A good place for live music and if your twenty two. The ledger attended was cool and the bar is much bigger and cleaner than it looked from the outside given its old appearance. The place has been a be for a long time and the remodeled second part of this bar is the newer and more roomy section and where they have music com time to time. No big acts but not a ad bar nonetheless.

This place is no longer the George's as described. It's a bar with 3 selections of bar food - chili, pizza, or French dip sandwich. Sorry can't say if any are good because we didn't stay. We were looking for something exciting and this was not it.

I would never believe that some of the very best Persian food in the Midwest is in a small tavern in Racine WI - but it is. I live in Chicago with 5 or more great places - but this one has them all beat, it is more than kabobs, it is carefully prepared (truly homemade tasting) foods, superb service and definably the best value for food i found in the Kenosha Racine area. The lamb shank is my favourite meal here, but I like everything I have ordered so far - highly recommended!!

Some of the best food I have ever had! Everything I have eaten at George's from the salad to the lamb shank just tastes so fresh and flavorful! I love the cozy atmosphere and the feeling of family you get being in this restaurant!

Georges is a gem in an unexpected place. I learned to appreciate Persian food from a friend about 15 years ago and have sought it out wherever I travel. What a surprise it was for me to see on their Marquis their advertising that they have Persian food! On a day that I had free I took the opportunity in the late afternoon to stop to try their fare. I met the owners, David Popoff and his wife Soosan Fahim-Popoff, who is the chef. Both were very personable and engaging people who enjoy their establishment and their customers. During that visit I had a dish that I have very much come to enjoy, kebab koobideh. It was artfully prepared; a traditional recipe of ground beef and lamb mixed, seasoned and grilled on a metal skewer. It was moist, tender and delicious. Served with onion, steamed tomatoes, and saffron rice, it was a perfect and hearty meal. I have also eaten there when they have set up a Persian buffet. I enjoyed the selections such as ghormeh sabzi (kind of a stew) and Persian salads however the kabob koobideh was the best part. I find the Persian flavor palette to be unique among Middle-Eastern/Mediterranean cuisines. Perhaps it is the sumac that they use - a rare and largely unknown spice in the West. Or perhaps it us the very dear saffron which is used in various dishes. In any case, do yourself a favor and expand your gustatory horizons: go to George's and enjoy the Persian food.

I absolutely love the owners they make you feel like you are part of the family eating in their home. Every appetizer and dish I have eaten has been fabulous. It is authentic Persian food made with love of the chef. They also have buffet dinner once a month with 2 seatings and at the late seating they have a belly dancer after. Its a wonderful time had by all. Its a great way to sample all the different dishes that they have to offer. Try the meatballs, and the mushroom chicken (only avail for the buffet), Actually any of the appetizers are delicious. And please have a cup of persian tea. :)

Best place in Racine! Not sure what John F. below is talking about. Seems like a very difficult guy to please. My gosh. Anyways, I dined here by word of mouth since I was here for a week on company business. I absolutely loved the food. Soooo tasty. Very warm and friendly atmosphere. Prices are completely reasonable. I'll definitely be recommending this place to my fellow co-workers.

George's has THE best Persian food I have ever tasted! The portions are generous, the service fast and friendly. Owners David and Susan will make you feel like you're with family. Private parking lot for customers.

We were at George's tonight with 8 of us. Food was great. All reviews who loved the food were correct. Unfortunately for us, the service was worse than bad. There was only 3 tables of people in the restaurant and we were there 2 1/2 hours trying to get food. We were all there with our kids for an adult night. Hard to go back as a family if we have that much of a difficult time with service.

I did not like the buffet style dining on a recent Saturday night. I have enjoyed Persian food many times and unfortunately, did not enjoy it this time. The wine list was a joke and the food was... uneventful. I understand this is Racine (cheap food and lots of it) and the VFW hall look some might find charming, but not for me. The belly dancing was the only thing that saved this visit from being a total waste of our Saturday night.
