Pizzeria Piccola Menu

Diabetics at Pizza Hut
Pizza is neither a great meal nor the worst for diabetes. All you need is some fact check and monitoring while ordering your pizza. Diabetics can opt for thin crust or skinny pizza at Pizza Hut and avoid the cheese topping to cut down on the excess fat and sodium. If you have diabetes, then ensure to check your portion size when you order a pizza. One or max. two slices are enough. You can also avoid meat if possible and go for wings as a meat option.
Foods to Avoid at Pizza Hut for Diabetics:
You must avoid Meat Lovers Pizza with Original Pan Crust as it contains over 1000mg sodium and will add 470 calories in your meal. You should also skip Super Supreme Pizza Large Original Pan Slice which is too high in sodium and fat. Chicken wings are often tempting but you must control and restrict yourself from ordering Traditional Honey BBQ Bone-in Wings as it can add up to your sugar levels if you eat too many. On average, a person orders or consumes six chicken wings pieces in a day.
Sides must be avoided at all costs especially if it's Bacon Cheddar Fries with Ranch Dipping Cup for its high sodium content. You must also avoid New York Style Cheesecake with Applesauce as dessert as one slice of this dessert item contains 86g sugar. Pizza Hut also offers other Italian dishes such as Pasta. However, you must skip Spaghetti with Meat Sauce and Meatballs and Garlic Bread as it is too high in sodium and sugar.

High Cholesterol at Pizza Hut
Whether large, medium or small, a pizza can boost your cholesterol levels instantly. You shouldn't eat more than one slice of any pizza your order at Pizza Hut. If you're concerned with your high cholesterol, then it is wise to take your friends to Pizza Hut and share pizza among them slice by slice. You can also try pasta at Pizza Hut but ensure that you are not adding any dressing or extra cheese as you order pasta.

My wife and I ate here yesterday night based on fellow yelpers reviews. Needless to say we enjoyed our meal. We ordered the bread knots, which were pretty tasty; and a margarita pizza. The pizza was okay. I was thinking when you order a margarita pizza, you would get the thick slices of tomatoes, fresh mozzarella and basil. Instead we got pizza sauce with a couple melted spots of mozzarella and slivers of basil. The crust was nice and crispy, maybe a little to crispy on a few of the burnt edges. Overall we were satisifed with our meal, just disappointed with orderding a classic and it not being delivered.

I was disappointed. Our pizza was not very good, just kind of meh. We sat outside and there were so many bugs, it was disgusting. It was like something was dirty; we couldn't understand why there was such a high volume of bugs! It looks like such a cool place with a great atmosphere, but we were not impressed and won't be returning.

I love this place! My wife and I live near by and can walk with our dog and get a dinner for two for under $20! The service is outstanding, and the pizza is delicious so there is no reason not to go as often as possible.

We visited Pizzeria Piccola for dinner on Saturday night, for something simple, quick and close to home. We had a great experience, food was delicious, service was outstanding - I'd like to give a shout out to Brian - he answered questions about their Wine selection and suggested items on their menu.....his service made our experience that much better...he deserves a raise! Thanks for an enjoyable meal, we look forward to the weather warming up, so we can enjoy some pizza and wine on your outdoor patio area.

Went here cause the wait at Cafe Hollander was too long, being that we had small children with us. So we walked in a were pleasantly greeted by the cashier, who was kind enough to explain the ordering process. You order, then go get a spot to sit upstairs, and await goodness. A nice amount of options, and great kids selections too. I had a cheese pizza, very simple, but very good. Fresh mozzarella and fresh tomato sauce on thin crust and wood fire baked yummy! The kids split a pepperoni, a nice spice to the pepperoni, and mozzarella on thin crust. The traditional 9" pie was perfect for them to split. They are 4 & 6. One of my dining partners had the Margherita pizza, fresh mozzarella, fresh basil and sauce. He enjoyed it very much. My sister had a pepperoni( the grown-up) version, the only difference I could see was the kids pizza used a part-skim bagged or pre-shredded mozzarella, and the grown-up version uses the fresh. She enjoyed it. My boyfriend had a supreme style, now I can't remember everything on it, but there was plenty. Meats, cheese and some veggies. The dining room upstairs is quaint and you get your own refills, napkins, and plates, then someone brings your pizza up, and enjoy! My only negative was when we got our pizzas a couple of them weren't very hot, they weren't cold but not much above room temp. Like they made those first and let them sit until all the others were done. Other than that it was tasty in a nice atmosphere, more than likely we'll be back.

Cute restaurant, good food with great prices, and a happy staff. Seating: If you go there during the summer they have a very cute patio for outside seating, although during the winter you have to climb a flight of stairs. This worked great for me, however if you are with someone who cannot do stairs you might want to consider the order to go.

This place is just ok. It will fill your stomach. The pizza crust is just so chewy that it has to be one of the worst I've ever had. The set up is a bit odd as well... seat yourself and get your own drinks. Staff seemed ok I guess. This pizza is nothing to earn 4 or 5 stars.

Pizzeria Piccola is hands-down the best pizza I've found in Milwaukee so far. And I have been searching far and wide. As a Chicago-suburbs native, I grew up believing that the only pizza worth eating was a Chicago-style deep dish. Pizzeria Piccola turned my definition of top notch pizza on its head and I haven't looked back since. I always order the margherita pizza and add artichokes and prosciutto. The pizza is wood fired, so the crust is thin, crispy, and full of smoky flavor, and it is piled high with slices of ripe, flavorful tomato, fresh mozzerella, generous cuts of artichokes, and a layer of thinly sliced, wonderfully salty prosciutto. The pizzas are just about the right size for everyone to order their own, the staff is friendly and welcoming, and the quality of the ingredients can't be beat. I can. not. believe the quality of ingredients you get for the price. Definitely a must-try!

Sometimes we just don't know how good we have it in Wauwatosa. When we moved into the neighborhood in 2002, the only restaurant in the village that we could afford was the Chancery. Ugh! How times have changed. and how far we have some. Piccola opened right after my wife and I returned from vacation in Italy. We were on the quest for the "most authentic Italian pizza.' What a co-inkeedink that Piccola had just opened. It was then four years ago and is now, the most accurate facsimile of any pizza we ever had in Rome. There is something about the hardwood-fired pizza ovens that gives the crust that perfect level of char while at the same time creating the perfect level chewiness that no other pizza oven can do. The cooks have a real skill to be able to move the pizzas around the oven as a means of "adjusting the temperature." But enough about the technical aspects.... Reasons why I love Piccola: 1. The are a Bartollata's owned restaurant. You know that all ingredients use are absolutely top notch. 2. They are family friendly. Not that I have kids, or even like kids, but I do appreciate that we have such an establishment available in our neighborhood. Its good that children know that "going out for pizza" does not always mean Pizza Hut or Chuck E. Cheese. 3. They have great outdoor seating in summer 4. They bring throngs of people into the Tosa village. 5. The selection of available pizzas and appetizers is awesome! 6. Most important, THEY DELIVER TO MY HOUSE!!. And, its cheaper than when we used to order from Pizza Hut. I think I know what I'm doing for diner tonight!
(5)Cara A.
We googled Neopolitan Pizza when in Milwaukee and this is what we came up with. Delicious Margharita pizza. The 4 cheese (with no red sauce, which is what the counter help suggested) was OK but a little heavy. I thought the Gorgonzola was a bit much, and it could have used the acid from tomatoes. The crust was absolutely delicious. Crisp and flavorful; almost as good as Punch pizza in Minneapolis-and that's saying a lot!
(4)Katie C.
Love this place in the summer! So fun to eat outside and listen to the live music. Food is great.
(4)Brad S.
Yes, the wood-fired pizzas are about as good as they get, but while I was sitting there with my New Belgium sampler (I love home much love New Belgium gets at Bartolotta restaurants) enjoying my Piccola (tomato sauce, provolone, sausage, red onions, mushrooms, black olives), it occurred to me just how marginally better this pie is over many other highly-regarded pizza institutions in the city. You don't need a crazy talented chef to make a good pie, but it helps give the pizza that little bit of extra oomph to make it something special. Given this, while the pizzas are good, I think the pastas are actually the better deal here. I can get a good pizza for $12 anywhere in the city, but expertly prepared fresh pastas at the same price? That's a lot harder to come by. Whatever you ultimately decide to eat, it's going to be good, and the little patio they have off the street there in downtown Tosa is a great place to eat dinner in the summer.
(5)Cassie D.
I'm a big fan of this place. The patio is amazing and the price is great. It's perfect for the gal who's watching her dime. Two people can go, share a pizza, get some Bread Knots (I heart Bread Knots) and a Fat Tire for under $25.00. And it's quality! Kinda romantic, no? I love that they do their Society Sunday promotions and give back to the community. That is one of the things that keep me coming back to a place. Service outside can be hit or miss, but I'm not complaining.
(4)Nicole A.
I really like the New York type feeling you get by ordering at the counter and then sitting down. The outdoor patio looks fun. The pizza is of a good quality. The duck sausage has a mild flavor that you like to chew for enjoyment of flavor. The cheeses seem fresh, the crust compliments the other ingredients and is flavorful as well. I was only disappointed in the size of the pizza arrival and salad. It was a personalized size, and we were a party of 2. The caprese was very small as well, and I always hate getting a food item that I can make at home...grape tomatoes thrown haphazardly in a soup bowl, with oil, mozzarella, and basil (no balsamic.)
(3)Paul M.
Freshest tasting pizza I've ever had. There are a ton of pizzas that do the same thing as everyone else. There are a few pizzas that have a unique quality to them. And there are some pizzas that are downright nasty. But once in a great while the stars align and magic happens. That's Pizzeria Piccola. The first thing you notice when you walk in is a counter. And the first thing you might think is, "take out, only?" No fear. The seating is upstairs, as well as an outdoor patio area. You walk up to the counter, place your order, take a number, find a seat, and your food is brought to you. It's a little reminiscent of Culvers, which might feel a little "meh" to some people. But their system works well and the service is speedy. Now, I've had lots of wood-fired/brick-oven/grilled/*insert-gimmick-Âhere* pizza before. Some of it was good. Some of it was horrible. None of it had a particularly "fired" flavor to it. This is where Pizzeria Piccola delivers! On top of that, I can taste the freshness of the ingredients. Especially the produce. The flavor just pops in your mouth. "Awesomeness," is all I can say! BONUS POINTS: 1) Some days they fill their staff with volunteers. They take care of all the service, and their charity gets a portion of the day's profits. 2) Seating - A nice outdoor patio and the "detached" dining room upstairs. I like the very intimate feel of the dining room since it doesn't share itself with any major entrances or service paths. 3) The bread knots. Just get 'em. I shouldn't even need to tell you. BUMMER POINTS: 1) There is no handicap access to the upstairs dining room. Patio - yes. Upstairs - no. Be prepared. This is the main reason I knocked off a star. I can appreciate their situation with the architecture and the way they had to do things there. But it is a huge obstacle for some people nonetheless. And that's a bummer. 2) Slightly cramped seating in the dining room. Can I please just have a LITTLE room to back up my chair so I can get out? And, if you need a high-chair, it really helps to put it at one of the table settings. Otherwise it's blocking most of the isle (which are all quite narrow to begin with).
(4)Gregory B.
Great Old-World flavored pizza, wood grilled to perfection. The pasta is made to order on site, but lacks some of the flavor which is endowed in the pizza. The pizza is very similar to wood fired pizza I've had in Baltimore, but lacks a little flavor in comparison.
(5)Sarah W.
Tasty pizza joint with a small space inside for ordering and outdoor alleyway seating for eating. I love the simple decor that they've created outside, and they have a bartender there, too, in case you want a drink. I tried a specialty pizza with onions, thin sliced meat (I think ham?) and garlic. It was delicious! Matt got the basic margarita pizza and his was good, too. The pizzas are all personal sized, so the price seemed a couple dollars steep for the quantity. They feature gluten-free crusts with any of their pizzas upon request, so we're looking forward to bringing Matt's dad here next time he's in town. This pizza is definitely high quality.

I'm really jelly belly of those that live in 'Tosa (i.e. Brian and Joanna)-- seriously, downtown 'Tosa is so cute. I am a transplant to Milwaukee and yes I've been to Leff's (who hasn't?) but I had never ventured into the downtown. The Mister and I went for NYE- I was looking for something low key & some place we had never been. I read most of the reviews for Pizzeria Piccola- all great recommendations- and it really hit the spot. Mister had the spicy pep pizza and they actually made up a veggie pasta dish for me and it was EXCELLENT! And the portion was big enough for me to eat for lunch the next day. We also started with the Bread Knots that everyone recommended- those fell a little flat and tasted stale but we gobbled them anyways- duh. I really like the casual atmosphere as well as the reasonable pricing. I would be here all the time if it was in my 'hood. When you first walk in there is a sign that explains the process, which I appreciated being first timers. The girl at the counter was also very friendly and let us know we order at the counter and then go upstairs and our food will be delivered. I am anxious to check out the patio though this summer. It looks very inviting!

This was the first gluten free restaurant pizza I had when I moved back to Milwaukee and it certainly didn't disappoint! In addition to a clean and friendly atmosphere, they use fresh and quality ingredients. For all of those who still eat gluten, from what I've heard, their gluten-containing pizza is equally delicious (and a bit cheaper :) ). A big plus is that they deliver to the Froedtert and the Medical College, so late night studiers don't have to stray far from the library for nourishment, and patients and visitors don't need to go far from their rooms. Summary: I would have given Pizzeria Piccola 5 stars because of the delivery zone/ease of eating and the quality gluten free ingredients, but, I'm partial to pineapple on my pizza, and they don't offer it. So, if you're not a pineapple fan, consider this a 5-star review. For the gluten free list: I have eaten here at least a dozen times in the past few months and I have not had a reaction (and I'm very sensitive).

Love the pizza. Thin crust, oven fired real deal pizza that doesn't sit too heavy on the stomach. Their out door seating area is fantastic, perfect setting for a cold beer and pizza in the spring/summer. d

Pizzeria Piccola is a cute, casual, little piece of the Bartolotta empire. I live just around the corner and I love the reasonable prices and simplicity of ingredients. You order your food at the counter and have the option of patio seating (in the summer) or upstairs seating. Both dining areas are simple and rustic, sticking to the concept of Piccola's food. The Vegetarian Pizza comes loaded with summer squash and zucchini, tomato sauce, and provolone cheese, which had a texture that was a little too rubbery for my taste. The Four Seasons is delicious for those who love the taste of olives and artichokes paired with charcuterie meats. All of Piccola's pizzas have come served piping hot with perfectly crispy crusts and fresh ingredients. The Rosemary Ham Panino is also delicious. It is a very simple sandwich with a layer of garlic mayo, a few romaine leaves, shaved ham, sliced tomatoes, and red onions. The ham and garlic mayo make the sandwich rich and the freshly grilled bread is just crunchy enough. I do wish their paninis came with more roasted potatoes, however. I got about 7 meager pieces of potatoes on my plate. The prices are decent, ranging from $7-9. They also offer a few beers on tap; I got the Spotted Cow on my visit there. The outdoor patio seating is very convenient for large parties or families with strollers; the space is wide and the tables are large. Bottom line: Piccola is good for what it is, which is a quick and easy neighborhood pizza joint with fresh ingredients and decent prices. It's always clean and the self-service stations are always stocked with parmesan, crushed red pepper, napkins, togo boxes, drinks, straws, etc. It's the best on a weeknight when you realize you have nothing in your fridge to eat but you don't want to break the bank. Piccola also has fantastic gluten-free options so this is the place to go for decent gluten-free pizza!

Ate here for lunch on a Monday. The service was friendly and the outdoor patio was nice. It leaves a little to be desired as far as decor and comfort, but it was decent. The pizza was superb! Amazing flavor and very authentic! We'll be back!

Update; Got their To Go this past weekend, ventured out a little on the pizzas and went for the Italian Sausage Gluten Free Pizza, the Spicy Salami (which I leaned is the same thing as pepparoni, or at least thats how the corrected me haha), and the Margherita (spelling error possible).. Also repeated the Arugula Salad and added a Caprese Salad. I REALLY LIKED THE SPICY SALAMI PIZZA! It had big pieces of pepperoni and a good distribution of cheese and sauce. Second place was the Italian Sausage which was pretty good I just didnt really like the texture of the sausage. The Margherita Pizza I probably wouldnt order again.. I would get the four cheese instead.. just didnt really hit my pizza bone. All in All I am SO happy I just moved to Tosa and can take advantage of their awesome Gluten Free Goodness!!!!!! To be able to eat out like a normal person is priceless!

This place is adorable. Not your typical pizza restaurant though, or at least not what I was expecting. You order down stairs and take a number to a table upstairs. Once you sit down, there is no wait staff but a 'self serve' corner. Maybe this is to help costs stay down? We had the house salad which had too much dressing on it, as well as the number one...which was great. I just wish they had more than one size of pizzas. Over all a good experience, but I won't be rushing back.

We were recently in downtown Waukesha & had a 'eh' Margherita Pizza. Which brought on our discussion of the best pizza's we've had. Piccola jumped up first in our mind and we hadn't even eaten here since February! (and have had pizza's since) We 1st first discovered this place @ Mitchell Airport - being excited as we had heard great things and boy were the rumors true! A month later we found ourselves in Tosa for a birthday dinner - yippee!!! Absolutely WONDERFUL Wood Oven Pizza with such a reasonable price - Man, it's been Too Long since we've eaten here!
(5)Nikki J.
Lunch specials are a great deal! Left stuffed! delish pizza salads and bruschetta!!! Loved the outdoor seating! Thumbs up :)

I was craving for some Neapolitan-style pizza after watching some show on the television and ta-da! I found this place in downtown Wauwatosa! Best of all, they have gluten-free pizza - A must try! I called and ordered to-go around 11:30AM on a weekday and man, these pizza were ready in no-time! I ordered a gluten-free Four Seasons for myself and The Piccola on the traditional crust for my fiance; they were personal-sized pizza. I really liked the pizza but unfortunately it wasn't the same for my fiance. He thought there was a weird taste to it (maybe it was the cheese?) so he didn't end up finishing it. Oh well, guess next time I'll just have to come back without him! :P PS - The bread knots were YUMMY!

This is one of our "go to" places for both gluten and gluten free dining. We eat here at lest twice a month (or at least order delivery). I love the spicy pepperoni pizza - although beware - it is very greasy. I usually pop a few tums before eating it. But it's very good. But what we love is the penne bolognase with gluten free pasta. We are always certain to mention the gluten allergy and they provide us with a great Italian dish that we both love. And, as much as it is good fresh - the left overs are also wonderful. So don't be afraid to order too much and save the rest for later.

From delicious wood-fired pizzas to ridiculously good pastas, paninis and more, Pizzeria Piccola is serving it up. It took me a while to stray past the basic pizza offerings at this great Wauwatosa restaurant, since they are uniformly delicious (and also somewhat original when compared with menus at many of our area Italian restaurants), but once I did I never went back. I can tell you why in two words: Pasta Bolognese. Oh mah Gahd. If this isn't the most deliciously balanced, perfectly seasoned pasta that has every crossed my lips, I am Chef Boyardee. Seriously. I could order this dish daily. I suspect the extraordinary quality of this and the other pasta dishes at Piccola has everything to do with the fact that it's a Bartolotta's restaurant. The quality is obvious and mouthwatering! I frequently enjoy a bit of Caprese Salad with my pasta and have been known to share a tasty bread knot or two as well. Portions are substantial though, so you should plan to share. A few bonus tips for new diners - Piccola has an adorable outdoor seating area open during seasonal weather. They frequently host fundraiser events during which supports of one charity or another work as servers in exchange for a portion of the night's profits and - for those who live in Tosa: Piccola delivers after 5PM. How great is that?!
(4)Steven R.
Stopped by here after a visit to the zoo...we were very pleasantly surprised...the wood-fired pizza here is great and their pasta is awesome. Our entire family enjoyed their meal

Delicious and affordable. Want to go back soon!

I've been going to Pizzeria Piccola for about two years now, ever since our company moved into the neighborhood. I'm usually there during the afternoon on lunch, but as a business professional, I find this to be a great place to take clients as well as employees. The food is consistently good (the only gripe I could ever make is that the specials tend to be so-so compared to their normal fare) and it is one of the best-priced restaurants in the Tosa Village. The atmosphere during the weekdays is quiet though it can get a bit busy on the weekends, especially during the summer but their outdoor seating is one-of-a-kind for Wauwatosa. The value of Pizzeria Piccola and their great customer service (always greeted warmly at the door) makes it the best place to eat in the Wauwatosa Village.
(4)Jason H.
Probably one of my favorite pizza places I've been to so far. I love traditional Italian, thin crust pizza and this place was top notch. Can't wait to go back.
(5)Nancy R.
Five stars for the porch, music, beer and pizza!
(5)Chris M.
I love this place! Even before I was gluten-free, I loved this place. Now that I can't have gluten, I love this place all the more because they have a fantastic GF crust available for any of their pizzas. Here are my favorite things: - Their sausage. I love the fennel in the sausage. - Their tomato, basil, mozzarella salad. Love it with a little extra black pepper. - Laid back, order at the counter and head up stairs. They'll bring you the food. As part of the Bartolotta group and sharing a wall with Bartollotta's, they also share their executive chef. Not many pizza places can claim such an accomplished chef. Tip: In the summertime, they have a great outdoor area that is actual a couple of storefronts to the east of their restaurant. Great little place, wonderful for groups and families. You may just get lucky and they'll have live music when you go. Tip 2: Sangria.
(5)Angela M.
We decided to visit Piccola's patio to cash in our free-pizza coupons. This time around was great. The pizza was much better. The wine and live music were great and the patio was refreshing.
(3)S V.
I just moved into the neighborhood, was walking past with my b/f and we had to stop in when we saw the lovely patio. It was a Friday evening, there were lots of people with dogs and kids outside and it was animated but not noisy. The pizza was excellent. My b/f and I shared a Piccola pizza. In retrospect, I wish we'd gotten an appetizer too (all the pizzas are 9"). I like that they have New Glaurus on tap. The cashier and wait staff were nice and the cashier helped us with telling us the most popular places on the menu and telling us what ice cream/froyo places were nearby. There was live music as well! I loved the food and the casual, warm ambiance and will be coming back.
(5)Joe R.
Best Margerita (Damn, no spell check) Pizza i've ever had. Their Pasta is the same as Ristorante Bortolottas at 1/3 the price. Easy on that velcro wallet. For neapolitan style za this is right up there.
(5)Jen Y.
This place is so adorable. Cute brick building in downtown Wauwatosa. I was in love when I walked up and could smell basil coming from inside! Pizzas are a good size, nice and light. My only complaint was they tend to overflour the bottom of the pizza. I tend to get that chalky white flour all over which is kind of odd. The bread dough ball appetizer is a nice light alternative to breadsticks, lightly seasoned with a side of sauce. I love the lunch special, 1/2 pizza & 1/2 salad, it's perfect! I haven't tried the pasta but my friends love it. I also noticed on my last visit they have a frozen section of pizzas & pastas to go. Next time I'll try that.
(4)Rod C.
We eat here when ever we come to Milwaukee. Love the margarita pizza and bread knots. We highly recommend this place.
(4)Shawn M.
Typically a stalwart in my pizza portfolio, PP has lost something over the past year or so. The service is awkward, sometimes the service staff ignores you or stands in your way. The food isn't as good, not as consistent and lacks the fulfilling finish it used to have. Don't get me wrong, I'm still a fan but I hope management can iron out the socially awkward experience from cash register all the way through the servers insisting, for example, that you ordered the duck sausage pizza and trying to give it to you. No, ma'am, I'm a vegetarian.
(3)Tim H.
Came for lunch and ordered behind a large party. That caused it to take 30 minutes for two thin crust pizzas to come out which is pretty poor throughput for a fast casual place. The pizza was good and worth the detour. Without the poor food wait time, I would rate the pizza 4 or 5 stars. Due to the slow service, I won't be back.
(3)PJ C.
Our big group needed a late lunch in the Tosa area so we selected PP since it has outside seating and is reasonably priced. The Pepperoni pizza was nicely spicy but the crust was a bit hard and dry - this was the common complaint on all of the pizzas we ordered. We like thin crust but these needed more moisture or at least some oil on the table to fix this issue. The garlic bread knots were more successful as was the Capri salad. The staff was friendly and helpful. And the outdoor space is very nice.
(3)Trish P.
Consistently good, but average, pizza whether you dine in or order delivery. I'm a fan of the margherita, but also like adding the Parma prosciutto. The salads are average and what you would expect at a pizza place. If you are dining in, the gelato is a nice way to end the meal.
(3)Emma F.
Love it, perfect for a summer date! Its original and the outdoor seating is fantastic!
(4)Bill K.
Pizza was very bland, bad sauce, not enough cheese, great crust however. Would it kill someone to put a little basil and garlic on the pizza? My daughter got a pizza with just cheese and olives and it was so salty I could barely eat a bite. I know olives are salty but come on. I'm guessing that the people that gave this more than 3 stars didn't try the pizza.
(2)Jason K.
The pizza of the village! There are other options in the area such as toppers, but this is a nice little place with a small and local feel. The patio is great. Wooden picnic tables and square 4-tops make sitting outside a breeze. There is also a nice inside seating area upstairs inside the restaurant. The pizza is good. It is brick oven style. Fresh ingredients. People love the garlic knots. They were good but not amazing. The ordering process is confusing your first time. There is no wait staff. You order at the register, then take your number outside and they bring you the food. Overall, it's a very good experience. Give them a shot!
(4)Andrew K.
Pizza is great, service is swift and friendly... But they need to make a bigger pizza! I love their food and definitely one of the best pizzas around. Add a little more cheese on the pizza, last time I was slightly disappointed.
(5)Sarah D.
Love this place it's right down street from my house and it's tasty and cheap and the kids love the crunchy crust and it's quick!!!
(5)Phillip M.
I give this place a 3.5 if I could. I think they've got a decent menu, good location friendly employees and nice lunch specials. With all the awesome pizza places in metro Milwaukee it's hard to rate this place much higher. That being said this is definitely a 4 star pizza place if I'm only comparing to Tosa pizza places as I know many of the Tosa folks don't like to venture far from home as the comforts of suburbia limit the exposure to some of the sprawling urban eateries.
(3)Diana H.
Just moved here from CA and are exploring! We had the margarita pizza and arugula salad. Both items were delicious and we will definitely be back!
(4)Rick R.
Pizzeria Piccola is one of the many great Bartolotta restaurants in the Milwaukee area. This one is located down the street from Ristorante Bartolotta in Wauwatosa. The purpose of this restaurant is to serve authentic Neapolitan pizzas. One key component to accomplishing that is the use of a very hot wood-burning oven. The crusts come out slightly crisp and chewy. The sauce, cheese and other toppings are added sparingly to provide additional flavors without overwhelming you with toppings. I've visited a few times over the years but on my recent visit I ordered the Piccola, which is topped with tomato sauce, provolone cheese, crumbled Italian sausage, onions, fresh mushrooms and black olives. Being the carnivore that I am, I would always prefer more sausage, but the pizza provided a nice balance of toppings, so no one topping over-powered the others. I'm finding more pizzerias around town trying to incorporate the Neapolitan style of making pizzas, which is encouraging. For dessert, you'll find gelato, Tiramisu, and a flourless chocolate cake with raspberry sauce. The menu here is simple. The atmosphere is casual. A nice change of pace from the usual fine-dining experience at the Bartolotta restaurants but the quality is still present.
(4)Leo G.
Pizza was good, BUT you have to go to the counter and wait in line for any drink because your waitress doesn't do that. Plus you eat upstairs where it's exceedingly hot. Bottom line, pizza isn't good enough for me to come back.
(1)Chan L.
Great cheap eats pizza for lunch. I stopped by when I had to be in Wauwatosa. The pizza can be a little salty but the woodfire goodness makes it better. Great place for a quick bite. I did notice they have issues with the upstairs seating for people that need wheelchair access. There was a person who came in who was disappointed he couldn't go up. The service was extremely friendly and polite. But isn't that what you expect when you go to a Bartolotta's. I would defnitely go back again.

After a request from "Joe B. of Pizzeria Piccola, Business Owner" to "please email your contact info," I did indeed email him my contact info in January 2015. I have yet to hear back from him (May 14, 2015). Clearly the owner is not really concerned with making a high quality product and is more concerned with the appearance of being proactive. I said before this place lacked attention to detail. This is yet another example. It starts from the top down, and based on my previous experiences I don't expect it to get better anytime soon. There are so many pizza places around that make a quality product; I recommend trying one of them instead.

This place is Legit. One of the first "new" restaurants to come to Tosa before Tosa was cool, Pizzeria Piccola sits in the heart of the Tosa Village right near Chancery. I came here recently with a co-worker for lunch. Their lunch special is amazing - $6.95 for a salad and your own personal pizza. More than enough food and more than delicious for the price. With a Culvers-style setup, you first order downstairs then go upstairs with your number and they bring the food to your table. The upstairs is nice, clean, and has cool window views of the village. Although I haven't tested this place for dinner, for lunch it was better than expected. I'll defintely be back for more Pizzzzzaaaaaa.
(4)Toni D.
My family and I dined this evening and was looking forward to sitting outside. We ordered (4) pizzas and when our order was finally brought out, they were cold. The cheese was hard. It seemed liked they were reheated or something. The kicker was when the teenage server gave my son his plate, a sliced fell onto the table & he picked it up and put it back onto my child's plate. Major disappointment from a Bartolotta Restaurant.
(1)Edmond B.
This was not what I was expecting from this place. I went here with my wife for her birthday. She had requested to go here. We're really new to the area so we were basing this place on the reviews at the time. It's a very casual place with a limited menu. It's not bad really but the pizza we got was just OK. Not a lot of cheese on my margarita pizza. I would go here again if the place I really wanted to go to was busy and I'm in a rush.
(3)Justin L.
Cute little pizzeria in Tosa village. You order your food downstairs, get seated upstairs in their cute, small dining area and wait to for your food to delivered. The price of the pizzas are not bad at all. I believe personal size pizzas were around $8-10 bucks. Not too shabby especially if you get one of their more appealing daily specials. I got the daily special, the rustic pizza, which had prosciutto, pancetta, and radicchio. The combo sounded so good in my head so I had to try it. The taste of it was pretty decent...you can't go wrong with 'fancy bacon.' It is a thin crust pizza, but I wished they had baked it longer or put less sauce in the middle. The center of the pizza was a little soggy for me and probably not enough cheese on my pizza. I realize that gourmet pizza shouldn't be slobbered in cheese, but I think mine was missing a small handful somewhere. I'd definitely go back though based on price value and its close vicinity to my home. I like decently priced pizza that's semi-gourmet. Sure have better options than papa johns and dominos! (which by the way suck...)
(3)Tom S.
The Piccola pizza was excellent. Sausage was tasty, the sauce was flavorful, and the crust was nice and crispy. The Grilled Chicken Panino was also excellent. Chicken breast went well with the asiago cheese and it was grilled perfectly crispy.
(5)Leigh A.
The food and service has really gone down hill. They have awesome live music on the patio though.
(1)Mike B.
Pretty dank, but a couple of lights are burnt out outside. Pizza was pretty good. Bread knots were pretty good. Servers were pretty good. Pasta was pretty good. Water was pretty good. Silverware was pretty good. Overall it was pretty good.
(4)Molly W.
Pizza was terrific, and the service was friendly and prompt. Love the serve-yourself soda bar. The bread knots were meh, but the gelato was lovely. Would definitely return.
(4)Jeannine O.
LOVE the margherita pizza and the four season pizza! Been here several times with and without the kids. We all love it! I especially love the outdoor patio when it's nice out:)
(4)Joanna T.
I hate to do this but....if you are going to have charity nights supporting animal rights groups then it's probably not a great idea to continue to provide drinks to an OBVIOUSLY over served individual who was being abusive to his dog in the patio area. Here's how it went down - a bro who clearly was intoxicated showed up with his dog and proceeded to "play" with it by slapping and kicking the animal...while being served more alcohol by his buddy behind the bar. When confronted, this asshole of course became belligerent because it was HIS dog and he could do what he wanted. Only after we advised the manager that we were calling the police was this idiot cut off. I'm ashamed that I patronized a place that turns a blind eye to abuse, and that tolerates serving patrons who have clearly had too much. It's illegal, unsafe and reprehensible. UPDATE: Bartolottas contacted me and requested my email or phone # so they could follow up with me. I provided both a week ago. Did they follow up? Nope! That tells me everything I need to know about how much they value the safety of their customers. (Hint - they don't!)
(1)Ray T.
Great food. They need more high chairs. They also need a sign outside to say order inside if you choose to use the patio. Otherwise I love the food and patio.
(4)Lisa A.
I came here for a "post long a** wait for the rusty wallace racing experience at the Milwaukee mile" meal (if such a dining category exists.) On a Sunday "the village" was a little more low key than usual. Sadly the patio was closed due to the weather and I was a little confused with the system. (You order at the counter and can go sit upstairs where they will then bring you your food. It sounds simple when I type it but I was way thrown for reasons that escape me). But the star of the show, the pizza? Really really good. A perfect, light and ever so chewy crust, just the right amount of grease (it is pizza, after all). I got the no sauce four cheese (personal size but could feed two) but the shrimp and pesto sounded good too. Well done!
(4)Jessica O.
I think I ate at this place at least once a week when I lived in Milwaukee. The pizzas are thin crust and delicious! I usually would make my own special pizza with mushrooms and meatballs since that is my favorite combo, however their pre-set pizzas are good too-- especially the margherita! I like how you order at the counter and then sit down-- usually your pizza would come out pretty fast! Also be sure to get garlic knots with the pizza, they are delicious! If its summer time, be sure to sit on their patio, they even had live music some nights. Check out the frozen bin near the counter where you can get frozen pizzas and soups to bring home with you!
(4)Zach O.
Customer Service, quality of food, environment...everything is as good as it could possibly be. I've tried to think of another delicious pizza place in and around Milwaukee that I could compare Pizzeria Piccola to, but I just can't. Authentic Italian, wood-fired, thin crust pizza is impossible to beat. For the longest time I was conditioned to believe that pizza needed to be thick and bread...thicker the crust the better. Piccola proved me very wrong. The pizzas are extra thin but they have this insane spice to them. They're so crazy rich and delicious, I have no idea how to describe them...they're unlike any other pizza I've ever had. PLUS, the pizzeria has a fridge full of beer and 6 or so flavors of gelato..you can't go wrong. The customer service is pretty unbelievable. I wanted a beer that they were currently out of and the manager bought me and my friend gelato to make up for it. Completely unnecessary, SUPER nice. I try and go here whenever I'm in Tosa. It's just about the only place near the Medical College where you can get a great meal at a great price.
(5)Nicole H.
Great Italian-style pizza - fresh mozz and not too much of it. Crisp bottom of the crust that gives way to a slightly chewy middle. The margherita is amazing. The bread knots are so good. I love that they put aside a few days each month were charity groups can come in and work as servers - a portion of that day's proceeds and all the tips go to the charity. It gets all kinds of new customers in for them and makes great money for the charity. They share so much with Ristorante Bartolotta what with the proximity, so you get all the same ingredients and recipes at a fraction of the price. You can also get frozen pizza and frozen dough, which is nice.
(4)Kelly B.
In Minneapolis I am a loyal face stuffer at a local neopolitan pizza place called PUNCH. It is phenomenal - and I have never tasted anything quite like it, until last night. I got here around 6:00, and being my first time the man behind the counter was really helpful. He knew the answers to all my questions and was very patient with my indecisiveness. I ended up ordering the garlic knots, the four cheese pizza (added olives, tomatoes and artichokes) and a pitcher of beer. They had three options of beer on tap - New Glarus Moon Man, Spotted Cow and Two Women. The garlic knots came first. They were small but accurate for the price. The pizzas are all personal sized, and I had to control myself to stop eating and save some for lunch. I can't wait to come back. The crust has a great flavor in and of itself - and the toppings were fresh and inventive.
(5)H C.
I have nothing bad to say about the place. I love the outdoor patio that is located between the two buildings. Everytime I have gone the service has been great. I have only had the pizza, and have been very happy every time I have gone. Wood fired pizza, nice thin crust with fresh ingredients. You can't beat the price either!
(4)Brittany E.
Had the spicy pepperoni pizza, crispy & delicious, not too much sauce. Definitely worth a stop! Great outdoor patio & slightly romantic ambiance.
(5)D.J. M.
Found this on Yelp when i visited Milwaukee. Excellent thin crust pizza, served fast by a friendly staff. Good beer on tap. Much more casual than I expected from my Yelp research - but in a good way.
(4)Kristin B.
Pizza is okay. Crust needs work because it dries out and gets unpleasantly crunchy too soon. Garlic knots appetizer is delicious. Staff is outstanding. They're super-nice and perfectly willing to customize for your dietary needs. Good place for a casual meal. It's one of those places where you order at the counter and then take a seat. The dining area is upstairs & beverages are self-serve.
(3)Packy L.
Have been here almost 50 times... great place to grab lunch. I also discovered San Pellegrino Aranciata here for the first time. Try it if you like lighter sodas. Each pizza has its own qualities, all are tasty though. My favorite is the margherita. Chicken Sausage celery and pine nuts is good as well, a little on the oily side. The Spicy Pepperoni is great as well, also oily though. The half salad and half pizza is a deal.
(4)Trina B.
This is one of my faves, by a long shot. It is a completely different pizza experience that is not americanized whatsoever, which gives it it's flare. The pizzas are made in a wood fire oven, so they have that nice grilled flavor. They're individual pizzas, and only come in one size, and when you eat them i recommend folding them up. My favorites are the atomica and the margherita. Always finish with a cup of pistachio gelato, you will not be disappointed.
(5)Richard S.
Great food. The G-free menu is awesome. The three cheese pizza with chicken sausage is amazing!!!
(4)Jackie S.
Delicious! We get takeout all of the time. I love the bread knots and the spicy pepperoni pizza. My fiance usually gets the caprese salad and is always trying a new pizza here. This place never disappoints!
(5)Scott P.
best pizza bar none! I've been coming here since they opened, and they have been consistently great! 1 pizza + 1 beer = happiness!
(5)Chad P.
One of the more enjoyable restaurants in Wauwatosa. During the summer, there is outside seating in a patio equipped with a bar. The pizza is very good, and affordable. Good family environment for those who are looking to take their family out for good pizza.
(4)BLAUGRAN A.
Pizzeria Piccola seems to me to be one of the lesser known pizza spots in Milwaukee. I think that's in part down to the fact that it's in Tosa. However I also think it's in part to their style of pizza. They do a more traditional Italian wood-fired pizza. Now if you've never had a wood-fired pizza, or at least a good wood-fired pizza, you're missing out. I'm a big fan of American pizza and quite frankly, while I'm not your bible belt flag-waving patriot, I think we here in the States can lay claim to being the pizza capital of the World. Still one of the best pizzas you can get is a traditional wood-fired Italian pizza. Now Piccola isn't the first wood-fired pizza I've had in Milwaukee. I used to get them all the time when I lived on the East Side and Oakland Trattoria was still around. In fact while I knew people who'd have mixed reviews of the place, for me I never had a bad experience at Oakland Trattoria. So for me that is the wood-fired pizza by which all other wood-fired pizzas are measured. Overall I don't think that Piccola has quite as good a pizza that Oakland Trattoria used to do. However the difference is very marginal. In fact both pizzas are similar. More on the difference later though. With Piccola you get a hand tossed type crust, but it's very thin in the center. It's excellent and while I'm often times the overgrown kid who doesn't finish his crust, this is one of the very few pizzas where I do. The sauce is... very good. I can't describe it too much, but just what pizza sauce should be and not too sweet. Now I'm a picky enough eater and I tend to get more of a plain pizza, but what better way to sort out how good a place is by seeing what their most basic menu item tastes like. Well let me tell you that if you don't like sausage or generally just avoid it even though you don't mind it, you might want to give this is a try. This is the best pizza sausage you can find, and I don't even know what the heck fennel is! There are a couple of other good pizza sausages in town, but this is the best. Why? Well not only does it taste great, but it also tastes really fresh. That could be in part down to the fact that it's not just pieces of sausage. The best way I can describe it is by saying that it's very crumbly (yes, crumbly) and not just a piece here or there. In fact it was sort of all over the pizza while not smothering it entirely. I generally hate that and don't understand why some places seem to think that just because you order sausage you want it all over. Well this didn't bother me at all as it was more of that sausage crumble. That brings me to my one knock of the pizza. While I'm fine with the substitution of provolone for mozzerella, they need just a bit more cheese. Not a lot, but a bit. That's about it though. Anyway, while I don't think it's quite as good as I remember Oakland Trattoria, but it's sooo close. I did happen to try their bread knots as well. Imagine a breadstick (read the ingredients on the menu, they're about the same as your typical pizza breadstick) but better. There is definitely and elevated taste there and while I dont' get breadsticks much or garlic bread anymore, I would definitely get these again. That reminds me to mention what some of the other reviews have. It's a Bartolotta restaraunt. I really like fast food/basic food upgrades like this and I'm thrilled that Bartolotta is doing this sort of thing as well. With Piccola I think they got it right. Also, Bartolotta's adverts stress the importance of your dining experience in their more upscale restaurants. Well having had an expensive dinner at one of the recently, I have to say that I had better service tonight in terms of getting a pizza to go than I did dining in at one of their upscale spots. There were just a few young guys working behind the counter, but they moved very fast even though it was a bit later and they didn't seem busy. I would definitely recommend Piccola if you're looking for a different pizza and a quality one at that. It amazes me some of the "it" pizza spots in Milwaukee that people talk about that aren't even that good and you've got a place like this that not enough people know about.
(5)Paul C.
Food was very good, atmosphere was nice, service was OK, however, that was the first time I have been at a restaurant that ran out of plates. We also had a very large group that paid cash, however, there was no group discount, and no complimentary anything.
(3)Tim M.
My guy and I ate here last week on a trip to Michigan. We're fan of Punch Pizza in the Twin Cities, so we're always on the lookout for Neapolitan-style pizza (VPN-certified or not). I echo what the other two reviews said: it's a quaint, little pizzeria with friendly service, pizzas that are small but filling, and a pleasant indoor dining area. (There is a very cool outdoor area, but we opted not to eat out because of the weather.) I was also glad to see that the Caesar salad dressing contained anchovy; far too many places play it safe with Caesar dressing and skip that essential ingredient. Should we ever find ourselves in the area again, we'll certainly make a stop there.
(4)jen p.
we have driven by here many times and finally decided to stop. we're so glad we did!! we've been on the hunt for a hip pizza place, and this is it! the pizza was delicious. the service was friendly. they have a real open fire pizza oven. the space is stylish. there is a great outdoor patio as well.
(4)Steve M.
These guys delivered 38 personal pizzas and 4 party-sized salads to 1 bus load of hungry people at the Wauwatosa Curling Club last Sunday, and the unanimous feedback was: "Delicious!" They have gluten-free options, and regular. Their spicy salame personal pie is what I got to enjoy, and all I can say is that I can't wait to make the return trip up to W-TOSA in the next couple weeks to eat Piccola's wares again. Do yourself a favor and check this place out. Plus, one of the local curlers at the club said that they have an excellent outdoor dining spot, and great specials too. Probably worth the summer-time trip up from Chicago for *this guy*

QUICK REVIEW: Tucked amidst the storefronts of the Tosa Village area, Bartolotta & Co. bring us Pizzeria Piccola, home of delicious personal pizzas served quickly; piping hot and flavorful. OTHER ITEMS: Bread knots, bruschetta. Standard appetizer fare. The bruschetta looked great, but my party settled on bread knots. For baked knobs of bread, they were decent. SERVICE: Quick and friendly. SEATING: Upstairs! Could get very packed; though outdoor seating is available in the event you choose not to dine here in the winter months. NOSHED ON: Four Seasons (provolone, prosciutto, mushrooms, black olives, artichokes). Tried a bit of the Four Cheese (provolone, mozzarella, gorgonzola, taleggio). PRICE: Yeesh. $9 for my personal pizza was a bit much. Even the four cheese was eight bucks and a quarter! You're paying for those stellar topping options and the Bartolotta name here. QUALITY: It was flavorful, and the option for regular, wheat, or gluten free crust was a nice touch. OVERALL: While delicious, the cost would keep me from being a regular at Pizzeria Piccola.

This is my favorite place to walk with my little family (two members have two legs, one member has four) - we can easily eat for two for under $20, and the food has never been bad. I love thin crust pizza, and this place certainly does it right. Try a salad while you're here - fresh, simple and flavorful - really, very good. Also, enjoy some Bread Knots - they be some tasty little morsels of dough.

Went here Saturday night and once again this place has yet to disappoint. My wife had the margherita pizza and I had the chicken sausage pizza and shared bread knots. I didn't really read what was one the chicken sausage and when it arrived I was kind if like ugh, celery and pine nuts...one bite and I became a believer! The only thing that kept it from getting a 5th star was the margherita pizza had about one hunk of cheese per slice, in the past it had 2-3 hunks. Otherwise everything was great!

First time visit. Great brick oven pizza! I'm a pizza fanatic and this place delivered! Outdoor seating makes it a great place to go during the summer time. Great location and the price was right.

Wood fire pizza, thin crust, properly cooked, fun/innovative toppings - a bit overpriced. We had the margherita pizza and one with prosciutto and olives (can't remember the name). The olive pizza was much tastier than the margherita, which was just so-so. The outdoor seating is lovely and they had really nice live music when we were there. If you don't mind a yuppie over-priced pizza place, try it.

We always have a good meal whenever we order from Piccola! Their food is delicious, flavorful and always filling. 4 stars because I think it is just a tad overpriced but we still eat here often.

When I first moved to Washington Heights, I swore I wouldn't go into Wauwatosa, but alas, I have. My best friend and I were looking around for some cheap food, and we thought a pizza place would be okay and cheap. We were wrong. It was better than okay! This place has great outdoor seating, and we have always been able to snag a spot. Their spicy pepperoni pizza is delicious, and I highly recommend the bruschetta as well. They also have a wonderful chocolate cake. The most important thing I should note, is that live music happens here outside! I came back with my boyfriend on a day it was going to rain. NO ONE was sitting outside, but we opted to. Heck, we are in a drought, enjoy the rain! We were the only people who sat and listened to a two man group called Texas Dave. He even asked for requests. It was a great experience.
