I love this bar. Lyons is great bar with a lot of great beer and whiskey to choose from. They have music most weekends.

This place is nice, friendly. A great place to gather with friends or coworkers. The drinks were great and so was the service. However, they were out of Guinness. It's an Irish pub and it was out of Guinness. Also, they had a piano player there. It made for a weird vibe to have "Ring of Fire" and some '50s music banged out on the piano. I guess we just went there on an off night.

Lyons is the best bar environment in Watertown. It caters more to the middle-aged professional crowd rather than the younger wild partiers. They refuse to blast obnoxious music which allows patrons to carry on normal conversation. The interior is beautiful and there are several parts of the bar to have a group of friends circle around. The food options are limited to grilled sandwiches from the bar's electric griddle. They are good, but definitely bit the draw here. They keep about 8 quality beers on tap (Irish beers, New Glarus, Goose Island). Jim and Carol are wonderful people who recognize you by your second time in the pub. I would prefer to give them 4.5 stars with a half stat deducted for the limited menu.

The food is surely poor. The sandwiches are made from grocery store pressed corned beef. The owner even blurted out she purchased the finest quality cornedbeef from Woodmans, when I said we were not interested in eating the lunchmeat. There were a total of 5 people in the bar, and it still took 25 minutes to get a couple junior high café quality lunchmeat sandwiches to the table. Rest.com coupon is the reason we gave them a try, very poor experience.

A great bar with a welcoming small town feeling. The selection of beers was great, and the conversation was really nice.

Stopped in here the day before St. Patrick's Day (St. Patrick's Day fell on a Sunday this year) to enjoy some adult beverages and music. I understand that given the day the normal routine had been disrupted. We had to go into another part of the bar to order from a very limited menu; we ordered two small Shepard's pies. They seemed to be nothing more then yesterday's beef stew with a scoop of mashed potatoes on top. I have most definitely had better. The bar itself was nice but not an Irish bar. It was like any other bar with the addition of some Irish proverbs painted on the walls and a better selection of Irish beers. The place was missing the traditional "snug". If you have been to an Irish bar you will know that this is a small private room with in the bar. The band for the evening was not very good. They were suppose to start at 7:00 PM so we arrived early to assure we had a spot from which to enjoy the band. They started a half hour late, the sound was horrible, and they did not finish the first three songs started (due to the poor sound). When the sound issue was corrected the band attempted to sing an Irish song (Black Velvet Band) but started it in the 3rd verse completely skipping over the first two which set up the rest of the song. Now I don't hold the quality of the band against the pub, but you think they would try to get a top notch band for the festivities on an evening of St. Patrick's Day weekend. The place is worth a stop in just for the selection of beers and I will be going back to see what a normal day is like there.

A taste of Ireland. A warm interior and welcoming hosts make this pub a standout in the area. There is fine selection of beer here (both local and from Ireland) as well as a nice selection of scotch and whiskeys. Spacious with an additional room for group functions. There are many tables and a large bar to sit at. Also an intimate sitting area to relax. The music is pleasant (varying from celtic, standards and local bands). There is a constant variety of live Irish music(modern, rock & traditional) and kept at a conversational level I have been coming to this pub for sometime now and I have yet to be there to see bad service as indicated by other reviews. I can see how they are limited with a sizable crowd but what bar isn't challenged by that? Addressing the criticism of the food there. It does not have a "kitchen" and dishes are either prepared on the spot or have warmed up for service. It doesn't not claim to be a restaurant or is it a dining experience. However, I have found the sandwiches and soups delicious and reasonably priced. I highly recommend the Reuben. I have been to many bar in Ireland and a snug is no qualification in what makes a a place "Irish". It is the people and the craic. Lyons exceeds in both.

By far the best pub in Watertown! Lyons actually looks and feels like an Irish pub. There are many free bar games available to play while enjoying a beer or other cocktail. The woodwork is phenomenal, a lot of great detail in this place. The live music on the weekends is definitely a plus! The owners are fantastic people, definitely worth getting to know them and learn a little bit about the history of the building, you will be surprised! Overall, a great place to hang out and enjoy a good beer. Very highly recommended!

Great, comfortable pub! The owners are friendly, the drinks are reasonable, and they have live Irish music on weekends. The finishing touch is the decks of cards at the tables. Truly a place to meet friends and make new ones. A breath of fresh air in Watertown.

I wish I could give Lyons more stars, I really do. I like the place. It was non-smoking before the new laws took effect. Nice owners. Great selection of beers. Live music many weekends. Problem is, it's getting too successful. Last time we were there was after an event at the high school. The place was jammed. At least 100 people in there. Loud. Just the two behind the bar and a hapless waitress trying her best to go from table to table. Because of the crush, the owners focused on their regular clientele and us not so regular folks were left wanting. After 15 minutes at the bar trying to get service, we had to leave. Which is sad, because it's the only bar in town that I'll go to.

It seems not being a regular puts you in last place for service at this beautiful bar, no matter how many people are in this tavern. The owners always seemed too be busy talking to someone else to get us a beer. Until, that is, they feel the need to get up. I understand a wait at a busy bar but not when there's only six people in the bar. Nice surrounding be damned, I only go in Lyon's for a birthday party or if I'm dragged in kicking a screaming.
