This is the classic old American truck stop. A little bigger than most diners with a much larger menu and breakfast all day long. The service was good and fast. Even though they were busy our food came out in minutes. The food was good, not great. The noodles in the chicken noodle soup were like mom used to make, but the rest of the soup was bland. The rueben and eggs benedict were very good, but nothing special. It is convenient and I would stop here again without a second thought.

We love stopping here on road trips. Reasonable prices and good food. But note they do not sell beer and wine.

Four stars for what it is...diner food on the road. Ambiance is pure diner with no frills. Wait staff is seasoned and food comes out fast. A cut above what I'd expect from a roadside diner -- big portions, good comfort food. Had a turkey bacon wrap and the turkey was carved from a bird, not the non-descript lunch meat variety that is typical. Chicken and dumplings soup had lots of dumplings (spaetzle-like) although the broth was boullion cube quality (which I actually like). If you want hearty, homestyle cooking with reasonable prices ($8.39 for turkey wrap, fries and soup), look no further.

Good food, great service, neat atmosphere, and very reasonably priced. Plus, they have free WiFi, which was a lifesaver for me! Would definitely recommend for the small town/ roadside diner experience!

We drove in starving, the service was fast and friendly, the food was hearty and home style, I had a Reuben, H had the meatloaf special. I would rate this a 4.63 if I could (look closely at the menu - you'll know why).

We have stopped there twice while passing through. Food is pretty good and the service is great. Breakfast is decent, wholesome and reasonable priced. Food - Pancakes are great here. Breakfast burrito is outstanding. Have only had breakfast here so I can't speak for other meals but if breakfast is any indication, the rest should be good. I'd recommend them as a decent cafe/dinner

Thorpedo serves typical diner fare, and they do it very well. I had dinner here twice during my stay in the area. The homemade soups are a high point. Service is friendly and prompt. I had steak one evening and pork chops the next. I ordered the steak medium and it was served rare, but they responded to my request to have it cooked more without batting an eyelash. It came back quickly and it was delicious. Not like Cattlemen's or Ruth's Chris back home, but for a family restaurant it was much better than I would have expected and a great value for the price. So were the pork chops. Thorpedo is right off highway 29 in Thorp and is ideal for a meal stop on a road trip. You can't be in such a hurry that you'd go for fast food when you could gas up next door and have real food at Thorpedo.

Always the best diner food you can get! Speedy service and fresh homemade soups and menu items top this off and make it a true diamond in the rough. Never pass this one by! The building is old but the food is superb.

Food was good, service was OK, small-town, country charm decor circa 1975. For the area it is a decent meal for the price - but won't stack up to what you would find in a larger city. Truck-stop/cafe all the way.

Stopped in for a quick bite and left very satisfied. It's hard to find good food when you're on the road and that makes this place a find to remember. My husband got the club sandwich, which was outstanding and I got soup and salad. Not gourmet by any means, but not worse for it.

Stopped in on our usual trip between Minneapolis and Wausau... Stopped here as a kid but usually pass it by because we don't "have time" for a real meal. I won't make that mistake again, as we got our meal in lightning fast time and it was delicious. Good value, home cooking. Oh, and did I mention they have about 4,000 items on the menu? Stop in, you'll be glad you did.

This is a great place to get a sit down meal quickly with friendly service. Lots of options on the menu at a reasonable price. They also have great pies for dessert!

Stopped for brunch on our way through the state. Super fast service, good food and very reasonably priced. The place is a bit outdated but has that casual, family-friendly feel. Definitely got the stare down from some of the "regulars" as we were not from town.

Classic American Diner food. The chicken soup was excellent. Everything else was okay but mediocre. However, given the other local options I'd stop here again if I was hungry.

If you are looking for a clean, reasonably priced place to stop for a nice meal...this is the place! We were lucky enough to find this little gem on a recent road trip. It was perfect for our needs...quick, but not a greasy fast food chain. Service was friendly, food was great, restaurant was clean, Typical diner/comfort food...burgers, breakfast all day, and great homemade desserts. Kind of like we stepped back in time...but in a good way!
