This is pretty much my Father-In-Law's favorite restaurant, so every year we have the family XMas party here, although I wish I'd be in the area more often to enjoy. The "Olive Garden" comparisons are pretty unfair. I don't even like OG, I think they add a bunch of garlic to there pasta and call it Italian. While this isn't the best Italian I've ever had, it ranks up high for what I've had in Milwaukee. Dare I say it's better than some of the Italian restaurants that have a high ranking on yelp. While people might be scared off by the higher prices, these are certainly the largest portions you can get at a restaurant. Unless you're really hungry (like I was on this trip), you're probably bringing home half your meal. Some plates are better than others. My nephew had the fried chicken, and I remember that was just okay, but this trip I had the Shrimp and Crab Ravioli which was spectacular. The cheese ravioli in the creamy white sauce would have been good on its own, but add a generous helping of crab and shrimp to the mix and you have something awesome. I've had a good chunk of the menu now over multiple trips the past few years, and I have yet to say that a trip here wasn't totally worth it. Added points for having New Glarus on tap and having bottles of the Italian beer Peroni. The dining area has been beautifully redone in the last few years, complete with painted murals on the wall. They can easily accommodate large groups (like our group of 15), but make sure to call ahead since they get busy real quick. Case in point, we got here at 3PM yesterday and outside our group, there was one other couple sitting in a booth. By the time we left at 5:30 PM, the dining room was almost full. Definitely worth a stop if you're hungry and in the area.

I've ordered pizza here multiple times. Sometimes the pizza is unbelievable, sometimes it's the worst pizza I. It's a chance game here

Rubbery pasta, very uneven temperature, waitresses too focused on their boyfriends in the end booth to even approach good service. Worst. Meal. Ever.

Paisano's pizza is great - and the Bigfoot Pizza is HUGE! It's perfect for a game day party. Be sure to order early for pickup, because it's popular. I've only dined in at Paisano's once, and it was good but not exceptional. The atmosphere is pleasant - a family restaurant. It might not be my choice for date night, but it has become my go-to place for carry out pizza.

The pizza at paisanos is a little on the greasy side now. Not sure what happened because it used to be very good a few years back when we first moved out here. However, this is one of my favorite places to get soup. I have yet to try wings or ribs there, but would be willing to give it a shot. Not bad.

All due respect to the FTR'er with a one sentence five-star review (business owner?)....but Paisano's, while being a great addition to South Milwaukee dining, still needs some work to earn those stars. Came here with the family on a Saturday night. Sat in the open, loud upstairs room. I could vaguely hear some music from the downstairs area, Frank Sinatra, the typical Italian music, but could barely hear it upstairs. They've got a start on a nice dining area, but it could use some tweaks. It's a little sterile. The food was okay. There's definitely no lack of portions, here! Soup or salad is offered with most entrees, salad was fresh iceberg lettuce, cabbage, tomato. Soup of the day was chix noodle or Northern bean, my dad had the chix noodle and the bowl was huge. Like, too big for just a pre-meal soup. Weird. A few of us had the baked rigatoni or baked mostacioli, both were good, but mom's is better, and she's not even Italian. It was just lacking in flavor. My mom and grandma both ordered the Bomber, which was huge, but also came with a full side of pasta...both said the Bomber at Subway was better, had more real meaty flavor. I kind of trusted them on that opinion. Paisano's service was good. They have a full bar and a selection of beers and wines. It's a okay/average place to take the family, and you'll definitely have leftovers! A-OK, with room for improvement.

Wonderful food, adorable and polite delivery man, and huge portions! We order food for delivery and I had a couple very small special request, they actually called me to make sure it was correct instead of guessing and sending it anyway. Very refreshing,

We often come in for breakfast and order delivery for pizza. Breakfast is very good and more than reasonably priced. The pizza is great and they usually have great specials when you're looking to feed a group of people at home. Wait staff is always super friendly and I've never been here and NOT seen the owner and/or his wife coming out to shake hands and say hello. Made it down to the lower level bar a few times. Small and cozy, fully stocked bar and a great deal if you order pizza, wings and a pitcher of beer for $20. Not too bad for a quick dinner in a laid back atmosphere!

This is more of a diner than an Italian restaurant, I find the name quite misleading. On a Saturday night, we were the only ones there, though we could hear some people having lots of fun in the snug little bar downstairs. There's lots of room here, I get the feeling the crowd is mainly senior citizens who can walk here, the place is probably busy from morning through the early bird special. My spaghetti was very overcooked, as if it had been made hours ago and left in warm water, completely unacceptable at a place called "Paisano's;" the red sauce was acidic, bland, seemingly free of any herbs, it quite possibly came out of a big can. The red wine I had by the glass was a crime against grapes. The service was quite good, friendly, attentive, however you should note that we were the only two people in the whole restaurant for the hour we were there on a Saturday night, at 7 p.m. This might be a good choice for lunch if you work near by and don't have time to get somewhere with better food.

My take: this place is actually a Greek restaurant posing an an Italian restaurant! For one thing, they serve breakfast. The interior seems a bit bland with a tile floor, not decorated robustly like traditional Italian restaurants. Oddly, there was also no background music. But, they do a lot of carryout business. The food is tasty and portions are large. Prices are a little on the high side for what this is. The bill was $70 for the 4 of us. Granted, we had 2 appetizers, which were completely unneccessary (after these I could only take 2 bites of my entree!). Soda was $2.25 each....hmmm, should be more like $1.50, but here I am being picky and parsimonius. Another thing, each dinner comes with pudding. Tiramisu I would have appreciated! Here again they let it slip this is a Greek restaurant. BTW, the pudding was awful. Like I said, otherwise solid and flavorful food. Would use again, maybe for carryout.

Huge portion of decent enough food + Fish fry + cheap beer + lots of old people in the neighborhood = recipe for success. Classic formula. I was expecting to absolutely torch this place with a one-star review. I had heard so much about it from my family members who practically live here, that I had decided that any place that my brother loves that much, I should really hate. I was wrong. I'm sorry for the prejudgment. In all fairness, Paisano's is very appropriate for the area. It's in South Milwaukee and is probably one of the nicer restaurants in the area. Now don't get me wrong, it can't hold a candle to Ristorante Bartollata, but you wouldn't expect it to. Its probably pretty close to Olive Garden quality, and that's meant as a compliment. I've seen other restaurants come and go in this area, and I feel that Paisano's will probably be around for a while. I finally stoped in for lunch with four loud co-workers recently. We ordered a appetizer sampler and a pizza as big as the table, but I think every waitress in the place helped out at our table. The pizza was decent, and I'm not kidding about the size. We failed to finish it though (losers). We left maybe enough to fill a to-go box. If I was in the area, I would order the pizza for take-out over Pizza Hut, but I wouldn't drive clear across town for it. I was very impressed with the re-model job they did prior to opening. Everything is clean and new. There is a "lounge" (read= bar) in the basement. Lots of parking too (but not in the basement). What impressed me about our visit was the friendly service; right out of south-side waitress central casting.

Better than I expected. Hopefully business picks up, the place was pretty empty for dinner time.

Met a friend here (in the basement bar) last night for a beer and some wings ($.50 every day). I was shocked to see Fat Tire and Spotted Cow on tap, score. Their wings were delicious, meaty, and the spicy garlic sauce was literal... It was a bit spicy (not too bad), and it was garlic. LOTS and LOTS of garlic. As a matter of fact, you could see the garlic as they were carrying the platter out of the kitchen. They dice their garlic into small bits and mix copious amounts into the sauce and spread it over the wings. If you're a garlic fan, this is your dish. You could actually chew the garlic. lol. The basement is small, (tiny as a matter of fact). But everyone was very friendly, and there was a big group eating next to us, so it was very lively and fun downstairs. Would recommend (for the wings and beer at least)

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
