For Mother's Day I surprised my mom and "kidnapped" her for the weekend, not telling her where we were going or what we were doing. After about 8 days of research, trying to pick a location and the best B&B to take my mom to, I kept coming back to Pedal'rs Inn and finally decided this was the one. When we got to the inn, the innkeeper Dee greeted us at the door and my mom was still clueless as to where we were and why. We were taken up to our beautiful and spotless guest room where outside the room there was a refreshments table of coffee, tea, water, cookies, and soft drinks. Needless to say, once I explained the big weekend surprise to my mom, she was stunned. Since my mom has been to several B&Bs before, I wanted to make sure that I chose the very best for her special trip, and after even the first 45 minutes there, we could tell that it exceeded expectations. Dee offered to make dinner reservations for us at the local restaurants, sat in the front room and talked with us for a while as if we were visiting extended family, and even let us keep the plants we bought from the local farmers market on their property and she and her husband, Rick, watered them for us so they stayed healthy during our 2 night stay. Her 4 course breakfasts are gourmet and out of this world, and the service was exceptional. In the area we had dinner at Revere's Tavern in Delafield, attended a tea at the Watt's Tea Shop in downtown Milwaukee, and had dinner Saturday night at La Estacion in Waukesha. Each place was unique and fun in its own way (though the service at La Estacion could have been better). Since I had never had a B&B experience before, I consulted my mom after the trip had ended and asked how that compares to what she's been to previously and the words out of her mouth were, "oh, THAT, was a Grade A B&B. It's is a place that you'll base all of your future B&B experiences off of; if they're done correctly, they'll be like this one was". My mom was over joyed with the entire weekend and experience, we both were not looking forward to our departure back to Chicago, but we look forward to coming back to the Pedal'rs Inn again in the future and recommending it to any and all of our friends and family.

The Pedalr's Inn B&B is the first B&B I have ever been to. It is certainly one we will be returning to again. Dee is very attentive to her guests and when we had our in-room breakfast she even knew what sugars my wife & I used. The room is decorated excellently and keeps in frame with the Victorian era without going overboard. We stayed in Bedchamber 4 which encompasses the whole third floor. It was very spacious and the tub in the en-suite bathroom was very comfortable, with the shower being very large as well. Dee created excellent meals for us and they were very flavorful. We felt almost guilty consuming the excellent plates that we were given. We highly recommend Pedalr's Inn B&B.

B&B's are a great alternative to mainstream chain hotels/motels. You get a much more personal experience, a taste of the local flavor and great insights into the area you're visiting. Pedalr's Inn was no exception. We were pleased with our stay, however I have some "caveats" to pass on that have not been mentioned. First the great and the good: - The breakfast food. Dee, The Innkeeper, is an accomplished chef. The breakfasts were a high-class, multi course affairs. Everything fresh and superb, from sorbet "palate cleanser" to a creative and refreshing fruit salad, fluffy pancakes, delicious ham, french toast, great dessert. Everything worthy of the fanciest big city hotels. Dee will make sure your food allergies and any dietary restrictions are accommodated. - The bedrooms are very comfortable. We stayed in the smallest one and were more than satisfied. The bathroom had a great big shower space. The linens and towels were clean and fresh and there were very nice comfy robes provided. There were also brochures about parks and towns in the area and menus from restaurants nearby, which was very helpful. There is free Wi-Fi, so you can search on your iPad/laptop. - The decorations in the room and around the house included a number of very cool bicycle models. Now, the "caveats": - Dee is obviously a person with a very strong religious background. Many decorations throughout the house have a religious theme. Dee leads the table in saying grace before breakfast can begin. This may be a welcome practice for middle-aged couples from around the Midwest, however for someone of a less traditional background this may be somewhat awkward. This was also never mentioned beforehand and was a surprise. - Also related to breakfast, it starts around 8:30 and because of the way the courses are structured, you should expect to stay at the table until 10 or so. - The front door lock is a bit tricky, I recommend trying to work it while Dee is there to show you how. This B&B is very nice overall and Dee will accommodate any reasonable request, so you can probably arrange a more private breakfast in your room to avoid the issue I mentioned, especially if you're not up to socializing with the other guests.

Stay was perfect. Owner Dee went above and beyond to make this stay amazing and relaxing. She gave good advices on local activities and businesses, including calling them and finding out additional information. This was very helpful. Breakfast was amazing! Room was beyond dream and overall experience was amazing!

Very reasonable, quaint, and comfortable. The owners, Dee and Rick, were very accommodating and helpful with answering questions and a special request. EXCELLENT food and great recommendations for local dinner cuisine & atmosphere. Very pleasant stay in a small town that is perfect for a relaxing get-away.

This is a small 4 guest room B&B. Proprietor Dee N. couldn't have been nicer and more accommodating. Very comfortable bed and sheets. Very quiet sleep. Great breakfast served to our room on the 3 floor! Ask for Bedchamber 4 which includes the double tub and walk in shower. Located in the Southern Kettle Morraine area, there is plenty of outdoor activities (hiking, biking, skiing, etc.). We went cross country skiing at Nashotah Park, just 20 miles north. Conditions were great in late December. Great local restaurants, too.
