Never a bad Oscar's experience, Though i do prefer the hwy 100 (West Allis) Location to this one, Though the good thing about this location is more seating and a drive-thru. Pro-Tip you can get JUST the waffle cone for like $.40 Good little crunch to any sundae/shake/etc.

Whenever I previously mentioned Oscar's, you could bet I was talking about the fabulous burger joint on Pierce St. Now I have to clarify! We are on a tour of custard places throughout the spring and summer and our travels brought us to the Waukesha/Brookfield area to sample Oscar's custards -- and burgers. It's tough to rank this place but that said, the three times we've been have delivered rich, creamy custard in crunchy homemade cones. The service has always been very quick, sometimes so quick your custard is dripping out of the cone before you've paid! Best flavor thus far has been "grand olde" -- berries, vanilla custard, and tiny cheesecake bites. While the burgers were largely forgettable, I'd return to try something different (I had a standard bacon cheeseburger) on the menu. Those onion rings? Choice, even though I'm sure they are not hand breaded on site. While it's not quite Kopps, Leon's, or Gilles', Oscar's will do -- and we'll definitely return to check out more of the flavors!

I've always been a fan of Oscar's. Smooth, creamy custard with unique flavors; a good variety of food options with great prices; diner-like seating inside and a drive-through for when you're on the go. I'm partial to the grilled cheese or the BLT - both will cost you well under $2 each. When it comes to custard, every flavor I've ever tried has been solid, and they're not afraid to throw in the toppings. For example, the cookies n' cream has nice big oreo chunks. Yum. Once, when I was feeling particularly in the mood for ice cream due to a long marathon of Felicity (so many feelings), I got the PB sundae from Oscar's. It was magical and I'm sure it can cure whatever ails you. Thanks, Oscars. I'll never forget.

I loved having my first frozen custard thing here! It was just a revelation and oh my god, cannot even compare it to Cold Stone. The feel of the place was so 80s and I really liked that it was like an actual dine-in place but it was dedicated for ice cream. Oops, sorry...frozen Custard. I got something called snicker caramel doodle or something of that sort. This was the place where I discovered that having a warm toasty grilled cheese with a cold dessert while it's sprinkling out is the best feeling ever! Well...at least one of the best feelings! :) TRY IT.

Nice little place: reminds me of an old fashioned burger joint. The bacon cheeseburger tasted very similar to a Whopper which I guess is a good thing, right? The fries were ok, nothing special, but the onion rings were great...very crispy and fresh. The sloppy joe was great, good sauce just needed a little more to make more...sloppy. The place is very clean just looks like it could use a facelift.

One of my favorite places for lunch in the area. Burger n fries for under 5 bucks. The menu has many options beyond burgers. Don't forgot the 2nd & 3rd words in their name "Frozen Custard" 2nd to none

Oscar's has great frozen custard and amazing flame broiled burgers, but it needs a bit of renovating inside. It is very helpful that they have a drive-thru.

Love flame broiled burgers! Good custard, but I go for the burgers! They give you a lot of custard for just wanting one scoop. Also you can not beat their fresh made waffle cones!

I have been visiting Oscar's for quite a while since i've moved here to Waukesha and I have had a great experience 8 times out of 10. Once because during the 4th of July the person who served my Grand Ol' Flavor forgot one ingredient to the custard ice cream, and secondly when one employee gave my girlfriend a wise-crack remark while she was in the drive thru. Another thing that bugs me sometimes is how stingy the cooks are with the condiments usually with the selection of the beef burgers. I somehow feel a bit underwhelmed with my food when I choose the typical 1/4 + fries and drink. Other than that, Oscar's is a pretty good place to have a custard ice cream and the variety of flavors of the day, as well as their onion rings, chicken sandwiches, and chicken strips. Their fries are in the styling of McDonald's except a bit better tasting. Their burgers have a Burger King type of taste to them without the 'give you the runs' kind of effect. The location is not bad, and is a great competitor to Taco Bell next door. The interior is very calm, retro-ish and designed to look like a 60's diner with a modern appeal and is decorated in whatever the season's holiday is during the time. All in all, if I had to choose between Oscar's and a typical fast food chain restaurant, I would choose Oscar's simply because it won't give you a laxative effect like other fast food chains would. The food is good, nothing spectacular but not terrible either. Reasonably priced too. I would highly recommend the custard ice cream and the flavors of the day choices, especially to those who are visiting the Waukesha area.

Pretty tasty double bacon cheeseburger, definitely worth. The fries leave much to be desired though and the custard is smooth but average and forgetable. The onion rings are the most non-exciting I've ever had as well.

I decided to stop here before traveling back to Chicago. I was starving and craving a burger. I wish I would of just gone somewhere else or maybe just got custard. The burger made me incredibly sick :(. I just ordered the most basic burger. Maybe I just got a bad patty because the other reviewers seem to love the food. The onion rings are the only thing that deserved a star from my meal.

While I am not huge fan of their savory food, I love the custard! My favorite sinful delight is the Peanut Butter Cup Sundae. OMG. It is so good. Start with Oscar's frozen vanilla custard. Add hot fudge. Add warm peanut butter sauce. Add crumbled peanut butter cups. And you get heaven in a cup. I just wish it came in a smaller size, 1) because as a lactard I have to decide if I want to be sick and eat the whole thing and 2) I don't really want to end up with diabetes after eating a whole one. But man it is so good!

It's local fast food...a better alternative to multi-national fast food chains...

I had a cold hamburger sent it back and the manager is rude. The new buger came back in less than a minute and it was all so cold

OSCAR'S LOGO AND PRICES ARE BOTH FROM THE 1970s. (This review is for an Oscar Burger and Fries only.) My better half raved and raved about how great the Oscar's burgers were and that I had to try them. I gave in. We went through the drive thru and ordered burgers and fries. Not to be OSCAR THE GROUCH here but the food didn't live up to my expectations that were inflated by my partner's raving. The $1.94 quarter pound Oscar Burger was on par with Iowa-based B-Bop's or Kansas-based Freddy's. The fries, which were $1.34, were really good. Thin and crispy but too salty. The menu lists the fries as being "LambWeston" as a selling point. It's a brand of corporate giant ConAgra Foods. END HITS: I would choose Oscar's over national chains for a burger and fries. Again, didn't try the custard but should and update this review. Oscar's had over 800 "Likes" on Facebook. Printable coupons on their website: oscarscustard.com

I had only been back visiting my hometown for 4 days and we've already been to Oscar's twice! On our first visit the flavors of the day were Mango Berry, Almond Joy and Cookies'n Cream. I was torn between the Mango Berry and Almond Joy so I asked for a sample spoon of each. The Mango Berry was mango custard with swirls of chunky berry jelly. It was an interesting combo. The Almond Joy was vanilla custard with flakes of coconut, crushed almonds and swirls of chocolate sauce. I went with the almond joy. My brother went with a Reese PBcup Sundae, three scoops of vanilla custard topped with hot fudge, peanut butter sauce & Reese's peanut butter cups. It's a rich, chocolaty, peanut buttery masterpiece perfect for any peanut butter lover. Second visit we went for lunch...then custard. The food isn't bad, but it isn't the reason I go to Oscar's. Their fries aren't my favorite and the burgers, soups and salads leave a lot to be desired. But most of my family would disagree with me. My Dad LOVES their beer battered shrimp basket and my brother would be an Oscar's double cheeseburger with fries if the saying "you are what you eat" were true. I went with soup. They always have chili, but their soups of the day were tortellini and chicken & rice. I went with the chicken & rice, really wishing it was chicken noodle or chicken dumpling. I was expecting a clear broth but it was a rich creamy broth. Not exactly what I was hoping for, but it was decent food that helped prepare my stomach for the creamy goodness it was about to receive. I sampled the custard flavor of the day, Chocolate Truffle. A light chocolate custard, chocolate shavings, cocoa powder and rich pieces of truffle. It was too rich with those truffle bits, so I went with a scoop of Zebra in a dish. Zebra is a scoop of half vanilla and half chocolate. It was a good choice because I didn't want the flavor of the day and I couldn't decide between chocolate or vanilla. Oscar's is my most favorite custard destination, Kopps is a close second. I even got the hubby to agree it's better than Culvers, and that it's even better than the Saint Louis Ted Drews and Mr. Wizards that he's been eating for the past 5 years.

Good, yet too many teenagers working. Had undercooked food a few times. Inconsistent quality. Hopefully they learn from this.

Friendly staff, fast service, and low prices. The frozen custard was amazing! I had the heath bar custard and it was heavenly. Better than Culvers!

Oscars is my favorite local custard joint in all of Southeastern Milwaukee. I've been going here since I was a little girl, so walking into Oscars and smelling the waffle cones and custard automatically puts a smile on my face. The ambiance hasn't changed much in the past decade or so; there are still metal cutouts of people eating ice cream and incredibly detailed sketches of what you can expect in their Turtle Sundaes (probably not necessary, but seems kind of sweet). When it comes to their cheeseburgers I am completely enamored by their mushroom swiss cheeseburger (it has gravy on it ... need I say more?). But the one item that I would say is the best in the state is their onion rings. Now I haven't tasted everyone's onion rings in the state (wish I could say I have), but their onion rings have a completely different batter on them than any other ones I've had. The batter is bread-like and crunchy, keeping the onion soft. If you haven't tried them before I recommend you check them out!

The frozen custard and treats are fresh and very rich. The sandwiches are great for lunch and there is a variety for everyone - very reasonably priced as well.

Great custard. Their single scoop is twice the size of their competitors. The burgers seem much less greasy than others because they are grilled. Some of the monthly sandwich specials are really good and unique. The fries are almost always hot. They have a monthly coupon special on their website.
