One word....WOW!!! Only downside of this little gem is that the restaurant is not that big & has a very small dining room......but......it was worth the wait!!! Something for everyone....even the most finickest palate. Wonderful vegetarian options. Their portobello sandwich is to die for!!!! I cannot wait to go back!!! Their baked French onion soup and monkey fries are A-M-A-Z-I-N-G!!!! The service is as fantastic as the food they serve!! This may be one of my new favorite restaurants. We will definitely go back!!

Loved, loved, loved the Reuben! The corned beef was shredded rather than poor quality slices that you get everywhere else. Our server was fantastic! I will drive out of my way to come here again!

Nice little place. Charming old house turned bar and restaurant over 100 years ago. If your in the area choices are limited so this place is a local stand out. We were at the ski resort near by and stopped for dinner and drinks. Had the pulled pork sandwich and corn-beef egg rolls. Was better than average and lets face it there isn't many choices. I would highly recommend if near by.

Excellent food. I was very impressed for "pub food". The English Chips with truffle oil and Parmesan cheese was great. The Hog Wings were tender and flavorful. The food wasn't over seasoned and everything was cooked to perfection. I will definitely come here again for a great meal and Guinness on tap!

Best Lake Perch that I've had! Had to wait a lil bit at the bar but that was to be expected on a Friday night during Lent. DEFINITELY WORTH THE WAIT! Crab cakes were outstanding and recommended. We will be returning for the food and awesome staff!!

Everything we had was excellent. The monkey fries are a huge, delicious appetizer that we would get ever time. The Reuben was outstanding. The brisket was tender and very flavorful. The French dip was moist and delicious. The fish tacos were crunchy and fantastic. Service was great with a very friendly server. Would highly recommend stopping in!

Excellent local pub that's been around since God was a baby. Good food and good beer. Try the fish fry with potato pancakes! You might have to wait for a seat on the weekends for a seat. Take out offered.

From the looks of it, you'd expect this to be just another easily forgettable small Wisconsin bar. Wrong. This place is anything but. They've got a small dining area that's not the best for big groups but certainly big enough for the average family. Their bar is an average size "full bar" that's a great place to grab a couple beers with some friends. The food here is actually something to write home about and is what sets this place apart. I was surprised the first time I ate here. I expected the typical greasy bar type food served in a basket with wax paper on the bottom. However, their cooks do a great job preparing the food here and the simple but tasteful presentation of even a burger is nicely done and much appreciated. It's a welcome change to the usual boring hamburger. They use some nice ingredients here as well that are yet another welcome change, small touches that make this place stand out. If you're looking for an awesome appetizer you MUST get the monkey fries, they will not disappoint. Staff is friendly too.

I've been coming to Sieberts for a while now & we came in today for lunch. Just wanted to point out an outstanding bartender, Kayla. From being a bartender myself, I recognize good service when I see it. She was super nice & friendly and attentive. & of course the food is always outstanding. :)

Sieberts is another one of those small out of the way places that we'd never have found without Yelp. We were in the area and wanted to grab some lunch - who would have thought there is a place with 41 reviews and a 5 star average in tiny Salem, WI? First, this isn't a divey bar. It's been a hotel and restaurant since 1880 - they even have some of the old posters showing rates of $1/day for the "full European" plan. Now, it's a beautiful bar and grill with a tin ceiling, gorgeous woodwork and stained glass chandeliers. Someone's put a lot of time and thought into restoring the place (but there are still some video poker machines, never fear!). There's a full bar with a very respectable tap list. The food menu has a good selection of burgers, sandwiches and some good looking main dishes. I went with a burger and wasn't disappointed - it's a very large patty served on a quality ciabatta bun. My two tiny nitpicks would be that burger needed a bit more seasoning and I really wish they had dill pickle slices (they have sweet pickles if you like those). For $8 it was a lot of food and clearly good quality. The Mister went with a wrap and French Onion, described on the menu as the "best". Well, it certainly was a decent Wisco version = more cheese and bread than soup and not too salty. Service is casual and genuinely friendly. Many of the people stopping in were clearly regulars, so they have a loyal following. The interior is small (maybe seats 40?) so plan ahead of you're visiting on what could be a busy night. Great little find in Kenosha - thanks Yelp!

Stopped in as I drove through Salem. Thought I would try to find a spot that I could get a safe lunch on my way home. This place exceeded my expectations as a small town bar/ restaurant. This place has charm. It is a beautiful turn of the century building that once served as a stage stop and a brothel...hard to believe but it made it even more charming. I had the fried perch with potato pancakes which came with coleslaw, applesauce, sour cream and tartar sauce. The perch was sweet and fresh while the potato pancakes were hardy and just delicious. I had a Guinness to wash it down and it was poured right, the tap was clean and it tasted fresh as well. The price was on par and I would say a good value for the portions and great value for the quality of fish served. The service was a high point. The young lady who served me was friendly, energetic and attentive. I can see that everyone there liked her and everyone was very friendly. My experience was made even better by the charm of Julia. A beautiful young lady who I had the good fortune to sit next to. Julia gave me the background and history of the place and provided this old and weary soul with great company and conversation. For this alone I would come back ;-)

Seiberts Pub has a very nice small Chicago style pub appeal. One of the previous tenants; who was a designer, actually designed the place. I'm being completely honest here, if you ever get disappointing food, the chef's in the back either were on strike or sick, lol. The food is outstanding and nicely sized in portion. They do take pride in what's being served. The wait staff are outstanding and attentive. They have trivia during the beginning weekdays and have video poker, but other than that, their's no other entertainment nights. I wish they did though. The bartenders are extremely friendly and may converse with you if the night is slow. Try the Reuben, wings, fish on Friday's (first come first served as it gets crowded fast), Monkeyfries, burgers, and Rueben rolls. Enjoy!

Absolutely delicious Reuben, and the tuna steak sandwich was quite tasty too, although the wasabi sauce it's served with is a bit overpowering for my taste - I'd prefer a wasabi mayo so the flavor of the tuna steak has a chance to shine. The bartender who greeted and waited on us was SUPER friendly - loved the vibe she gave the place. We look forward to our next visit!

Sieberts has the best authentic (no pre-packed sandwich meat) Reuben in the entire county. No question about it. Their French Onion soup, appetizer selection and fish fry are outstanding. Nothing on the menu has ever disappointed. When relatives come to visit this is one of the few places I take them. There is also a great selection of beers and the service is always good.

My girlfriend and I went for ruebens we are both 27 years of age, when we were getting seated the stupid waitress grabbed a kids doodle board menu for her, don't get me wrong she is short but, does not look like a child! Once she noticed her mistake she said sorry but was still a stuck up b*tch! The ruebens are amazing too bad the service isnt

Our group has been seeking the best fish fry for months- so much so that we have begun to expect congealed pseudo- cod with wilted potatoes and old style served by overworked and tired servers as the norm. This fish fry ranked 10 across the board - food, beer selection, service,ambience... Everything. Fish was tasty with the breAdy being soggy or impenetrable. The Tasty potato pancakes were served with sour cream and apple sauce. The bread served beforehand is a gateway drug to heroin. Highly recommend.

We just got home from a late lunch/early dinner at Sieberts. I don't even want to risk forgetting to review. Let's sum this up for those that don't want details: My belly is very happy. Everything was delicious/amazing and reasonably priced. I'm very reluctant to 5 star rate but this place deserved it! Now for details: We started off with the French Onion Soup. Perfectly seasoned with the right amount of salt (sometimes this soup elsewhere can be too salty or taste like an onion took a quick bath and jumped out-this was perfect, savory and delicious). Then we had their.....Rueben Egg Rolls. No kidding. It's a real thing. I am NOT a Rueben fan...but this was so amazing....that I just may try their Rueben sandwich next time...these are large egg rolls stuffed full with tender corned beef, saurkraut, and swiss cheese. It's served with a side of 1000 island dressing. I had to limit myself since I was also getting a sandwich. I could have just had these for a meal. wow My main meal was the BBQ Pulled Pork sandwich. This wasn't the best I've had but it was definitely good. I had the sweet potato fries that were the best I've had and cooked perfectly. Nice and crisp, not overdone, seasoned well and not greasy. My husband had the penne pasta with chicken. He really liked it. He did have to add salt (but he;s a salt addict) but it had a nice rich flavor. Very very good. Lastly-the service. Our waitress's name was Eileen and she said that she's been waitressing for 20 years. I believe it! The pace of the meal was perfect. We never were with empty glasses and she checked on us the perfect amount. Not constantly popping in to where it was distracting....but we were very well taken care of and she had great recommendations. All in all- we felt very welcomed, had a delicious, well priced meal in a comfortable atmosphere. We will...without a doubt...be back...very soon!

Reuben was awesome, shepherds pie, and....monkey fries. But forget the rest. Bring 12 of your hungriest friends and try to finish the monkey fries. Mmmmmm.......

Just moved to the area and found my new go to place. We have been here twice, and both times were great, First time was a Saturday. They have a 2 for $22 special. One appetizer and two entrees for, you guessed it, $22. It was a lot of food. With several adult beverages, the bill was less than $40. Service was great. Second time was a Friday, Much busier, but we were able to snag a table. Once again, they hit it out of the park

Amazing fish fry, very generous portions and cooked almost perfectly. Completely blows Kief's Reef fish out of the water! Excellent service and our waitress was very friendly and helpful. Now for my gripe: As a group of 4 large men, we were slammed into a "Booth", which if you want to call it that, was barely large enough for 2 of us to enjoy a meal on. Tables are very small which is a shame because the food is great. The seating is uncomfortable at best, which in my opinion is the only downfall. Basically, if you don't mind feeling a little crowded, even when you are trying to enjoy your meal, it is a good stop. Bar was super crowded, hard to order even when you are at the front. Beer prices were O.K.. Honestly, this far up north i expected it to be cheaper.

Stopped on my way home from Wisconsin and the service was very friendly and prompt. I had the Reuben sandwich and it was one of the best I have had. Definitely worth a stop if you're int he neighborhood.

Went to Paddock Lake for the first time last weekend and we had a coupon for Siebert's. Glanced at Yelp quick before deciding to check it out and all the positive reviews here are well-warranted. We ordered a couple of beers ($3.50 special for Wisconsin Ambers on tap) and debated appetizers but decided to go right for entrees. It's a good thing we skipped the appetizers. I ordered the Reuben, which came highly recommended from Yelpers, and my friend ordered the Italian beef. Both were amazing but holy hell that Reuben was delicious. There was so much corned beef, sauerkraut, cheese and 1,000 Island dressing oozing out from it that I had to use a fork and knife. It was served on Texas Toast-style marble rye and I chose a side of chips, which were just as good as the sandwich -- thick cut and freshly made. I couldn't even finish the entire sandwich. Sandwiches were all in the neighborhood of $10 and under. With the coupon (buy one entree, get one half-off), the total came to just over $20 for two entrees and two beers before tip. Not bad at ALL, and I'd go back even without the coupon.

My wife and I enjoy coming here for the Friday Fish Fry. The perch is outstanding and something you can rarely find at fish frys around where I live in Illinois. The fish fry is also very popular and Fridays are really busy. We've also tried and liked the salmon, burgers, and beef brisket sandwich. The beer selection is decent but tends to be more mainstream domestic. I have also tried the clam chowder but it is more of a corn chowder with bacon; still tastes good and I get it every Friday but it is hard to taste clam.

This was my first time visiting Sieberts for food with a friend. We were able to sit outside on the small patio, and it was perfect outside. Our waitress was very attentive, and checked on us the perfect amount of times. I had the fried green beans as an app, and they were delicious, especially the sauces they give you on the side. For the main course my friend had the fish tacos, which she said were awesome. I had the reuben and it was so good and HUGE I had to take half of it home, and couldn't finish all of the french fries. I'd definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for something to eat in the area. The inside of the bar is a bit small, but in perfect weather, take some time and enjoy the deck!

The service and food here are fantastic. You must order the Monkey Fries - A pull apart delight made from fries mixed with a fantastic Cheddar cheese sauce, formed into a log, topped in more Cheddar cheese sauce and apple wood smoked bacon. My wife and son ordered the angus burger with grilled onions and an egg served on a cabata bun which they thought was delicious. I tried a bite of my wife's and I must agree. The fries are fresh cut.

Solid burger and the Rueben was very good. Monkey Fries are a great version of bacon cheese fries plus the sauce for them is awesome. All in all portions were large and this sort of pub food is great for the area. Friendly service and great comfortable atmosphere makes this place a winner.

Great place if you want a different kind of bar food. It's a bit small inside so you may have to wait for a table, but love the food!

We stopped in for a fish fry at 6pm and we were lucky enough to grab the last table. The place was completely packed including the bar. Friday also has a $2.50 Coors Light bottle special too. I had the fish fry. It was really good. It comes in 3, 4 or 5 pieces. I went with the 4 but should have went with the 3 because the pieces were pretty big. There is also a choice of potato and I went with the potato pancakes. They were good not the best I've ever had. My wife had the chicken caesar salad (dressing on the side) and it was really big. I had to finish it for her. Nothing like putting heathy into your body after coating it with deep fried grease. In fact, I could feel my body trying to reject the greens. The interior is not your typical Wisconsin beer sign and deer head place. A lot of thought went into the decor. It felt a little trendy inside. My booth had a high red velvet back...something you won't see often in a small bar in Wisconsin. The waitress was really friendly and took care of all of our requests. Our food also came out really fast. We were given our bread and as I was about to slice it our main course arrived. We will definately come back!!!

This is my favorite local place, with everything that I'm looking for in a restaurant. The place is adorable, with the look and feel of an old tavern, and the food and service are wonderful. We particularly enjoy the monkey fries and the Cobb Salad with Steak is perfect and burgers are perfect. We recently attended "Trivia" night on Tuesday, and had a blast.

If you are looking for a Ruben this is the place to go! They have the best Rubens ever, fresh corned beef not lunch meat style, corn beef and cabbage style piled on rye with all the goodies. This place would be amazing if they held thier other menu items to the homemade, and quality standard they do thier Ruben.

Reuben! Enough said. Fish fry is great and french onion soup and clam chowder are knockouts too. Great Bloody Marys as well.

Came here twice ... dinner on Saturday then late lunch on Sunday last weekend. Both times food was excellent! I ended up getting the Portabella sammich both times. I saw that they showed an ahi tuna sammich and ahi steak... was so psyched... until server said they didn't have the tuna anymore and were in the process of updating their menu! Boo! Mushroom was perfect both times and *quite* large, but perfectly cooked and seasoned. It comes with choice of cheese, but really is better without (can definitely taste rich flavor without the dairy). They have full menu, and was definitely surprised at the variety and quality - definitely not just average local pub offerings! They even have Moscato wine (which is my fave) which is probably not for the distinguished wine person, but it tastes like candy and I love it! (I'm not much of a drinker) The MUST-HAVE item is / are the Monkey Fries. You may need clearance from your physician to eat these due to their sheer caloric/ fat / cholesterol content, but I assure you that you will die happy with this specialty in your gut. Imagine a loaf of freshly cooked cheesebread... now change the bread to fries and triple any imagined cheese on top! In fact, the cheese should cover ... no SMOTHER this loaf of potato perfection - it should ooze over the sides! Now add a side of a remoulade-type dipping sauce and start pulling this baby apart, horny-monkey style, yo! Yum de-fook-ayyyy! Oops - did you order entrees? Yeah, you're prolly gonna need a few Doggie Boxes for those and also for part of the Fries! Do I recommend this place? Yes - go before the Health Department shuts them down for those Monkey Fries!

Truley amazing food. They take the traditional 'Bar Food' scheme and add a delicious twist. 3 things that you should order while here, the ruben, hog wings, and the monkey fries! My only complaint is that the bar area tends to be a bit cramped at times. Other then that, if you havent made your way out here, certainly give it a try!

I've been here quite a few times for "trivia Tuesdays" and it's been a blast, but no matter what day you're here the food is killer. The wild mushroom bruschetta is unbelievable! I split the ribeye sandwich and the portabella sandwich with a friend and both were AWESOME! I go out of my way to go here, and it's totally worth it.

Went with my family last week. Service was outstanding (waitress was attentive, but not pesty), and food terrific. I had a barbeque pork sandwich with sweet potato fries. It really was delicious. The restaurant isn't large, but holds a surprisingly large number of people. We will definitely return.

Wow! This place is cool. Recently redecorated by Chelle Design Group, this Pub is looking really sharp. Their martinis are fabulous...Great beer selection on tap, plasma tvs, great food, what more do you need? I definitely recommend trying their Monkey fries -- totally yummy!

If you have not stopped here in awhile please know it is a far cry from the "old" Sieberts. The "new" Sieberts is as trendy of an eatery as you will find for miles around. I heard the new owners are former interior designers which makes sense. The only thing (thank goodness) remaining from the old Sieberts is the landmark building. From what I have gathered it dates back to the 1800's and originally served as a hotel for workers harvesting ice from nearby Hooker Lake. The original layout remains and they have integrated some of the old signs into the decor. The food is certainly not cheap, but as the old saying go's, "you get what you pay for". They have a somewhat small, but diverse menu. During our last visit I had baked salmon while my wife enjoyed a burger. One thing they do which is rare for the area is spend time "presenting" the food on the plate. A few dishes have been presented as well as places I dined at in Chicago or Long Beach. Their beer selection is primarily micro brews which works given it is an upscale establishment, but they do offer a few domestics. Hopefully they will continue with their quest to be on the classy end for the area and not slide into being like everyone else.

  • Stephen N.

I'm rating Sieberts 5 star because it's best in town for a groovy place to grab lunch, a drink or two, and the best fish fry in the area! Keep it up Sieberts! Plus they try as hard as they can, given their "miller lite" clientel to stock some good micro brews, or as close as they can get to craft brews!
