I'd like to start out by saying, this place IS in Watertown. Which is not a small town, by any means, but I was impressed the they had a such restaurant. I've also had sushi other places, in larger cities, so maybe this isn't fair, but I found their sushi mostly just ok, if not "meh". The service was great and our waitress was attentive. The prices seemed reasonable. I got a veggie roll and a peanut avocado roll (which, as it turned out, was just roughly chopped peanuts with avocado, rolled up), as well as a miso soup, which was pretty decent, and a salad, which was, well, what you would expect of most sushi restaurants (watery iceberg lettuce, a few shreds of carrots, one slice of cucumber, and some weird creamy dressing. My sister got the bento box. They were very accommodating with her, as she's vegan, and made substitutions without question. Let's be clear. The waitress asked her if MSG was okay in her food. So yeah, they use MSG. That would be good to know. That being said, I realize it's an asian restaurant, but I have yet to see one outright using MSG. The food was so-so, the prices were decent. I wouldn't return.

A total surprise in Watertown, this place is good! I ordered a shrimp tempura roll and an avocado peanut roll, and both were fresh-tasting and nicely portioned. My boyfriend ordered the beef fried rice, which he said was just ok. They also have 4-5 Japanese beers on the menu, which was a cool addition to our meal. Reasonably priced too - 2 beers, 2 rolls, fried rice, and a dessert for $30. Food ranks more like a 3 star place, but I give it 4 stars because of its location - it is virtually the only place to get decent Japanese food in the Watertown/Lake Mills/Jefferson area, which makes this an easy pick to fulfill your sushi craving.

Awesome food, wide variety of sushi rolls and excellent service, all at a good price. I try to go at least every other week just to try something new and I live 20 miles away.

First time here ever. Had the spicy salmon, spicy tuna, rainbow roll and dragon roll. All were excellent especially the rainbow. All different kinds of fish in one large roll. So good! Awesome tea. Our waitress was great and very attentive to everything we needed. I loved the decor too. We had a cozy booth so I could chat with my dinner companion. Will be back soon for sure.

"I can't believe that we actually go to Watertown for sushi!" -My wife, every time we go here. In Madison we have our fair share of larger sushi places and there's nothing terribly wrong with them. But I like the intimate atmosphere at Saki House and their food is perfect. Plus, our good friends live close by and they love this place too so it is a perfect excuse to get out of town for a great meal. We usually start with their salad complete with ginger dressing. I could buy that dressing by the gallon if they sold it - it's perfectly flavored and often I am left wanting more. The salad is cold and crisp and not drowning in water, like other places tend to do. My wife usually gets a bento box, which comes with rice, the rolls she wants, soup, and some other things I can't even remember now. She always eats all of it - and she's picky! My friend, his wife, and I usually order a ton of different rolls to share among the four of us. Each roll takes a little while to make but the wait is completely worth it. The rolls that are spicy are spicy. The fish is perfect in taste, texture, and presentation. The namesake of the restaurant, the saki, is also very good. We usually get a few warm sakis among us all and it really is good. You can't go wrong here. Take it from a guy who commutes from the foodie capital of Wisconsin just to eat here.

Very simple restaurant with great sushi. Really good food, but no liquor and very limited beer selection. Staff was very friendly and helpful

My favorite restaurant--so happy they came to Beaver Dam. Service is always great and the owner is wonderful. Love the wine choices, as well. Like the atmosphere and it works for a nice night out or a casual stop after work. My daughter and I eat here often, and I have yet to try something I don't like.

Food was great. Very clean. Went for the first time last night. The only thing we didn't like was how small it was inside. Not enough room on the table for multiple rolls when you have a party of 4 or more. But other then that it was great!

Finally! Watertown has a Japanese place! Having had to put up with mediocre Chinese for years, we now have another Asian option in our little burgh. I do not consider myself an expert on Japanese cuisine, but I have had the chance to eat at a dozen or so places around the country during my travels. This restaurant is above average in my opinion and deserves the support of the community. It was also the first exposure to my wife and son to Japanese and they also were impressed. We kept it basic, with a couple of California rolls, chicken fried rice, spring rolls, and a shrimp tempura bento box for me. The family enjoyed the California roll. Like all newbies, they were tentative at first, but I assured them you can't go wrong with California. The bento box was as you expect - more food than one person can eat. It's not the best anywhere, but it's the best Asian in Watertown. And it doesn't cost any more than the places two doors in either direction.

Excellent, the quality of the sushi is well above average. This is not a teppanyaki style restaurant, you are seated at your own table and they do not have a griddle in them. You order from a menu and the food is brought out to you. The star of this place is the sushi, they do have a Japanese style sushi bar where one may sit and observe the sushi prepared in front for all to see. The ingredients taste fresh and delicious, excellent texture and smells appetizing. I plan on returning often.

This was our first time at this place. We were here out of town visiting our relative in water town. This place surprise us by their fresh good quality sushi. The service also fantastics. My sister in law tried her first sushi and she liking the sushi. I highly recommend this place for sushi starter and sushi lover. This is one of the best sushi I've had for long time.

Love it! My husband isn't a big sushi fan while I am. So there's plenty for him to eat while I enjoy very fresh and reasonably priced yummy sushi. Even a kid menu our very picky 3 yr old enjoys. Super friendly staff and very nice comfortable atmosphere. Even do takeout!

It's Watertown.... with Sushi....not San Francisco or Miami -- that being said - the Miso Soup was fantastic. Our server was excellent! Friendly, funny and very happy to answer questions. My friend and I both had a Bento box and we were pleasantly surprised! The salad was good as well. All the ingredients were fresh and the service was great. I'd definitely go there again. The place is cute, clean and comfortable. We enjoyed our experience, which is great because so far food in Watertown isn't exactly great.

I used to make the drive to beaver dam for sake house sushi. Now one is in town. I really don't know how you can best the quality in Wisconsin. Everything, sushi, sashimi and hibachi items are excellent. The atmosphere is quite nice and the service is always friendly and prompt. I recommend the sake house roll which is not on the menu, but always available.
