If you are looking for fancy-smanzy this is not the place to look. But if you are ready for some real homemade food at dirt cheap prices you've hit the jackpot. I've always passed the Eagles Nest, but have never stopped, so I recently decided to give it a try. The menu is 3 to 4 pages long, and has the classics like burgers and meatloaf. I decided to try the french-dip. Just about every selection comes with homemade soup. When I visited it was chicken and dumpling. I was so delicious, thick and yummy. My friend ordered the fried chicken sandwich. What made the sandwich so good, is it was a real chicken breast that was deep fried, not a pre-pressed patty out of a box. Both sandwiches, two bowls or soup and two sodas came to just under $14.00. Hard to beat in touch economic times. Definitely worth checking out if your in the mood for homemade food at dirt cheap prices.

The Eagle's Nest has great food and heaping portions. It always seems busy when I am in there. The menu has a lot of variety and I always try to order something new. The only downside is it is cash only.

A great breakfast spot in true diner fashion! This is my favorite breakfast spot in Wausau. Very good pancakes, french toast, omelets, scrambles, etc. The staff is super friendly too. Small and quaint, with great atmosphere. I would guess that its family owned and operated. Please note that they do not take credit cards.

Excellent "home style" food, great service, inexpensive and large portions. Always a busy place, but magically, we've never had to wait for a table. Just a heads up: They don't take credit cards.

To make it quick, great tasting food, huge portions. Very inexpensive. Love it. Get there early. Small inside. They always look packed but we got a seat right away. Bring cash.

Menu is a little too big. Cash only. But as mentioned, huge portions, great food, and friendly, accommodating staff. Interior a little small, but it is a diner.

This place has the best breakfast as far as I'm concerned it's called the Wausau skillet eggs cheese green peppers ham American fries and toast it's big enough to feed two people plus the waitresses are always friendly and helpful with children it's a great place to take your family to eat.

The Eagles Nest is the place you check out when you want to find where the "local yocals" eat. Eagles Nest is your classic family restaurant with a very simplistic menu with many items your mom used to make. Burgers, meat loaf, Friday fish fries, steak and eggs etc. Think the portions match the prices? Think again! The portions are more than enough to request a box after being unable to finish your meal. All these meals are extremely cheap in price, your pocket book will thank you if you choose to eat here. Please be aware, CASH ONLY at this nest! The establishment is owned by sisters who you will seeing working in here every single day. They are super friendly and know most of their customers by name. Many are regulars who dine there many times a week. This is also a popular lunch spot for the Wausau Police Department! Give the nest a try, but please know seating is limited and this place can fill up fast! Sunday church time or during dinner rush you may have to wait 10-15 minutes for a table. This place can get HOPPING. It's worth the wait!
