Pizza
Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country. While the base and the texture of Pizza remains same across the globe, it's the toppings that differs from country to country. In the United States, you will find the top pizzerias serving pizzas with the toppings of mainly beef, bacon, chicken, ham, and sausage for the non-vegetarians. Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.
Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Pizza is hot favorite among people of all ages in the United States. A large size pizza is enough to feed a family of 3 or 4 at large. Pizza is also the most preferred food whenever a group of friends is hanging out together. Pizza gained popularity in the United States after the American soldiers stationed in Italy returned from World War II.
Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations. Pizza gained popularity as the iconic dish in the United States in the second half of the 20th century. Whether you prefer thin or thick crust pizza, you can find a pizza of your preference at the best pizza restaurants in your city.

I'm a Platteville native andI always get my fave Steve's Special when I'm back in town. Little hint - always get the med or extra large because the crust is extra thin for more crunch and always ask for it well done. Do these two things and you can't go wrong!! Love ya John - you're still doin' it right!

When I am in town, there are several stops that I must make, Steve's is one of those musts! I picked up a pizza on Tuesday night and it was everything I remember, yum! Next time I am in town, you can bet I will swing by again.

Nice looking place but not so good service. The Gyro I had was cold in the middle and the fries were filled with cold yucky grease. Drinks were over priced compared to surrounding establishments but you have to pay for the looks somehow.

By far the BEST pizza in Platteville! Amazing food, great beer selection, outstanding atmosphere and friendly employees. What else could you ask for?! This rates as my favorite place to eat in Platteville. Wish they were open during lunch!

I am new to town and decided to try Steve's pizza. I tried a thin crust pepperoni pizza which cost me about 12.50. I was shocked when the pizza arrived. It was so small and bland looking. The pepperoni was cooked under the cheese and lacked flavor and texture. All the pepperoni did was make it hard to bite the pizza without pulling out the other half of the pepperoni. The crust was shameful. It was as dry as a desert. It reminded me of the jewish matzo crackers (in both texture and taste). I didn't get much flavor from the cheese or sauce. No joke, I get much better 6$ frozen pizzas from walmart. 12.50 is way too much for this quality of pizza. My lady server did a good job and the overall cleanliness of the restaurant was fine. The quality of the pizza from this pizza restaurant left so much to be desired that I will not be returning to try other food.

Decor: pub style Sercice: 5 stars Food: 3.5 stars I can't write this review without first commenting on the town itself. I was in town speaking at an event and relied on Yelp as always for food choices. Platteville is a neat little college town, and downtown itself is very clean, quiet, and just feels like a perfect little town in the heartland. The mixed reviews almost kept me from coming here but I took the risk because there were both good and bad reviews to balance things out. Glad I did. Service was super. The lady was genuinely friendly and fielded my menu questions with grace. Food came out in a reasonable time. No problems whatever. Very clean and well kept resturant. Huge high backed booths and granite tables. Perhaps some of the bad reviews were likened to people who unfortunately just got bad waiters. I went on a Friday night in the summer and it was very quiet. I'm guessing that during the fall and spring when college is going on that this place is hopping! Summer visit was quiet and relaxing for me. Pizza was good. No complaints there at all.

A Platteville favorite! When ever we travel back to visit family we either make a stop to eat or take a take-and-bake with us to go. On the weekends some nights there is live music and the bar is a great place to grab some drinks. The only thing I would change is the hours since the don't open until late on Saturday and Sunday we sometimes pass through and would stop, but they aren't open yet.

Great Pizza. A bit greasy, but that's what makes it so good.

I am a big fan of Steve's pizza. At least once a year we drive down from Madison to go eat there. I like the seating area near the pirate ship. We have always had good service. Their pitchers of Spotted Cow are great and come with a frosted glass. I like that their are some Greek dishes incorporated into the menu. Their pizza is delicious. I just have one question: Why do they use canned mushrooms? That is the one thing that disappoints. It doesn't take much to use real mushrooms. Other than that we really like Steve's and will be back!

The food is overpriced for the quality that it is given. The crust is not that great, and for being the go-to local pizza place, it really is not that great. Service is not that good. I've been there several times, and the last time I was there I had brought my parents. Service was so bad and slow that we watched other tables walk out or send food back several times. We didn't even leave a tip, which I hate doing, but I can assure you it was terrible service and deserved little to nothing. After waiting for a half hour to get our bill paid for we eventually just took the bill up to the counter so we could leave. If it counts for anything, I did feel bad...it was incredibly busy and the staff seemed incredibly unorganized. It might just be management, because I do have friends that work/worked there and a majority of them claim management isn't that great. Hope this helps. I would give it a "three strikes, you're out" chance, bit I won't be going back for a while. Delivery is free, though!

Over the past six months or so, the service has continued to decline. My "after work" group doesn't visit here as often anymore.

Decent Pizza and Drinks. Fairly expensive for what you get.

I came in and ordered spaghetti with beef sauce. I wasn't such a big fan of it; the spaghetti noodles looked like it has been sitting out for awhile and the spaghetti sauce was a little salty. I would not order this plate again. However, the waitresses were extremely friendly and bubbly. The decorations in the restaurant is super adorable and attractive. I would definitely still come back and try their pizza!

Great go-to restaurant for good pizza, cheese bread and sandwiches. A bit pricey but still worth it!

** Gluten-free pizza crust available! ** A bit pricy for pizza and beer. Non-smoking. "Katerina" pizza (with basil pesto as sauce) is outstanding! Greek salads are very good.

Evening in Platteville: this is where I go, and this is where I take friends who come to visit for a pizza and a Spotted Cow.

If you're from Platteville, this is a weekend staple. I love the BLT pizza! Their thin crust is just okay, but I'm in the minority on that one. I will caution you against this though -- if you take a large group there, you will probably have to send someone from your party to fetch more drinks. We recently took a group of 17. That was way too big for a Friday night. We were sent upstairs where the waitress could only come back twice. Groups under 8 work better for the staff.

Steve's Pizza is essentially one of a very small number of reasonable places to hang out in Platteville at night, in that they offer food as well as drinks. The pizza here is okay, nothing special but generally tasty and you get plenty. Appetizers are pretty good--I am in particular a fan of the garlic bread. Drinks, also, have been pretty great for me. I like to sample a lot of different cocktails, and they have some pretty creative ones that are worth trying. The Klondike Bar martini, for example, tastes just like a Klondike bar. My friends are more beer drinkers, and they are typically happy with the offerings. The restaurant itself has a laidback atmosphere, and sometimes there is live music (typically singer-songwriter guitar types) which can be overpowering if you'd rather have nice conversation. This is the problem: the service is incredibly bad, on average. I can't say I've ever had GREAT service at Steve's--I've had acceptable or okay service, but not great. But I have definitely had godawful, horrible service. The worst service I've ever had, anywhere! For example, the last time my group of friends (five of us total) hung out at Steve's, we popped in on a pretty slow Friday night around eight (this was over Thanksgiving weekend) and were seated at a booth in the front, where the bar is (so far so good). Our waiter took our initial drink order pretty promptly, but then the waiting started. We all got our drinks after about fifteen minutes, and a few of us ordered appetizers. One of my friends asked to have a glass of water along with her beer. Twenty minutes later, we got our appetizers, but still no water. I ordered another martini, everyone else got another round of beers, my friend repeated her request for water. Half an hour later, I finally got my second martini, and he still forgot her water! We ordered chicken wings and asked for water again. The water finally came, but over an hour passed and no chicken wings, no check-up (I would have ordered another drink, as would most of my friends), nothing. This guy could have made so much money off us, a group of 20-somethings catching up on a holiday weekend having drinks and ordering food, yet he left us alone for ages, hanging out at the bar on his phone, texting. At the end of the night, we had to go request our check from the bartender as our waiter had vacated the premises. The only saving grace was we weren't charged for the chicken wings which never came. The thing about Steve's is it's really our only option when we're all in town and able to get together, and in this way it holds us hostage. We would definitely go elsewhere after the abysmally bad service we've had on more than one occasion, but there is nowhere else to go. It's too bad, because it could be such a great experience--a gem in Platteville's pool of terrible dining choices--but the service is frequently mindblowingly awful.

This place has been making great pizza's since I was a little kid and they are just as good now as they where then. It is a must go for your pizza needs

I am passing through for business and stopped by for dinner. BBQ chicken pizza was delicious and great iced tea also. Calzones seemed to look good too. Service was not the most well tending, but the food made up for it. Buttery light crust, gooey cheese, perfectly cooked. Wish we had one in St. Louis, MO!

This is too bad. The new and bigger location is nice, and the dining-in experience may have merit, but the pizza and appetizer we picked up on our way through town was abysmal. The deep fried appetizers were over-manufactured and didn't make the trip well from the freezer through the fryer. The pizza crust was a bland, unappealing, white dough, not just uncrisp but undercooked. The sauce was not bad, but it was too flavorless like a grocery store jar version. Some people like tons and tons of cheese, and I respect that, but mouthfuls of chewy cheese with a little bit of sauce and chewy white dough does not make a good pizza. Yes, we had a couple of other toppings in there, but they were scant. This was little better than cheap frozen options from the grocery store. If you like that, go for it, but I'll recommend something else.
