Chinese food is not lacking in the Milwaukee-area. Tosa itself has many choices, many 10 minutes from any part of the village. So why choose 'China East'..? My prime favorite is the Egg Foo Young. Any Chinese take out can slap together eggs, but the flavor in the gravy is worth it. A hint of cardamom ginger makes bland gravy amazing. The egg plant is the perfect type of mushy - not puree, but soft and easy. As a side note - nice and speedy. I can call from the driveway and it's ready when I pull up. East meets (Mid)west. I had the lunch special here a couple times in the past month and each experience was enjoyable. The sesame chicken, beef and brocolli, general tso's chicken and crab ragoon are either average or a little above average in taste compared to other Chinese restaurants in the area. I would recommend any of these dishes to a newcomer. I like getting the lunch special here because for less than 6 bucks, you can get a large amount of food (about 2 meals worth for me) that includes your main entree, pork fried rice (or white rice if you choose), and either an egg roll or soup. If you have a fortune cookie fetish, they leave a heaping pile of them on the counter so you can grab a bunch on your way out. This place is strictly take-out and there is no dine-in so keep that in mind if you choose to visit. I haven't ordered ahead but it only takes about 5 minutes for the food to be ready so it's pretty fast. I'll definitely be returning for lunch soon.

As another reviewer already said, my "go-to" Chinese place. They never fail to never fail! Strictly take-out, but the food is always fast & plentiful and the service is friendly. Great value for your dollar. I've sampled all over the menu and always enjoyed my meal, although I will admit I'm partial to the spicier dishes like Garlic Pork, Rainbow Chicken, Hot & Spicy Beef or Orange Duck. The only thing keeping me from giving five stars is that they can be a little inconsistent, depending on who is cooking. I've noticed that certain dishes, particularly the Egg Foo Young & Hot Sour Soup are tastier on some visits than others.

Food and customer service has gone downhill in the last year. Our last two orders of the wonton egg drop soup have had metal pieces in them that I cut my gums on. My husband went back with the metal pieces. All the girl behind the counter said was - sorry, that is from the scrubber we use to clean the pots. Yuck! They did not even offer a refund for the soup. That was complete crap! I understand that things like that happen, but to not even offer a refund or replacement was just really crappy, especially considering we eat there at least once a week. Not any more. We decided to go back to Panda Hut.

They make great sesame chicken. Using quality cuts of chicken meat. It's not all rubbery like some of the Chinese places I've been to. The combo plates are a good buy. You get a healthy serving of the main course all with fried rice and an egg roll. It's a really good deal for around $7. They are really fast too. They pretty much make it right in front of you. Most orders take less then ten minutes.

This is our go to place for take out... They do it fast and they do it well.

I can't decide about this place. When it is good, it is really, really, good but other times it is a bit mediocre. The staff is very friendly and orders are up very quickly. I have never waited more than 10 minutes from the time I order to walking out the door. Give it a try, hopefully it will be a really, really, good day.

My go-to Chinese place in town. The food is always hot and delicious. I have been buying from them for almost 9 years, and have never been disappointed with the food or service. Incredibly fast unless they are really busy. I have been in the shop when there is a line out the door in the dead of winter, and they seem to make sure everyone gets their order in due time. Definitely a must-have!

This is my go-to Chinese place. I've never been disappointed, though never blown away. I get nervous sometimes with how fast the food is prepared, but it is probably best i just don't think about it. I think i got the szechuan shrimp last time, and it was good. I needed it to be more spicy, however. So yeah, if you are looking for good Chinese takeout, feel free....

I have only ever had shrimp fried rice here, and I've had it many many times. It is SO. GOOD. They do not cheap out on the shrimp. No wimpy salad shrimp here fo sho. The shrimp are BIG and plump and relatively fresh seeming (I mean, this is the Midwest). If you drive around with China East's shrimp fried rice in your car you smell the shrimp, not so much the rice - they are that big of a deal in the dish. The accompanying rice and veggies are done just right to boot. Super quick and friendly service.

We've been looking for a good Chinese place in Tosa and we found it in China East! This is strictly a take out place - they have some chairs to sit and wait for your order, but don't expect to eat it there. Got the Garlic Chicken and the Beef with Pea Pods and they were goth excellent. The beef was especially good - very tender and delicious. The service is very quick - we walked in and ordered and were back in our car within 5 minutes. While we were in there at least 5 other people came in to pick up orders, so you know it's good. They have all the sauces and cookies on the counter for you to pick up and take. Here's a tip - try the hot sauce in the packet they have sitting there. It was a unique sweet and hot blend and very good.

I am someone who enjoys (Americanized) Chinese food ever when it's pretty standard. That being said, everything (veggie egg foo young, Schezuan chicken, egg rolls, crab rangoon) was flavorful, hot and fresh. Plus, they have an option to get brown rice! This will be my new "go to."

My family has food allergies & I am always able to ask questions about the food and make changes if I need to. The food is always fresh & it's nice that they have a heathy option menu.

Decent food, expansive menu. Enjoyed the fried rice and General Tso Chicken, not as big on the garlic pork. Wish they posted their menu online but I was able to find it from someone posting a photo. Quick and easy Chinese/American food.

For your traditional "Americanized" Chinese food, China East is sure to please. We've been Tosa residents for the last two years, and this has been our go-to joint. My husband is crazy about the chicken egg foo young, and I just recently discovered the walnut chicken - which is lightly breaded with broccoli and a creamy white sauce. We've enjoyed anything pork, chicken, or shrimp based that we've gotten - but the beef in the beef and broccoli was a little stringy. No matter what I get...I have to include an order of the fried dumplings. They are awesome. Not so much a fan of the crab rangoon, though - both times we tried them, they were more chewy than crispy. Check it out :)

Fast, tasty Americanized Chinese food. My first visit -- a few evenings ago with some friends well versed in the ways of China East -- was stellar. Quality and price of the food ensured I will return. I sampled some of the steamed and pan-fried dumplings, teriyaki chicken, pork fried rice, and devoured my own helping of vegetable lo mein. The egg foo young looked great, too, but I wasn't about to swipe any of fellow Yelper Tony P's food! In or near Tosa and want lightning fast Chines? China East is your jam.

If frequently visit this place on a weekly basis. They have awesome food. The eggplant in garlic sauce and so great. The shrimp in the fried rice is big and they don't skimp. Never ordered anything that I wasn't disappointed in. Definitely check this place out!!

Just a standard to-go chinese food joint.

I love this place and have eaten here for years. service is always quick and friendly. Egg Rolls are always cooked and crispy on the outside. But....I've noticed (in the Cashew Chicken especially) that they use way too many filler veggies. In this case my dish was over half celery. I hope they can get back on track with this.

The definition of Chinese takeout. Orders take 10 minutes to make. So you have enough time to sit in the car and wrap up that "where we should eat" argument with your woman. The staff is indeed Chinese, so you know your getting the real deal. I get the general tso every time. My wife gets the sweet and sour chicken. There's really no need for a menu unless this is your first time eating Chinese food. I'd give this place 5 stars. I will grant that 5th star when they start delivering.

This place is close to where I work so it's a great place to get some quick Chinese if I am in the mood for it. It's fast which is a good thing. It's reasonably priced which is great because being on a budget and wanting Chinese, it doesn't cost an arm and a leg.

Chinese Cuisine

The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.

Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.

There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.
