We at last minute made reservations for Easter they said they had a Easter Brunch. They made an effort to call me back when an earlier reservation canceled. This restaurant is styled like a 1940's Bar and upscale eatery. It is evident they push the drinks as the primary money earner based on the waiter highlighting the drink specials. Easter Brunch menu was a bit odd I had thought a brunch was more like a buffet instead on a menu of a dozen differ choices like prime rib to a Salmon tossed dinner salad. I ordered the Shrimp Linguine $15 and mother ordered the Prime Rib $17 well done. Food is cooked to order and our wait was about 40 mins with only half the establishment attending. There was no salad or breads just the entree. And I had ordered a Iced tea and received no refill until entree came to the table. Prime Rib was served a top a bed of garlic mashed potatoes and green beans. With a small dipping jar of Au jour and horseradish sauce. The Shrimp Linguine was a toss of roasted tomatoes artichoke hearts and olives and 5 juicy plump shrimp. The dish was very flavorful but I think the portion was rather small compared to more commercial Italian restaurants. I was still hungry so I had ordered the Apple crisp which took another 30 minutes for dessert. I would say this portion size was about 3/4 cup. The waiter asked how it was all I could say was "interesting" he seemed to be taken offence. It was served in a tiny oval flan dish the had a nut topping with rasins a little star poof of whip cream and a couple toasted caramelized walnuts. My idea of apple crisp is hearty chunks of apple with a thick crumble and French vanilla ice cream. Nice flavors and nice decor. Wait time and portion size to price is why the 3 stars.

The best and most original place to dine in Platteville. The owner is fantastic and always around to greet guests. Great drinks and an original menu. The corn flake crusted walleye is fantastic

I thought this place was fantastic! The food was delicious and the service was awesome! 1. They had a slight mistake on our bill and the fixed it right away AND brought us out complimentary dessert. 2. The serving sizes were a little small -- that's my ownly complaint. 3. The mashed potatoes are to die for!! If you get the chance, try them! Yum yum! 4. Service was great. We were checked on multiple times by management to make sure our needs were met. 5. The space itself is beautiful and classy w/ folded napkins. The bathrooms were very pretty! Check those out too! 6. Overall a great experience! We will be back. Yum!

This was one of the worst restaurant experiences I've had in a long time. We visited this restaurant for Sunday brunch. We had reservations for 10am and were promptly seated. It took over 15 minutes for anyone to come by and ask if we desired water. When asked if we may have a menu for review, our waiter stated that he only had one menu to offer our table (what?)....about another 10 minutes later we finally had more menus. The brunch menu has very few options, and they were out of certain dishes (which our waiter didn't inform us of until we tried to order it.) It took over an hour to receive our food, though the restaurant was nearly empty. After waiting 45 minutes, they told us that our food was being plated. You can see into the kitchen and it wasn't plated until nearly 20 minutes after. If only I could say that it was worth the wait. The prices were high for the VERY small portions that were offered. The hollondaise sauce had so much lemon, it was hard to consume. Only several of the eggs were properly cooked, the sausages were like chewing on a piece of old leather, and I do not know how it is possible but even the toast was terribly dry (and we had to ask for butter). The weather was chilly and a door was wide open about ten feet from our table. When we asked the waiter if he could shut it (we were all shivering), he closed it half way and the owner laughs to us, "haha, worth a try". We had to ask the waiter to refill our waters every time. When bringing our concerns to the attention of what I imagine to be the unattentive owner, we were told that they were behind due to the graduation that occurred the day prior. How is that the customers problem? What that really says is "we are unprepared and unapologetic." When receiving our checks (which of course was promptly brought to our table as now there were people waiting to be seated), nothing was compensated .... but that was not a surprise. The only pros about this place was that the bathrooms were clean, the water was cold, and the coffee, though it was full of grinds, was decent. We will never return to this restaurant and will most definitely bring our business to The Country Kitchen next time.

Surf and turf blew me away. I do not even know where to start. Top shelf drinks, service and food. Other local restaurants in platteville should be scared for how great the food and service is. You can really tell the owner cares about your experience. Yag does not f**k around.

We had an amazing dinner here on Saturday night! The prime rib was one of the best I have had and the French Onion Soup was worth the trip here on its own. Do not forget dessert as the Creme Brûlée was the highlight for me. We will be back again!

Highly recommended! I ordered the Oso Buco and it melted in my mouth! My husband said his prime rib was the best he's had in a long time! Appetizers were a little small but, with the salad, bread and entrée it filled me up with lots of leftovers. If the appetizers were larger I couldn't imagine having room for our entrée. They were really delicious only making me want for more.

Had a great dinner. The crab cakes appetizer were delicious. The curried carrot soup is to die for.
