Later the company and the Applebee's concept changed hands with Abe Gustin and John Hamra who started the first Applebee's franchise restaurant in Kansas City.

My wife and always have a decent experience here, we've been blessed with good servers. The food selection is a little low on the + list so thats why the 4 star. Other than that its an ok spend on money.

Just a December - January long over do review. Host's name was Mikey and my server I forgot his name but he was hilarious. Had just finished shopping and all I wanted was a Kahlua that I first tried in Alabama Applebee's. I'm on this binge "try new things" challenge so I try the Quesadilla Burger. YUMtabulous. They were very timely and polite. Didn't rush me , and were hilarious. I'm planning on making another trip back. The only thing I noticed about this location is that they seem understaffed. Left a $10 tip to both the host and server because it was much appreciated. If I could at the time, I'd give more.

This restaurant used to be great. What happened? We were seated under a vent blowing cold air on us and even after we asked for them to turn up the heat, we were already chilled. The service was just okay, and certainly nothing to write home about. The good home-cooked style meals I remembered don't exist. Unfortunately, I've eaten at Applebee's numerous times over the years and the quality of food has consistently gone downhill. This time was no exception. Except for the mozzarella sticks, the entire meal was dismal. In fact, both my mother and I had stomachaches afterwards. Probably won't be back to this restaurant any time soon.

The food and service was just ok, not what we were hoping for. We are recommending to not order the pepper crusted sirloin. The burgers are still good.

My boyfriend & I visit this place usually once a week. The long islands are cheap & so good. I wouldnt recommend any entrees except for the Salmon, which always comes out in different sizes, sometimes too small. Appetizers are always good & so many things to choose from. The staff is usually very friendly, we LOVE Jen & most bartenders. The servers need some work, being a server myself, im always attentive to how they do things. Most are very young & dont pay much attention to empty drinks & dont really care about how your food is. Another reason why we try to always sit at the bar. One thing i can say is never go after 10-11, it gets very ghetto & not a very good crowd. Ive witnessed at least 2 fights & 1 table walk out on their $60 bill leaving the waitress to have to pay for it. The place is also clearly understaffed, sometimes we walk in their & see 15 open tables but yet there is a 20 minute wait.

My friend and I sat at the bar around 3 pm. The bartender had a horrible attitidue and we waited over 10 min to order drinks. We are in our mid twenties and she didn't even card us. We then asked for a food menu. For two people she gave us one. We ordered the bourbon chicken and shrimp and it tasted like salt and had no flavor. There was a couple next to us who ordered before us and our food came a good 10 mins before theirs. They asked for the manager and the manager never came. I order the perfect margarita and it came up and she didn't even pour the first glass. It tasted like orange juice and I sent it back. Please save your money and go anywhere else but here.

I headed over to Applebee's the other night for a drink with a friend. We sat at the bar and ordered our drinks. We each got one of the super cheap house margaritas. I also ordered a water, which the bar tender never got me, even though we were there a couple hours. After the margaritas, we got the wonton taco appetizer and a few more drinks. My friend ordered a long island, and for some reason he was brought a pomegranate long island. The bar tender was so oblivious! He was not busy, but he couldn't seem to get what we needed straight. Bottom line with this place is the food and drinks are mediocre and the service is pretty awful but there are good drink specials if you want a cheap night out.

When my parents suggested dinner out at Applebee's tonight, I wasn't thrilled. I mean...it's called Crapplebee's for a reason, no? I was surprised to see a good-sized menu with a lot of meals denoted "550 calories or less." The variety of the items offered was better than I had expected. The service, however, stunk. We overheard a waitress say that they [staff] were all a bit stircrazy due to the slow night. Great. But don't then tell us that you "didn't hear" the request for onion rings (it was clearly stated), forget the lemon for the water, send out someone else (who was training) to give us our food without telling her what it is she's delivering, incorrectly bring out a non-diet soda, don't take the empty plates and then only take half of them...and on and on. Also, the man sitting behind me was getting dripped on by a leak in the ceiling. We get it; this area got a shitton of rain recently. But if you know it's a problem with that wing of seats - as the manager claimed - then don't seat people there. And if they get wet, apologize. Comp their meals. Don't just talk to them for 10 minutes about how the water is still sitting, blah blah blah. And also, since there was a manager on duty? Make sure the staff isn't having more fun than the customers. I'd eat here again, based on the food - but I'd make sure to sit in a different section, far away from the drips. Waitress included.
