Sauce has the juiciest burgers on the block. They have many innovative options and the malts are deliciously cold. THe cheese curds are the bomb.command I coiddt eat them all day

Wow. Sauce apparently underwent some changes, and is now serving gourmet burgers and shakes. Serving the best burger I think I may have ever had. The fries were good, the malt was good, but the burger was simply awesome. Perfectly seasoned and perfectly cooked. The menu is filled with interesting burgers/toppings. I got a burger with fresh pico de gallo and guac on it, and it was marvelous. But next time I think I will just get a plain one. Well done, Sauce! You have earned a repeat customer from Duluth! I can't wait to come back.

Wonderful new restaurant opened up in Washburn. Although you cannot tell from the outside, which is quite plain, and bland, once you enter the door you are in for a real treat. Soft music, dim lighting, intimate dining, and friendly staff topped with gourmet foods made for an amazing dining experience. We were very pleasantly surprised, and will be back.

Newer place, nice to get the bugs out before heading in for a good meal. They DO have the bugs out and everything was splendid. From the service to the meal, all was very good. I dined tonight with two locals that heard that a few people had dined here and the food was good. Looking at the outside of the restaurant it doesn't look like an eating establishment but it sure is. The three of us all had something different from the salads to the main course.. For an appetizer we had baked artichoke with two different sauces which was different from and other artichokes that I've had before. The artichokes were like mini chips but not too crisp or crunchy. We had the Greek Salad, Italian Salad and the Bok Choi with turkey. The soup was the best of the three, very creamy and the turkey added a nice light salty taste. The salads were good also but were basic salads. The main courses were beef tenderloin medallions, arancini (risotto balls with a light crisp outer shell) and scallops. Everything was outstanding! I loved the scallops that were done to perfection, the risotto was delicious without the marinara aside and the tenderloin had a wonderful sauce. Can't wait to come back to this place but please but an awning on the front to make it look like a restaurant. I'll be back!

Brought here by a friend that had eaten here last fall. Not much to look at from the outside but the sign for the jumbo shrimp special caught eye. When I walked in I thought we would be the only diners. We went to a room on the side and there were several more guests. The owner of the restaurant waited on is as the usual waitress was sick. She did a great job,told us a lot about the food and answered all or questions. The meal was fantastic! I had the jumbo shrimp and was not disappointed. The Bayfield / Washburn area is fortunate to have this culinary gem as a dining option. Check it out.

You know those places that are quirky and cute, a little oddball but the food and service really make it stand out. Yeah, Sauce is not one of those places. Quirky it is-Only a selection of 5 or so liquors and no sodas makes getting a Crown and Ginger completely null and void. The soup was a Thai peanut ginger with pork yet the appetizers and entrees skew italian. I am ok with a wide variety of food if it delivers in quality and taste but Sauce falls flat. The arancini balls were good (a better risotto base would have made for a creamier finish) but the entree I ordered (new york strip with black truffle salt and truffler butter) fell flat. I should have known when the menu describes the steak as "cooked medium" yet I went for it. Even when I asked for medium rare, the thinness of the cut didn't allow for a cook pink center. And at $26, the end product didn't justify the expense. I can appreciate a restaurant starting small and carrying a limited menu but to do that, you have to deliver exceptional food so that people want to come back. It didn't. And therefore, I won't be back.
