My first time visiting, but won't be my last! I had a delicious chai tea latte and a blueberry scone! The atmosphere is wonderful also!

I really enjoy this place - the feel, the staff, the COFFEE! My absolute favorite latte in town. What makes this place really stand out is their "pay it forward" coffee program that allows you to gift a coffee to someone who needs a pick-me-up. They really care about people and their product here and it really, really shows. Highly recommend.

There are two main coffee houses in the downtown area and Cafe de Arts is my first choice for several reasons. I go there for the coffee and the food, next is they have wi-fi and for some reason the other location does not, lastly it is a friendly meeting place. The decor and service are delightful. They roast their own coffee on site. The food is always fresh and my favorite is Art of the Egg. This is my go to spot for coffee meetings in Waukesha

Cute cozy cafe! The owners are very nice and the food is extremely good. The chicken pesto sandwich was excellent!

I love this place. I have known about it for quite some time and never ventured in because they close very early and I could never make it in before they closed for the day. But I made a point to try and I am very happy I did :) Very friendly people and great atmosphere. The food is great and the salads are big enough to satisfy. It's a healthier option downtown. Me: Happy.

Such a great place; amazing food & coffee, and a warm, friendly environment. I try to have lunch or breakfast here once a week - and I buy my coffee beans here on a regular basis. There are so many great options on the menu. The coffee is roasted on the spot and the owner does a wonderful job at that. The owners are incredibly friendly and contribute a lot to the community.

ORDERED: Homemade roasted granola and "The Art of the Egg" sandwich (toasted croissant, swiss cheese, ham, herbed egg, field greens, tomato, onion and while pallet sauce) - $5.95 TASTED: The granola will make the inner hippie in anyone happy. It was served with pepper rubbed apples, oranges, strawberries and blackberries on a small green salad. It was also served with two pieces of white bread honey toast. The sandwich was in a word "soggy". The water from the tomato combined with the melted cheese and white sauce was too much for the croissant to hold up. It had a nice flavor though. I'd recommend ordering this sandwich on a sturdy ciabatta. The tomatoes were like most tomatoes available this time of year, pale and flavorless. This sandwich with summer heirloom tomatoes would be great. COFFEE: I ordered a bold blend that's roasted on site. My sense of smell and taste were dulled because of a cold but I picked up a lot of earthy and chocolate tones with no fruit. Low acidity and smooth finish. I'll return in the future to try the other roasts and espresso. SERVICE & DECOR: Our server was really patient with my barrage of first timer questions. The decor is really bright and fun - pushed to a place I didn't expect in Waukesha. STICKER: There's a sticker that says "Friends don't let friends do Starbucks" or something to that effect. While I get the message I think Starbucks has conditioned consumers to pay $2 for coffee and paved the way for small artisan coffee roasters to find their niche.

Wisconsin Foodie article about this coffee shop was just excellent. I tried it out and agree it's a very unique place. Outdoor seating will be terrific once weather warms up! Try their raisin bread french toast; it's outstanding! Coffee is the BEST around...

A regular Saturday breakfast/coffee stop for me. I Love everything about the place! The staff, food, coffee, atmosphere, it's all great. The only coffee roaster in Waukesha, I buy a pound of beans monthly.

I'm happy to see this family owned business is still going strong. I noticed a while ago that they started having more of a lunch crowd. I'm back in town visiting for a while and decided to check it out again and was pleasantly surprised with the service and quality of food and drink. Coffee: ok Food: good / menu could use some tweaks Vibe: towny. better than average for the area. WiFi: Yes. Plugs: ? Soy Out?: No, in the past I've been hasseled about it, which is really annoying and made me not go back for a while. Wish: I didn't have to beg for both honey and soy. Score: Greek salad is pretty good.

This is a lunchtime favorite for me. I'm lucky that I work extremely close and can enjoy the dishes often. I can't say enough about the staff and their always friendly demeanor. Coffee is roasted right in the front room of the restaurant and although I'm not a coffee person, I do enjoy the smell every time I walk into the shop. They sell coffee by the pound for gifts. I enjoy the chai. As for the food, I believe that I have had everything on the menu and never have had anything that wasn't perfectly delicious. I love the ceasar salad and the prime rib panini. The food is prepared with thought and precision as well in a timely manner, as they know that I'm on a time limit. I have had people meet me there for lunch and we get great service and outstanding food. My mom and I both think of this place every time we are in Waukesha for lunch. I have to try the breakfast and I hear that the apple cookies (that are like turnovers) are wonderful.

Small micro roaster coffee shop with great sandwiches and treats. Small batch roaster who will back fresh beans as small as 1/2 lb. Nice option compared to SB or others who won't weigh and package anything smaller than 12 oz bags. Very friendly owner and his family who shows if you bust your butt ,good things will happen. Sandwiches are fresh made and in my opinion very good. Home made baklava is sooo good and only deserves to be washed down with a good stiff double espresso. Comfortable inside with great art, reading materials and chatter levels much more reasonable than compared to SB, Caribou, etc. You could actually do work while having a cup of great coffee. Parking in back on on side of building. Can't miss the building; it's purple! This is Mainstreet USA small business. Visit when you're in Waukesha

Cafe De Arts is a charming cafe situated in a bright purple house in downtown Waukesha. When we first moved to the area, we would often pass and remark that we really should try stopping by "at the purple house". We're glad we did. The cafe is owned and operated by Ayhan and Gultan Munzer, who are probably the nicest people I have ever met. Seriously - they are so friendly and gracious that it makes you feel good no matter what your prior mood. The interior is very colorful, with art covering the walls and a selection of magazines and newspapers sitting in the corner by the television. It is a casual place, the mood is very inviting and relaxing. Cafe de Arts is unique in that it has its very own small-batch coffee blending and roasting operation - they aren't just reselling you Alterra, Caribou, or Starbucks varieties. The blends that they do serve are extremely fresh and flavorful, and once we tried their coffee a few times, we began to purchase their roasts exclusively for our home. They have recently expanded their menu and it has been a great addition. My particular favorite is their Mediterranean sandwich, which is an egg, herbs, feta cheese, and ham. It was outstanding. My wife typically gets the European sandwich, which she says is delicious as well. The coffee drinks that the Cafe serves are always quite good, and even though it's off menu, their Turkish coffee is superb. My only negative is that the service, when compared to other cafes, can be a bit slow. This is a minor issue, and quite understandable. as it is a two-person operation. I wish I could have marked the review with four and a half stars, because it is a really charming place. It's right by the Farmers market, too, so it is a lovely place to stop before or after your shopping. My suggestion would be to stop by this place and try them out. You wont be disappointed.

The couch! This is the couch where many dreams were thought, promises were made and goals were written down. Why? Because all great things start with great coffee. Great people make great coffee. This family owned roaster gets to know their customers and aims to please. I became a regular just so I could see more of them!! The soup is delicious, their food is clearly made with patience and love. The spiced and ingredients are a unique blend I haven't experienced before. While the prices are a tad bit out of my budget, choosing their soup on a sad day makes it a good day. This location is comfortable, like home with unique music. The outdoor seating gives you a front seat to the uniquely painted business. Inside you see beautiful pictures and art while sitting in some comfortable chairs near outlets.

Stopped by here for lunch during a break in my business trip. Walked out of my way to get here because of the good reviews. I ordered the Chicken Pesto Panini sandwich and it was okay. The bread was nice and crispy but the pesto flavor was lacking and the chicken tasted like the pre packaged kind. Also, I'm 99% positive the chips the food came with is Lays Original, which I like and eat, but didn't expect a high rated place to serve. The food is nowhere near bad but it just didn't hit the spot and I'm left still craving something delicious to munch on. The atmosphere of the place is really nice though and the lady upfront was super sweet and helpful. Perhaps, I just ordered the wrong thing.

This place is wonderful, and the owners Gulten and Ayhan are great people. You can tell that they love what they do and try to make it known that they really appreciate the patronage of their guests. The owners are from Istanbul and they are aiming to serve food and coffee representative of the area they are natively from in Turkey. The menu is very unique, and pretty much everything on it is worth trying. A good variety of breakfast items and lunch items, and some familiar cafe classics as well. Everything is made fresh and to order. This cafe also has a Toper small batch roaster in the front of the shop, and guests are invited to check it out when buying fresh beans. Ayhan roasts and packages a lot of coffee blends and flavored beans, but does have some more traditional beans available too. He has a selection of flavored, espresso, blended, fair trade, and origin beans...something for everyone's unique tastes and likes. I've been consistently satisfied with the coffee I buy from here. There is not a lot of seating indoors, but they do have additional patio seating in warmer months. Service has always been friendly and prompt. Do yourself a favor and try this place out sometime ... If you love coffee and love great food, you will leave happy.

Love at first sight! It's a family business with an artsy interior that isn't pretentious, and the coffee is perfection. Munching on a crispy-topped muffin as I work (free wi-fi) and loving the open, sunny main dining room. Can't wait to try it for lunch! Such a gem.

Friendly owners. Fresh roasted coffee. Delicious food for breakfast and lunch. After buying my roasted coffee beans here (that they roast on-site) for a few months, I finally had the opportunity to eat breakfast here. Such a great decision! I had the Mediterranean breakfast sandwich. It had herbed scrambled eggs, cured ham, provolone, and feta all on a warm ciabatta roll. The fresh green salad on the side was topped with strawberries and a citrus-poppyseed dressing. On separate occasions I've tried their baked in-house pastries. Spectacular! If you're looking for a welcoming cafe with delicious food and coffee, look no further.
