw. The cheese curds appetizer was enjoyable as well. The outdoor seating would be lovely in good weather and the view is rather nice. Another reviewer said this is more upscale; most folks when we visited were in jeans and sweatshirts, so anything goes, I'm guessing. A nice place to have a drink and dinner!

Amazing! Have gone every summer for the last 4 years! I always get the perch with a baked potato. Usually an Old Fashioned or two! The hosts are so friendly! They came up to us several times and asked how things were and also if the bugs were ok since we were seated outside. Love the location, sit outside if you can!

This place has an amazing view over looking big arbor vitae lake. We arrives on a Saturday night at nearly 8pm and were told we would have a 45-minute wait. Thankfully we weren't starved and used to eating later in the evening. We had two cocktails while sitting outside on the deck and were entertained by an eagle fishing for dinner. At one point it came nearly 20 feet in front of us. Our waiter was a dullard, he didn't share the specials and forgot to serve us breadsticks with our salads. The most excited he was during dinner was when he brought us our check and his evening was ending (he was at the bar with a cocktail before we even left our table). He did however have proper serving manners in that he attended to the 3 women at the table before the dude. 2 in my party had the prime rib and special and said that it was excellent. Another had the bluegill special and cleared his plate. I had the filet mignon that I ordered medium bit it was quite rare. I didn't have the heart to send it back since it was already so late in the evening and my companions were well into their meals. I definitely would return but would make a reservation for a weekend evening and would order my steak well done.

as always, this place was highly recommended by friends for the fish fry. We went on Wed thinking it wouldn't be as busy and we would get right in...well, we were half right, it was not busy but we still had to wait to get a table...the drinks at the bar were excellent, not skimpy and reasonable price...we got a table, waitress took our order and then the wait began...we all had the fish fry which should have been out in a matter of minutes...we finally asked, were told it would be right out and were given bread sticks to keep us happy (not part of the fish fry) Fish finally came and I swear, I had to look for it between the thick batter...which, by the way is about all I could taste..I don't know for the life of me why places have to hide the taste of the fish with such thick, oily batter....I was not impressed with the food...oh, and I forgot to mention, the cole slaw, no flavor, the baked beans, were o.k., but both came in tiny little plastic tubs like one would put ketchup in for their fries...the waitress was ok but in a mood due to an issue she was having with another table...oh well,,,,gonna be awhile before I go back...maybe try broiled or baked fish the next time....or just drink at the bar...the view is great!!

We went to our favorite Fish Fry tonight. It was a beautiful evening, so we asked to set outside. Neal pointed me to a table that we could have as soon as the guests left. We sat at the bar and had a martini, that was excellent and within 10 minutes were given a table. Other guests at the surrounding tables were very kind and spoke with us while we waited for our dinners, which didn't take long. The food was very good including the homemade potato pancakes. Great place to eat every night of the week.

Great supper club atmosphere! Classic drinks and great food! Nice patio area where you can sit while waiting for a table. Reservations recommended! Returned for dinner 9/12/2015; very busy at 8pm. Had a reservation though. Ordered the 1/2 rack BBQ rib dinner. They were fall off the bone tender, with great flavor. Dinner salad was nice, including tomato, cucumber, carrots, black olives and croutons. Service was prompt.
