Italian Cuisine
The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.
Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.
If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.

I ate here yesterday and I have to say my experience there was far from desirable. My family and I were eating and talking and having a good time and all of a sudden we heard a woman yelling at the top of her lungs from inside the kitchen which was way on the other side of the restaurant from where we were sitting. We asked our server what was going on and he said it was just one of the managers yelling again; he said it like it was a very normal thing. My family and I will never be going back to this Olive Garden ever again. No one wants to go to a restaurant just to be disturbed by a crazy yelling woman.

I love having an olive garden in Racine. The menu had changed over the years we have been going. I've seen some of my past favorites go away but new items are delicious. The Kitchen knows what they are doing and the Service is friendly, fun and fast. They cater to your needs.

nice food but pricey

Today we had the best service! Our servers name was Melissa, she was nice, funny, and kept up with the table. The poor girl was working our table alone and a section all the way across the entire place. I'm not too sure why they didn't have the other waitress that was taking care of our section take care of us, but I'm happy they didn't! This girl is fantastic. We spoke with her manager and he said she's even newer there. Who knew?! She was amazing and we'll come back just because of her!

Anytime I go to an Olive Garden, I always order the Grilled Chicken Flat Bread. I know it is an appetizer, but I always order it as an entree. It fills me up. They never disappoint me. I have been to this Olive Garden, twice. The never ending bread sticks are amazing. The waitress I had was really nice and seemed very outgoing. She would explain her answers to my group, whenever we have had any questions. I really like this Olive Garden. The food was just amazing as always. I have tried other entrees on my husband's plate and it had flavor.

Much like any other Olive Garden that I have been to in all of my life, this one isn't very good. There are no prices on the gluten free menu. Yes, there is a small gluten free menu at Olive Garden. Service was pretty good. When they send chefs to Italy to get food knowledge, I sure wish they would implement some of that knowledge at their restaurants.

Had lunch here today with my mother and daughter and had Ben as our server. What a wonderful host. If your are able and he is working, definately ask for his section. He is very professional, kind and friendly. Made our experience to the Olive Garden well worth the trip. Thank you Ben.

Great good and service. We sat at the bar and Jonathan took good care of us. I had the venetian apricot chicken it came with vegtables. He had the chicken Alfredo. Love the salad and bread sticks

I visited this restaurant because I shopped at the Regency Mall. The customer service was great, but the food was not the best. I have had better food at other Olive Garden restaurants. The bread was hard as if it had been laying out a while maybe because we dined late it was last bread of the night. The Fettuccine Alfredo was marginal.

Thank you, Olive Garden, for being a national restaurant chain that offers a gluten-free menu. Although it is short & sweet, it's very much appreciated. olivegarden.com/Menu/Glu… Last night, I felt like I was in an OG TV ad, which is hilarious because they're so cheesy (pun not intended)...I'm sure the Tuscan wine, my goofy family, & lack of sleep helped. Our server, Danielle (spell?), was polite & genuine. My husband & I both had the Penne Rigate Pomodoro: "Roma tomatoes, garlic, fresh basil, extra-virgin olive oil and marinara sauce tossed with gluten free penne pasta." He added grilled chicken & I had shrimp; both protein portions were skimpy. However, the pasta & sauce was great & had a slight kick to it. I was happy we were able to eat their Garden Fresh Salad, minus croutons, with their tangy dressing. Good times, gluten-free noodles & salad!

Three stars is being generous. Wife got a calzone, she said it compared to a hot pocket. I got the smoked mozzarella chicken, it was merely OK. Even the bread sticks weren't great. Service was very good, though. Had a gift certificate, won't go back unless I get another.

I was looking at the older reviews for this Olive Garden and thought I better post something more recent. I've been going to this location for years and have always had good service and food. There are 3 Olive Garden Restaurants in the vicinity and we choose to go to this one, even if it is out of our way. The location is very busy so depending on the time of day you may wait a bit although since the Kenosha Olive Garden was opened last year that has relieved the volume a bit. And folks - this is Olive Garden --- you are not going to have a unique or extraordinary experience so make sure your expectations are adjusted accordingly. I do have to say out of all the Olive Garden's I have visited throughout the Midwest (alot) this is one of the better ones.

We have visited many Olive Gardens because we love their soup and salad. It's a filling meal without being too much food. The restaurant on Durand in Racine is outstanding. The staff is so friendly, the restaurant has many small rooms, so you are seated in an area where the noise level is not too obtrusive. Our pasta fagioli soup was the best we have tasted. It was so fresh and flavorful. Our server, Jessica, made us feel like we had private staff. She was at our table in a flash checking to see what we needed and bringing it. She was also so very pleasant. We will return to this location when we are in the area.

Last time I was here my husband and I both got soup that was COLD!!!! Not even warm!!! THIS IS NOT OK! its a risk to public safety... apparently the kitchen manager doesn't temp his steam table?!? The store manager actually gave me a gift card to come back but I didn't trust there kitchen so I used it at another olive garden (in Chicago) and had a very pleasant experience. If it wasn't for the fact that I've been going to Olive Gardens for years I probably would have just tossed the gift certificate. But apparently this is the only bad location. BTW the new location in Kenosha Is GREAT!!! Food is hot and salad is cold:)

Good food, good service, but our experience with the hostess desk staff was less than thrilling. We were the only customers standing in front of 3 of them, and we waited a couple of minutes before being recognized. They had to finish their extended conversation about who's dating who first. When I indicated we had 10 people, I got a roll of the eyes and a snapped response as if we were an imposition on them. If it weren't our grandkids' favorite restaurant, I would have walked out. Needless to say, this one lost me as a future customer in spite of the menu. There are too many great family Italian restaurants around Racine and Kenosha to put up with this.

Overall its a pretty good place to go. I really like the Salad and breadsticks. I went with my family and had some mussels which were good. I ordered the the Herb grilled salmon with vegetables. it had a pretty good flavor to it... not to fishy, I just wonder why it was chilly in the restaurant maybe they need a new heating system. Our waiter was a nice attentive guy and remembered everyone's order. I don't usually get pasta since you get so much bread in the beginning. The place is always jam packed for I suppose lack or any other moderate priced good meals with a more fine dining atmosphere in Racine. And usually its consistent. No one in Racine or wisconsin overall seems to like food that is out there too much or has spices (aside from salt). So you can't really be adventurous in trying new things. I guess I'll have to move to a city where people actually enjoy using their palate someday.

This place hasn't changed much since it opened. It did get a much needed interior renovation though. Anyway, they are very consistent as a large chain restaurant - same food/atmosphere here that you'd get in Anytown USA. I wish the salad was made with something greener and more nutritious than iceburg lettuce. Lots of refined white flour carbs here, with pasta and breadsticks. Sometimes the clientele at this location is shady! On the other hand they have a dessert - called black tie mousse cheesecake or something like that - that is phenomenal. I'll probably be back here because Grandma G likes this place. For a better, more authentic italian restaurant in the area, try Dino's in Racine.

With so many mom and pop Italian restaurants in Racine & Kenosha why would anyone come to a chain? Only reason I can think of is that you work close to its location and need acceptable sustenance served quickly.
