Great food and large portions. They have some weird hours, however when they are open, they are typically packed; especially on Friday nights.

Portion sizes were okay, but expensive. Everything was swimming in butter and grease. Think...overpriced diner. Ample seating, but it's located in a creepy, soon to be zombie filled mall... We stopped in for Friday Fish Fry. The wait staff were pleasant enough and we split plates for the kids ar no additional cost. The pancakes were the best think from our party of five. Huge....as compared to the fish....tiny.

Read the reviews and figured we try it. Boy are we glad we did. Excellent food. Will definitely be back!

This is a great place for breakfast. I go thier all the time. Anywhere from pancakes to eggs plus more. I always get pancakes and they are truly 5-star. Their service is great. Always willing to help out in any way they can. I've been their with a full house and got are food in a reasonable time.

I went here for a wedding, it was a group of 18 people and our waitress was friendly and handled our large group really well. We all got something different off the menu, The food was great and the servings were huge.. even the kids spaghetti came with four pieces of garlic bread and enough pasta for a grown man! I wish they had one in Madison.

Tucked away in a weird strip type mall with very little signage. The name of the mall is the Waupaca Woods Mall so I figured it was located somewhere within its doors. I guess that the name of the mall and the name if the restaurant being almost the same should have been a give away!! I read some reviews on this place before I went in and it was almost exactly what I expected. Lots if tables filled with the lunch crowd and a counter for those who want to watch the news or chat. Very much a true diner. On the walls where awards for "Best of Waupaca". Awards were for breakfast and family dinning along with others. I did get a bit if a kick out of the awards because Waupaca is pretty damn small.... How many possible entries could there be in each category! With that said, I watched the meals come out of the kitchen and they all looked great. Comfort food at its best or close to it. I ordered off the breakfast menu (which was huge). I had a "scramble" called the Irish. Corned beef, eggs and Swiss cheese over hashbrowns. It was very large and pretty good. But after seeing some of the meals that came past me I wish I would have gotten one of the lunch specials. Other Yelpers commented on slow service. I would agree, but not so bad that it bothered me. I would say the service is not fast, but certainly not poor by any means. About a mile off the highway. Good comfort food at a good price. Great place to take the family while on your summer vacation trip to the Chain O Lakes.

The food has always been great here. The all-day breakfast offerings are worth every penny. The service, however, is not. Whether the place is empty or fairly busy, it takes FOREVER to get ANYTHING. I just ate here today, and it took a half hour to get a simple cup of coffee, plus another hour and a half to get our food, and we ordered simple dishes. Our waitress, who was lovely, only came to the table a total of four times between when we walked in the door and when we left. It's a great place to eat if you have no plans for the rest of your day, but if you have to be ANYWHERE within three hours of when you want to eat, I suggest you look elsewhere.

We ate here for Mother's Day with my parents and my toddler. My wife was also pregnant in her third trimester. With a family of 5, including a pregnant wife, they say, or should I say crammed, us into a booth for 4! They sat my son in a high chair out in the busiest isle in the place, with waitresses frequently walking past holding trays of food above his head. We complained once for the small booth, but they refused to accommodate us. Then, they took roughly 50 minutes to bring us our food. It was horrible too. Parts of our pancakes were burned, and my mothers pancakes had soggy parts in it. How do you mess up something as simple as breakfast??? Apparently they can't cook well when the place gets a little busy. We had to literally put the table decorations as well as salt and pepper up on the wall beside our table because it was too small for us to eat off of. We couldn't stomach the food, refused to pay, and walked out. Horrible food, horrible customer service, horrible experience.

If you're within 40 miles of Waupaca you gotta visit this gem. Their potato pancakes are big and the best I've had. All of the plates that came out of the kitchen were overflowing with food and mine wasn't any different. I went with the broiled Haddock which was damn good. This place is the epitome of mama pop restaurants.

If you like large quantities of food, like thirty-seven scrambled eggs when you only ordered two, and you also like your food to be of the highest quality with a touch of class and distinction, then perhaps you should look elsewhere. I say this only because, even though the former is true, the latter is posolutely not. You certainly get plenty of food for your money at Waupaca Woods Restaurant, but I would happily trade the ampleness of my plate for a little more quality of flavor. The speed of service matched that of my friend, Cecil Turtle. Not the quickest to get to the finish, but, with clean livin', the end is soon in sight. I was puzzled when the hamburger steak and eggs I had ordered was served with a steak knife. Not a good sign. And, after bending the tines off of three forks and wearing down the serrations on my regular knife, the irrational became self-explanatory. The hamburger steak was a little tough. Okay, maybe a lot tough. But, it had okay flavor and was about the size of, what I would imagine would be, one of Kate Gosslin's nipples. Only I could only hope to be the first to supple on the steak.

What can I say that the rest of the reviews have not? basically the food is alright for the price, but the real issue is the service. Every time we go we always plan on getting very subpar service, the staff is usually laying around behind the counter and aren't the friendliest.

Crazy large portions of decent food at decent prices. I've never had an issue with service.

I have been to this restaurant a number of times. Each time I've stopped in for eather breakfast, lunch or dinner, I have found the food to be very good, large portions, and good service. For what they charge you cannot go wrong. Friday night fish fry are excellent, I also recommend reservations for Fridays.

Probably the best place in town for all day breakfast and or lunch and or dinner. The decor could use a refresh but other than that Woods Restaurant does a great job as a diner. Too bad this place isn't more advertised or hiden inside a small deserted shopping mall.

This is first on our list when we get to Waupaca. The food is always excellent, and the staff is one of the best I have seen during a busy time. These people could write the book on service. The prices are very reasonable but the great tasting food and awesome service makes this a bargain hard to beat.

The food is okay, but the service was horrible. The server was not attentive at all, and even walked away from the table in the middle of taking our order.

Excellent food and fair prices. You definitely get your money's worth. Restaurant is clean with a fireplace for those cold days. Wait staff is friendly and courteous and they do their job very well. Great selection of breakfast, lunch and dinner items. Even if it is packed, the sound level is very good for conversation.

Good food. Good service. Large portions. For Friday fish fries it's best to make a reservation.
