Italian Cuisine
The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.
Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.
If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
Pizza
Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country. While the base and the texture of Pizza remains same across the globe, it's the toppings that differs from country to country. In the United States, you will find the top pizzerias serving pizzas with the toppings of mainly beef, bacon, chicken, ham, and sausage for the non-vegetarians. Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.
Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Pizza is hot favorite among people of all ages in the United States. A large size pizza is enough to feed a family of 3 or 4 at large. Pizza is also the most preferred food whenever a group of friends is hanging out together. Pizza gained popularity in the United States after the American soldiers stationed in Italy returned from World War II.
Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations. Pizza gained popularity as the iconic dish in the United States in the second half of the 20th century. Whether you prefer thin or thick crust pizza, you can find a pizza of your preference at the best pizza restaurants in your city.

So we were in Sheboygan for a graduation at Lakeland College over the weekend. We decided to stop here to have dinner because we didn't want to venture too far from La Quinta Inn. At first impression, it was a pretty laid back spot and the staff was very friendly. I'm don't know much about Italian Food so I always stick to Lasagna and a glass of Lambrusco to be safe. For some reason, my family decided to order fish. That beats me because if they wanted fish, we could have went to another restaurant. Anyway, another family member ordered the sausage with green peppers and onions. All of the meals came with soup, salad, and garlic bread except mines. I just got salad and garlic bread. So the fish, there were 2 kinds: Perch and Cod Both had regular batter and came out fresh and crispy. However, the Perch didn't have much flavor and the cod was crispy on the outside, but had some areas that weren't so crispy on the inside. The Lasagna was okay, but I really liked the meat sauce. I thought that the meat sauce didn't have much meat until half way through my meal, I saw all of the meat on side of my plate underneath the lasagna. I did get one giant meatball though which was pretty nice. The salad was basic, but I'm not a big fan of iceberg lettuce salad so I would have rather preferred more green leaves. The Italian dressing was pretty good. Again, the staff was great and was very attentive. My family enjoyed their dishes, but we all agreed on the aforementioned above. Oh, and the Lambrusco was okay, but tasted better with the lasagna.

The fact that Tiger Woods ate here doesn't say much about his taste or judgment the fact that The amount that he tipped was publish in the paper the next day.pretty much proves the point I would avoid this place if at all possible.

We stopped in about 7:30 on Saturday night; most of the crowd had thinned out. It's good, inexpensive food; although I think they rely on a food service company for most of it. The staff is nice. They have a decent selection of wine.

We have always enjoyed dining at Luigi's Italian Restaurant in Sheboygan. My family are huge pasta fans, and Luigi's is a great family style Italian Restaurant. Normally we enjoy dinner there, but today, my husband and I decided to try lunch. My husband ordered one of our favorite pasta dishes, the Mostaccioli Caprese pasta. (picture attached) It is served with a fresh side salad and a large portion of garlic bread. It is always the best. Since it was lunch, I decided to try a couple lighter items that I've never tried before at Luigi's. I ordered the Tomato Caprese Salad, which was so very fresh, and also a cup of their MInestrone Soup (pictures attached). The Minestrone was served in a very generous cup/bowl! It was outstanding! After enjoying both the Tomato Caprese Salad and the Minestrone Soup, I was very full and satisfied. After finishing our meal, we both decided to make Luigi's a regular lunch stop when we're in the neighborhood, and not just for dinner! BTW--They also have great pizza!!

I travel frequently to this area for work and will be making this my new stop for dinner! Soup and Pizza were great and the house Pinot Noir was also yummy. The atmosphere was comfortable, the owner (from Sicily) was out speaking with customers and the wait staff were very friendly. Ingredients were fresh with large portions all for a reasonable price. I also splurged on a Cannoli....worth the extra calories!

Tiger Woods ate here. What else is there to know? Decent selection of Italian fare. The portobello ravioli and the parmigiana eggplant were excellent. The staff was attentive and friendly to my kids. If we are ever in the area again, we will be back.

This is my first Yelp Review and don't think this should be filtered. Also, because of being disapointed, decided to open up a Yelp account and share our dining experience. Bottom Line: Waitress was very good, honest and knowledgeable. Serving sizes are very large. Food is average. Recommend only ordering those entree's w/half order and I am a pretty large eater. Was going to order the Lobster Ravioli, however when I asked for fresh/shredded parm cheese they said they don't have any and I can use the shaker etc.. Then I asked while pointing to the higher end seafood pasta entrees, how do you make those. Changed my order when found out the Lobster was imitation and was less than the seafood spaghetti. Red flag for anyone ordering crab or lobster thats unshelled is its probably imitation! Reason the shrimp, mussels, clams & calamari cost more!! PS Stayed because of waitresses honesty and choice of a favorie local pasta plate.

The food quality was good for a road side diner - like Italian restaurant, but its not a place where I would want to eat more than once every-now-and-again.

Although the decor of the place is somewhat run down, the food here was excellent and the portions were large. I had the philly steak sub, which was very good. My wife and son shared a peperoni pizza, which was excellent. Would definitely recommend.

On a recent Friday evening, we were visiting Sheboygan and decided to visit Luigi's. On the board when we walked in were listed the specials, one of which said Shrimp Parmigiana, salad and garlic bread. I thought that sounded great and was excited to get my meal. When our waitress brought our food, I had a large plate with 5 shrimp covered in cheese and sauce. It wasn't until she left that I discovered there was no pasta under all of that cheese and sauce. Everytime I have ever ordered "something parmigiana".... chicken, shrimp, and even fish parmigiana once, it was always served with pasta. Naturally I assumed my shrimp parmigiana would be served with pasta and there was nothing to indicate it wouldn't be. When our waitress finally came back, which took quite a while, I asked because I honestly thought maybe someone forgot to put the pasta on the plate. She told us that no, with the special you just get garlic bread and salad, the pasta is extra. I was speechless. I said, oh, I thought someone forgot the pasta. She told me that you had to order the dinner and not the special to get the pasta. Maybe she could have offered some at that point, or I guess I could have ordered some, but by then we just wanted to finish up and leave. Besides the problem with the order, the waitress was so-so at best.
