Greek food is a fine melody of the finest pressed olive oil, fresh fermented bread, colorful vegetables, juicy meat, sea food all cooked in spices and fresh rosemary. The people from Greek were great scholars who aimed to excel in everything they do. The results are quite visible in their food as they are the inventors of olive oil which is beneficial to health. Greeks also made different type of wines from the best quality of grapes fermented in controlled environment.

People wait in line to taste the exotic Greek dishes like saganaki, taramasalata, souvlaki, loukoumades, spanakopita, moussaka, and many more. The good thing about this place is theyre willing to fix mistakes, no questions asked. Which is good because they sure make a lot of them. Despite having to send my steak back numerous times to the point that I just gave up and ordered chicken tenders, I never had a problem with the service. After finally getting my chicken tenders 30 minutes after having entered the establishment, I noticed, while tasty, we're not any better quality than what you'd find at the local gas station. They need to turn the thermostat down about 10 degrees, air conditioning was on but you couldn't tell unless you were sitting right under the fan. None of the bathroom fixtures seem to work, sink won't turn on and the toilets don't flush. Greek family style restaurants are a dime-a-dozen these days, though its getting significantly more difficult to find a good one. Sunset Family Restaurant is definitely not the good one.

A good townie diner. They get all the regular stuff like breakfast and burgers down pat, but I was disappointed when trying to be adventurous there. Just moved here and it's close enough to walk there on a day off. The staff here is incredibly friendly, even the teenage servers. Stick to the basics and you can't go wrong.

I used to go to Sunset Family Restaurant on occasion when I lived here. When I went here with my mom recently, I realized this might be my favorite independent Waukesha restaurant. They have a huge menu, and did a great job with every item I've had. I'm mostly vegetarian, yet I've never had a problem finding something delicious and satisfying here. Recenty I had a vegetarian skillet with hash browns and toast. It was a good, unpretentious brunch, very satisfying. I'd definitely recommend Sunset Family Restaurant to anyone who's looking for some local flavor in Waukesha.

A solid choice for breakfast/brunch with the girls. And a fiance (not mine). I will say, living in Illinois, it's a little weird to have the smoking/non-smoking section choice. But I got past it. :) Standard sort of greek-dinery place. Big menu, breakfast all day, omelets and skillets and sandwiches and gyros. Our waitress was friendly if a bit disorganized, and she kept my coffee nice and full. Food was good, nothing astonishing. I appreciated that my spinach and feta omelet was nicely browned in spots on the outside while not being dried out inside. A minimum of toast options -- no sourdough, no greek toast, but at least they had rye. The hash browns -- a very important element -- were cooked just right. Everyone at the table seemed happy with their food, service was perfectly adequate and prices were low. Not some place I'd make a special request to visit, but it certainly met our brunchy needs.

I am a fan of any place that serves a good breakfast all day. This place not only serves a delicious breakfast (i.e., great fluffy pancakes, huge omelets, crispy bacon) but a pretty top notch fish fry too. Portions are generous, prices reasonable, and this place serves the absolute best onion haystack I've ever had.

Not gonna lie, I love diners like this because breakfast (I usually don't stray from breakfast) is always good. We were trying to decide where to take our group of Vietnamese students... we wanted something affordable and something more American... afterall we had just finished touring a dairy farm and milking goats. Yes, it does have Greek items, but the diner... the concept of the diner is American and a lot of the items are very American. We walked in and it certainly seemed like we were out of place, but they managed to seat us. The menu is pretty large, so if you are indecisive, it might be a tough choice. I thought I might actually go Greek, but I had to stick with breakfast... I got the Greek Skillet (maybe it was a Gyro Skillet), but basically it was breakfast and Greek mixed together. Yum! Our waitress was friendly and joked around with the three "chaperones", but I did remove a star because when she started taking the orders for the students, she became very short with them. Many of the students didn't realize that some of their orders come with more choices... like sides, type of toast, etc., but she didn't have to get short with them. And when the food came and she was trying to deliver orders she had no patience. We also never got refills. Other than that, the food, at least at our end was very good. We cleared our plates, the students... well not quite so much... but I don't know if it was more the size of the plates (gi-normous) or that they didn't really like the food. A number of them seemed to get something that resembled a stir fry. The Hot Turkey said it came with brown gravy and it didn't, but I am not sure that the student knew that. And an interesting combination... the Spaghetti and Meatballs with Broasted Chicken. Was also a popular order at the table. They bring out a basket of rolls, crackers, and butter and they have little jam packets on the table :). Also... if you want a cocktail (think Old Fashioned or G&T), you can get that! For 14 of us, our total came out to about $160.00... I didn't think that was too bad considering we gave the students a $10 cap on food (we didn't count soft drinks or tea against them)... and the amount of food was just obscene. It certainly isn't a fancy place, but I definitely know where to go if I want a nice heart, big breakfast.

Been coming here for a long time. Great breakfast especially like the steak and eggs. Gyros are also very good. Get s meal and try the soup and rolls.

Have been coming here for quite a while, and was initially introduced by my fiance and I loved it. Love the sizes of the meals and the fact that their bread is made fresh and their soup of the day along with your meal leaves one very full for your money! The service is great, and friendly. Only thing I have noticed is the fact that the appearance is kind of out dated and stale looking, more inclined towards the older crowd. Another thing is some meals that my fiance and I have tried aren't spectacular and I believe that is the fault of the kitchen staff. Once they gave my fiance a piece of ground beef and tried to pass it off as a sirloin which was a big red flag for me. There are times that I feel out of place, and it's kind of uncomfortable. But then when I see the owners they are very very welcoming, and especially the owner's wife, she treats me like i'm her child, she is the kindest women out there and that is a big plus to me. Again, the breakfast is great, some of the lunch options are great but the rest leaves room to be desired. I will not stop going here because of how nice the owners are but if they were to hire a different chef maybe the meals would change for the better.

This was my and my husbands first time visiting. Decor is very dated and worn. We left after sitting for 15 minutes with only drinks being served by hostess. Watched as servers argued around us about whose 'regulars' were more loyal (apparently we were in a booth between two regular diners). We watched as a couple 'regulars' came in and were promptly given service and orders taken. As we walked out, we saw one server on cell phone and eating at counter while still serving her tables. Will NEVER go back!
