Mexican Cuisine
If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.
Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.
Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.

Wife and I go here when we don't want to deal with the wait and haul to Brookfield for Jose's. This place is alright in a pinch. Some dishes are a bit pricier than our tastes, but we both are pleased with the Cheesy Burrito (All we've ever gotten really). Free chips and salsa (as every Mexican restaraunt should do) are good. Staff is VERY friendly and attentive. Food just hasn't knocked my socks off, but we definitely have been coming back. A good but not great place.

We recently moved to the area and the Fiesta Garibaldi restaurant that we loved so much closed in Brookfield. We were excited to find another one. This location takes all Fiesta Garibaldi coupons. The food was great. There is a kids menu. Our service was terrific and we have enjoyed both lunch and dinner at this location. There is a full bar. Restrooms are clean.

Stopped in here once for lunch and thought it was pretty decent. There are so few Mexican restaurants in the area that I can stand, perhaps I've finally found one. The ambiance was fine, and since it was sunny I enjoyed this glass enclosed room they have in the front. My meal started out with complementary chips and salsa, but also a cup of chicken noodle soup which I thought was nice/interesting. I ordered some tacos with rice and beans which also turned out not bad. The tacos were on soft corn tortillas with cilantro and onions which is nice, and the rice and beans were simple but tasty. I'll come here again. It's not great, but it's worth trying again with crossed fingers.

Their chimichangas are very good! The service was fast and friendly. The food is fresh. If you like soccer (futbol) it is a good place to go too.

Where to begin.... I thought I would give it one last try. Last being the key word. Never again because this place is a mess. Simple Mexican style food is the good news. The bad news? 1. Not a lot of patrons but since they are probably struggling, they don't have a host/hostess. Waited and waited until a waiter was available to seat us. 2. service is non-existent. I would give it no star if I could. Our waiter took our drink order the first time. Came back, didn't have cranberry juice. Give them a break, probably ran out. Didn't get our drink order correct after coming back. Took our food order. My wife ordered tostado with refried beans, no meat but everything else such as lettuce, tomato and cheese. Confusion set in. She repeated order. Came back and asked us to clarify what we ordered. Deer in head lights this time. She repeated her order...same wording. Waiter clarifying question, "so did you want just refried beans only?" So I figured I don't have all night, better clarify for him. I wasn't sure how to clarify much more but I thought I would give it a try. a. tostado b. refried beans and no meat c. everything else that goes on it and with it Lots of writing by waiter. I ordered and kept it simple. I said this is going to be messed up. Waiter comes back to clarify our kids order. Needless to say, wife's order was wrong, kids order was wrong but mine was correct! He never came by to fill water, ask how everything was. We ate and left as quickly as we could. I usually don't walk without tipping, but this was close. I ended up giving a 5% tip and a note for reason why the small tip. This is last time we go there. I actually looked for a hidden camera.... Plenty of other good Mexican restaurants to go to, don't waste your time or money.

Mediocre at best. My ground beef burrito had little flavor. Rice and beans were just okay. My waiter did not serve my meal and never did come back to see how things were or re-fill my water glass. This was my first time returning here in 4 or 5 years and it will be my last. There are so many other Mexican restaurants in the area better than this place.

My wife and I both had the El Trio Combination plates. Everything tasted excellent and are looking forward to going back.

Plaza Garibaldi feels like a restaurant with an identity problem. It's somewhere between authentic Mexican and Americanized Mexican, leaning toward the latter. Sadly, the service has steadily declined since its opening. When PG first opened, it was what I love about so many Mexican restaurants -- wicked fast and inexpensive. The last couple of times I've dined there, I've found them to be tremendously slow, and not that inexpensive anymore. Granted, part of the cost is that I have the time to drink four beers before my food arrives -- and that will drive up the cost. Having worked in the food service myself, I can tell you that two of the fastest types of food to whip up are Mexican and Chinese, though you wouldn't know that at PG. It was almost an hour and a half from the time we walked through the door until we got our check. There were only two or three other occupied tables in the restaurant. Our waitress was friendly and sweet, but enormously inattentive. Repeatedly, it was necessary to flag her down (for drinks, for chips, for more napkins, for the check, to pay the bill, etc.). She also told me that my American Express was declined, though when I called AmEx, they told me that my card had not even been run. The food itself is fine. If the service were faster and the prices were lower, "fine" would be good enough, but I've had far better Mexican from food trucks in New York (for far cheaper) or at Rick Bayless' restaurants in Chicago (with James Beard Award winning service). As I write this, I can't help but think that I'd have the same feeling in my gut (and a lot better feeling in my wallet) had I just picked up a six pack of Dos Equis and a Taco Bell family pack.

This place was a joke. The waitress was an idiot and we will not be back. I ordered a shrimp quesadilla and the waitress brought me 3 fried taco shells with a side of mayonnaise. I told the waitress I ordered a shrimp quesadilla and she told me that's how they make their quesadillas...in fried taco shells. Wtf?!?!? She also told me they served their "quesadillas" with mayo. None of this was on the menu and the waitress failed to mention it beforehand. The "quesadilla" had a bunch of shredded iceberg lettuce with a couple tomato chunks and literally 2 very tiny salad shrimp in it. My husband's food was cold and my Judd's food was dried out. Absolutely revolting and a total joke. Don't ever waste your money there.

This place is very good. Everything I've tried was delicious and the prices are on par with it's competitors. The fajitas are amazing! All in all, it's got great food and is a nice place to eat but nothing special; which is just fine by me..

Tasty food, good service, great value. The hubby and I have eaten here about 10-15 times now and we are never disappointed and always leave full, satisfied and with leftovers. They keep a nice clean restaurant as well, and all of the staff are extremely friendly.

i do not post reviews but felt maybe i can save some family the horrible experience we had. First our chips were stale and they forgot about our guacomole, twice. My son ordered 3 hard shell tacos with only cheese. They were delivered with tomatoes, lettuce and cheese, which he did not want. We sent them back to correct the mistake and unbelievably they came back the same. So he basically didn't eat since it took so long. They forgot part of my daughters order and the steak on my tostadas looked like little pieces of stuff you find in the bottom of a hamster cage and completely flavorless. And to top it all off, no one apologized for our horrible service and we had to wait 5 minutes to pay our bill while the cashier sat in a booth and chatted. Seriously...avoid this oneif you value your stomache

The husband-wife owners have gone out of their way to make me and my friends feel very welcome at their establishment. I may show up by myself or with 30 people in tow, and we always have a wonderful time and feel at home. I eat a lot of Mexican food, not just in WI but while I lived in NYC and south FL. Their food is good, solid fare - I can say honestly I've never been disappointed in the food. Their service - now that has ranged from great to awful, depending on which waitstaff were working. The ambience - other reviews note it poorly. This is a middle-market Mexican restaurant - and the ambience is right on for what they are. The restaurant itself is clean, the restrooms are clean.

Was here for lunch and even though our large group was well-taken care of by one waitress, many of the group were not wowed by their dishes (and some locals vowed they probably would not return). The hotter salsa offered with the complimentary chips was nice, not too bad. They offer standard margaritas and beer, Sprecher Rootbeer, Horchata. My son liked his steak zocalo, in mild/spicy adobo sauce. It came with big onions and beans in the same adobo sauce. I had a house specialty pork dish that was labeled spicy on the menu. I really didn't believe them, but true enough, that dish was super spicy! It was good, but overall (accounting for the group's majority opinion), I expect more than just fake atmosphere and dishes from a Mexican restaurant in Waukesha- an area with a deep Mexican history (and an area where my Mexican roots stem from!). Plaza G is okay if you're strapped for a restaurant in this area, but not as a destination.

Everything here is just OK. Nothing stands out. I've tried a variety of items and have yet to find anything that is not mediocre. Last visit the chips were stale.

This was my second dining experience at PG for lunch. Very attentive, and quick to serve. I like the chicken soup as a warm up. Nice suprise on a cold day. I ordered the lunch fajatas! Couldn't believe this was a lunch serving. More than expected. LOVE their salsa! Their guacamole is good too. My friend ordered the chimichanga and was happy with her selection. We'd return!

Food was fine. Margaritas were fine. Nothing was outstanding. I ordered the steak tacos and they were fatty and chewy.

The food here was ok, nothing special. I don't see going back.

We eat here once per week or so. The owners are very nice folks and are always ready to teach us about Mexican cuisine. The parilladas are excellent. Bring your appetite and get some salsa verde.

Just Awful. I cannot believe the positive reviews, or they are not as picky as I am ? The ambiance is bad, the wall in the middle of the room is interesting with nails sticking out of it, the italian gondola mural is out of place, the tv's playing the simpsons and telemundo were not appropriate, the kids screaming and crying added to the discomfort and although I often tell this joke, it had never applied before tonight: THE SERVICE WAS SLOW BUT THE FOOD WAS SO BAD WE DIDNT MIND WAITING. THE SALSA IS CRAP, THE CHIPS OUT OF A BAG, MY DINNER WAS ORTEGA GROCERY STORE QUALITY AND I WOULD NEVER GO BACK
