Italian Cuisine
The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.
Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.
If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.

This was the house Dunn Brothers built. I love the interior and I'm glad they didn't change it. Came in just for coffee, but I will try the gelato next time I'm in the area. They import the gelato from a nearby town but will start to make it onsite in the summer months. Comfortable interior with local art.

This is a small but well loved cafe in downtown Racine. It's decor tries for a hip, European look that has charm, if not true authenticity. Its clientele has a wide age range and, depending on the day, it's as much a haven for teenagers and twenty-something's as it is families or retired friends and couples out for a walk downtown. The upstairs level is perfect for reading or work--they have outlets on the wall available and you can access the wifi if you ask at the register. It's a relaxing hub of life to be on the weekends in the afternoon and I'll go there for hours on a laptop. I've enjoyed all of my orders, they make wonderful lattes and apple ciders. Plenty of tea options too, with a variety of pastries on display and a small shelf of flavored popcorns I haven't tried. I love their gelato, my favorite flavor is chai. The staff is small but always personable and accommodating, and I've never had a complaint about the service. I'd happily recommend this place.

This may be a good place for an ice-cream date, but NOT a coffee date. Too bad we tried it for the latter. THE SERVICE: What we ordered: - medium non-fat coconut latte, - medium non-fat toffee nut latte, - large non-fat macchiato, - large whole milk macchiato. ...We paid for the said order. What we got: - medium non-fat coconut latte (YAY!) - medium coffee (Nooope), - medium coffee (Nooope), - medium whole milk macchiato (Nooope). So we tried again: - medium non-fat toffee nut latte (YAY!) - large non-fat macchiato (YAY!) - large non-fat macchiato (Nooope). To boost, we were the only people ordering at the time, so it's not like the barista was juggling several orders, just us. THE DRINKS: ...were mediocre. Not a good bean, nor a fresh roast. THE ATMOSPHERE: Nice. A big place, which brings the noise level down a bit, making it a good place to sit down and chat.

I'm sure their food and coffee is all pretty good, from what I've had in the past. But the service was HORRIBLE! I ordered a cappuccino and waited about 15 minutes for it, then I got it and it was barely full...about 80% foam. I complained and the guy just said rudely "that's how we do it here"! So not cool.

A quintessential coffee house and ice cream place in Downtown Racine. There are many great flavors of gelato and a awesome environment and hangout for coffee and reading. The place is beautiful and love the upstairs section with a great view of happenings below.

ORDERD: small black Columbian coffee, slice apple pie TASTED: I could tell the coffee equipment is shared with flavored beans (blech) as my cup tasted of vanilla and kitten farts. It was also really bitter. The apple pie was amazing though! Like worth driving to Racine for just pie kind of good. WHY: I was in Racine and needed a coffee fix, Yelp lead me here. I read they use Cafe De Art Roastery from Waukesha for the beans. The service was awkward with one young man fumbling through my order as two teenage female employees just stood around and watched. The space is beautiful.

We stopped in this place while exploring and staying in downtown Racine. The gelato was absolutely delicious. We stayed in downtown Racine for three days and visited this place three times just for the gelato. I love the interior as well it's very unique. The prices for the gelato seem high first for the size of cups. But they are overly generous with filling the cups and piling on the scoops. Well worth the price for the quality and taste of the product!! Will definitely be back if we are in Racine again!

I gave this place 2 stars because after having been sick from a vanilla latte there twice I can't recommend it any higher despite the fact that it is the cutest place to go on main st. I really like the overall ambiance and the beverage menu choices. After the first time I got sick I thought it maybe some soy milk got into my latte somehow because I am allergic. I spoke with a barista before I ordered my next latte weeks later and he assured me no soy milk for miles near my latte. I got sick again. I noticed that there was only one steamer cup and that it was not even emptied between orders, nor did it seem to get much of a washing because it was mid afternoon on a busy weekend and the rim of the cup and the steamer spout were crusted with remnants of milk from previous orders. So, I have to reluctantly agree with the other reviews, simply have gelato and stay away from the coffee. It's too bad because good coffee is not that hard to serve and downtown Racine could really use the attraction of an upscale coffee shop. I regret being in a position to give this cafe a poor review.

Stopped here during a bike ride though downtown Racine. I'm a huge fan of Italian gelato and I wasn't disappointed. It was somewhat pricey for a medium sized gelato (~$3.80). Very nice inside the cafe, clean and good atmosphere. I'll visit again. Nice ill' gem in downtown Racine.

My wife and I stopped in here today after having lunch elsewhere in downtown Racine. We used to frequent this facility under the previous owners when it was Dunn Brothers and we missed having a nice quiet place to sip coffee and read. While the facility is largely the same some of the changes that the new owner has made have diminished the sense of accessibility of the place. First of all, let's make it clear that this is NOT the old coffee shop. The priority of the old place was coffee and they made quite a production of it. This owner's focus is on gelato. I personally found it to be pleasant enough, but seemingly indulgent and a trifle expensive for Racine tastes, perhaps. Don't get me wrong - the pumpkin gelato was really wonderful, but over three dollars for a small cup did feel pricey. And the coffee ($1.80 for a medium) was good, if average. Also understand that the previous owners went broke offering lots of space for clients to spread out in, free internet access, free internet terminals, live music and a book exchange. The new owners are looking for a higher end clientele, it seems, with the available space reduced by 2/3, a smaller menu and higher prices. They have three other successful locations so perhaps the secret to success in this space is to change it up, attract the upscale, chase off the space-sucking riff-raff and offer a more select menu which includes beer and wine. I hope this is a winning combination as Main Street can use a relaxing and sophisticated place to retreat.

Great historic building and neat atmosphere. Let it be known, that this is not a coffee shop like the old Dunn Bros. that used to be here. Their specialty is Gelato, and special it is. That stuff is addicting! By no means am I saying there coffee is sub par, but one must know, that they are a homemade Gelato shop that happens to offers good coffee, gourmet popcorn, sandwiches, and even wine and beer. Perfect place to read a book, meet friends, and listen to live music. This is just what Downtown Racine needed.
