Cool saloon decor. Friendly and helpful waitress. Chicken chipotle sandwich and haystack onion rings were outstanding. Companion's jalapeno burger was also excellent. Companion loved all the tvs. Probably understaffed, we waited a long time for our food. Friendly clientele. Some outdoor seating on patio. Inside, seating away from windows is very dark. We'll definitely be back when we are not in a hurry.

Our visit was on a Saturday night. There appeared to be one waitress and one bartender. The service was very slowwww. The waitress apologized twice and said it was extremely business. Don't they have any business on Saturday nights at 6:30? We had to ask to have our appetizer brought out before the meal. We got it about 2 minutes before our sandwiches arrived. My rib-eye steak sandwich was very thin, overcooked and barely warm. The french fries weren't much warmer. My husband had the chicken dinner special and his food was hot. I don't think the temperature in the building was over 60 degrees. Half of the diners kept their coat on while they ate.

We went here because we loved their wings at the rock the roost wing festival. We got here and it was average. For 4 rail vodka tonics and 2 order of wings, $45 was a little steep considering we could get the same near downtown milwaukee. On a side note, the chef did bring out a chicken wing with sauce he had been concocting with sirracca sauce and it was great!! You need to let this guy go crazy with the menu because I wanted to give my breaded hot wings back for his experimental chicken wing. FYI- I think breading on the wings r kinda gross.

One time visit, nothing really bad, so I would go back. Burger was good, had the portobella fries the waitress recommended, and they were as good as promised. French fries may have been cooked in oil that was too cold. Soggy outsides, firm insides. Excellent service! I would go back, just avoid the fries.

I'm not into chain restaurants. There isn't any personality in the restaurant, and definitely not in the food. My family and I stopped in at Madam Belle's for at 10:00 on Sunday morning. I had the hangover burger, a burger with an egg over easy on top, and seasoned hash browns. It was fantastic! The burger was big, and tasted like beef of all things, perfectly seasoned and made by hand. The egg added a richness, and with the American cheese, was the perfect compliment. Even the hash browns were well seasoned and perfectly cooked. Lastly, the coffee was fantastic. You can count restaurants on one had that have great coffee. I can't wait to get back there again!

I'm downgrading my earlier reviews because I've been here a number of times and there is definitely a theme: not enough people working to pull off basic service. And I'm frustrated now because I keep over tipping because I feel sorry for the staff. This is a bar and a restaurant. A basic would be: get me drinks and food. The more you sell me--the more you make. You can't make money if you don't take my order. I'm here this time on a Packers playoff game Sunday. "Free chili and pulled pork at halftime". Um, it's halftime and the chili just brought out is refrigerator cold. And there is no pulled pork. I ordered appetizers and turns out that there is only one deep fryer in operation. Are you freakin' kidding me? Chaz Hastings, you should be ashamed. I've heard you've had interest in expanding this place. Save your money (as you apparently have by not staffing what you already have). I'm highly disappointed and no longer interested in over tipping your staff because this place is too cheap to hire people.

"Meh" is being kind. I ended up here because the two friends I was meeting for dinner live in the area and claimed that Madam Belles had really good bar food. Well, maybe they did back when all of the good reviews were posted..... Anyway, the building used to be a saloon/brothel back in the "old timey" days so they've fully embraced the saloon theme. There was one guy who looked like an extra from the cast of Deadwood at the bar so that was certainly authentic. There also was a chick who I'm pretty sure was on meth too, so there's something for everyone. (Including the music choices which cycled between Kenny Chesney, Mötley Crüe and Nickleback) We were told that their old chef left and that the menu is different from the one posted online - the choices are "deep fried Sysco appetizers" and "build your own burgers". That's it, folks. My burger was "meh" - over salted and kind of greasy. We ordered a starter of homemade chips (good & crunchy) with cheese sauce. That "sauce" was actually the stuff they put on their Mac'n'Cheese and it was oily, lumpy and tasted like flour, not cheese. Gross. Service was pretty crap too - they were about half full but it took ages to get everything....drinks, refills, food, the check. Our server was sincerely nice but told us she hasn't worked here "in a while" so things like basic menu questions were a challenge. Let's be honest - there aren't a lot of choices in the area. I can see how Madam Belles would be a good place to stop for a few beers if you're out on a ride in the Holy Hill area, but I personally wouldn't return.

It used to be good, now it is well below average. Change isn't always good. A few years ago, this establishment offered a fairly diverse menu of upscale bar food, now it just has greasy burgers (or chicken) and some fairly plain appetizers. I could go on for a while about what the USED to be like - good food prepared and presented in a classy pub grub style - but that is not anything close to what you get now. While the service isn't stellar, I never have a problem just walking up to the bar to get a refill or place an order, so that isn't an issue for me. But the food. Below average quality burgers that were so greasy they soaked right the the bottom of a very average bun, and sides that were as unappetizing as the burger. If you're just looking to shoot the breeze and drink an little, probably not a bad place to stop, but if you're hungry, go anywhere else.
