Great little lunch cafe. I eat here quite often for lunch. I usually get the Mediterranean chicken pita. It is excellent. I've also has the French toast tuna melt that is very good. Good soup and good service. Reasonable prices for the quality of food.

My BF and I came here by accident when the nearby cafe was closed. It was pretty much fate that we walked by here and saw good reviews on Yelp, so we were like, why not? Good thing we did too cause I would love to come back here some day. I ordered the French Tuna Sandwich combo with a Pineapple Pecan Cole Slaw salad on the side. Yummmyy!! The French tuna sandwich had french toast bread and a good cheese-tuna salad ratio in between the two slices. Two of my favorite food put into one! yay! The Pineapple Pecan Cole Slaw was really interesting considering I've never had this before. I love cole slaw, but with the addition of Pineapple and Pecans it became something else! (In a GOOD way!) I loved the sweet and tangy pineapple that adds a brighter flavor to the cole slaw and the pecans which kinds of dims down the acidic cole slaw kick that you usually get when you bite into it. T'was delish! The bf ordered a Carnivore omelette which had a variety of meats in there (bacon, sausage, corned beef, etc) and he stated that the omelette was pretty typical and yummy. Prices were decent, nothing out of the ordinary for a cafe. Atmosphere was very chill and casual. The staff were friendly and always helpful when I asked questions. You get a number when you order at the cash register and they bring the food to you. We got lucky since the World Cup was on their two TVs that they had so me and my bf enjoyed watching the Argentina vs Belgium game while eating delicious food. Bonus for me: Argentina won! (: I would for sure come here again, and would like to try other things on the menu the next time I'm in Racine.

LOVED the food. A little pricey, but worth it. The atmosphere is adorable and incredible chic. HAVE to recommend the cuban pulled pork sandwich and the soups. The french toast tuna sandwich is also amazing.

I'd say the price is more $$ than $ but either way it was a really really good lunch. Everything we had: soup, salad, coffee and sandwich was all very good.

We go often for launch. Nice light menu which is creative and not boring. The value is good and service is great. We always seem to get in and out in just over 1/2 hour.

This is a good place to grab an omelet for breakfast or a sandwich for lunch. Especially tasty are the focaccia sandwiches. Certainly not the best place around, but decent food and quick service for a good price is alway welcome.

The most dedicated and hard working staff creating consistently tantalizing eats. French toast, unmatched. Omelet variations, unique and inviting. Fresh prepared soup du jour, bowl licking guaranteed. Visit, shoot the shit, and feast for your allocated 15 min break. Low prices for scrumptious bites. Oh, and the chef is one impressive caterer.

Food 3 stars, ambience and service 5, hence 4 stars. I came in and got the breakfast sandwhich ofr $3.95. Returned and got the greek omelet with hashbrowns for $9.95 (?). The sandwhich was really oily, and when I was biting into it I would watch it drip out the other side. The omelet was really salty, probably from teh feta, but it was too much, I couldn't take more than a couple bites. Coffee is good, and the ambi4ence was eclectic funky. Good time. There is free wi-fi, but you have to go to the Johnson Bank Security table to get connected.

Such a warm and inviting place! It reminds me of a fun cafe I visited in New York. The food is delicious and reasonably priced for what they give you! I highly recommend it to anyone in Racine or passing through.

I don't know what the others are talking about regarding prices---the prices are very, very reasonable. The atmosphere is warm and cozy and the staff is friendly. And the food....oh, the food! Cuban pulled pork sandwich that was spicy and delightful. Stuffed french toast that dripped with yummy cherries. Chicken soup that made me want my slippers and a good book. And the fluffiest omlets I've seen. DELIGHTFUL! Racine is lucky to have this little gem in the Johnson Bank Building.

I love this little cafe! I've been to the Red Onion three times now and I've loved the food, coffee and service every time. They have great, fresh, and unique sandwiches (I haven't tried the soups or salads). The atmosphere is great too. Perfect for anything from a place to study to lunch with coworkers/friends. I know Racine is small so it's limited on food options, but I would still go to the Red Onion even if it were in the middle of Chicago.

I don't agree with all of the buzz but since Racine has a lack of good restaurants then the expectations are low. I've eaten here twice, once for breakfast (sandwich was nothing special) and once for lunch. It's a place to get a decent bite, but nothing I would go out of my way for.

Good and Quick. Stopped in for breakfast based on other yelp reviews during a recent trip to Racine. We were a little mystified that their "served all day!" quiche was not, in fact, ready to be served at 8 am, but I settle for the french toast. It was, hands down, the best french toast I've ever thrown a lip over. The place is light and airy. they're located in the ground floor of a large financial services building, and appear to get a lot of customers from that firm. Every TV in the place was tuned to Fox News.

in Racine for a quick beach getaway before school starts up again. This was the best breakfast we had all weekend. Huge tastey portions, my kids split a meal and we still had so much left over. Delicious tea.

Best place for casual breakfast in Racine. Order at the counter and they'll bring your freshly prepared delicious meal out to you. If it's nice eat outside!
