I was visiting my in laws over Christmas and they took my wife and here. Even for a restaurant named after the architect that designed the Park Plaza, the aesthetic ambiance both inside the restaurant and outside (it overlooks the Fox River) is fantastic. Two of our group had steak entrees and two of us had the panko crusted salmon. All were well executed. The salmon was served over a bed of nore (a type of Japanes seaweed), a particularly creative and tasty combination. Both my wife and I have waited tables and were impressed with the service. It was efficient and friendly without being overbearing or pretentious. Overall, we all had very enjoyable meals. I would highly recommend Becket's.

There's 2 different Beckets, both at the same location. The bar and cocktail scene is excellent. Great setting, nice views of our great Fox River. Cocktails are good (albeit, sometimes slow) and the decor inside is very contemporary and cool, especially for Oshkosh. And we need it. So it's very refreshing from that perspective. The food, on the other hand is very ... blah. I've eaten here 3 times. Each time with the hopes that the food will rise to the setting. Unfortunately, it hasn't. I have the feeling that the chef and the staff aspire for more, but they just don't know how to get there. The menu looks good, but when delivered, the food tends to be a watered down version of what could be. The steaks are medium grade, with an odd consistency and somewhat off flavor. I have had the fish as well, specifically a pecan-crusted walleye and it was downright scary. The texture was very dry and the flavor was almost cardboard-like. My wife and I also have tried the appetizers, those fare a little better, but overall the same experience has awaited us. I have to say the dining room wait staff is great. When I simply suggested that the fish wasn't that good, our waitress immediately removed it and didn't charge me for it. I am sure that may have come out of her wages for the night, so that was very gracious. Hopefully we made it up in her tip!

Its too bad, Becket's is exactly what Oshkosh needs, A very nice space, on the river that has a very nice bar and great staff, The restaurant is nicely put together and the staff is always friendly and knowledgeable. As for the food? it is just not that good. I have been there about 5 times and the food is always just so so, last night a friend and I decided to head to Becket's for dinner, I ordered the Beer Battered Cod, Being from Wisconsin (fish fry) you would think it would be good, wrong. when the plate was delivered the presentation was very nice, a huge piece of beer battered cod, so it appeared, unfortunately that was pretty much it, beer batter, the batter itself was not thoroughly cooked so was crisp on the outside and mushy on the inside, so deciding to just remove the beer batter and have the cod I find after digging a very small piece of Cod buried in the batter, The cod was at least good, what little there was, A good 6x7x3" thick batter covering a 3x3x1/2 inch piece of cod, The fries were soggy. limp and tasteless. My friend had the Rack of Ribs and though he says they were "OK" they were burned, black. I will probably go back as I do like the bar and atmosphere, I just dont think we will be eating there again.

We had a gift certificate for Becket's and decided to try it last Friday. We were seated in a booth. First, if you look behind the booths, there are plants that haven't been watered. There is dirt and dust. Not to mention old food and butter packets. How does this place pass inspection? That should have given us a hint to what our dinner would like. My husband had the pecan crusted walleye. He said it tasted like pure sage and it was grey. His special potatoes tasted like they had been sitting in a refrigerator for days. I had the perch. It didn't even taste like perch, it was old and probably frozen. My daughter had a burger and fries. The fries were so soaked in oil we had to to use a paper towel to wring them out. If we would have had to pay for this meal, we would have complained. As it is, we are telling everyone to never go there and we will never be back.

I love this place. Very trendy looking. Awesome food. I do wish there menu would have more things on it. I also wish they would bring Sunday breakfast buffet back. Wonderful place. Has a Chicago feel to it. Love that they constantly have different things going on. A must go to for anyone in Oshkosh or near by. Staff is so friendly.

Beckets is a nice addition to downtown. The food is good and the atmosphere is great as long as you don't wind up in one of the glass rooms. The menu (the paper, not the food selection) needs an overhaul. This is the new place to be seen in Oshkosh.

I went for lunch with a small group of people on a sunny afternoon. The place is gorgeous. Modern art and design inside; gorgeous view outside. And the service is wonderful. I really want to love it, and I think it has great potential. But... the food... is not great. My salmon was too raw in the middle. I like salmon left slightly undercooked in the middle, but this was ridiculous. Another person's fish (mahi mahi), on the other hand, was overcooked. I tried one of their potato croquettes-- mashed potatoes deep fried. Sounds amazing right? It's a great idea, but the potatoes were too dense. They need some air in there. A lot of great ideas here, but not well executed. The desserts too-- the "key lime pie" tasted like instant pudding. And they used cool whip. C'mon, Becket's... don't use cool whip. This place looks so hip... and has a great-looking menu, and then they go and serve me cool whip on top of instant pudding. I agree with other reviewers that the food just doesn't match the outstanding decor and atmosphere. I really hope they fix this.

we had a gift certificate, so we decided to try it. decor was nice, but the resturant was filthy. which makes me wonder what the kitchen looks like. our server was nice and service was prompt, but the food was horrific. if we would have been paying for the dinner i would have complained. which is something i have never done at a resturant. Our first clue to it being a bad resturant should have been having 3 seated tables at 6 on a friday night., and we were one of them. then my 20 year class reunion was held there. i payed $50 for my wife and i to have dinner there. no drinks were included in the price. it was italian.... the noodles were mush, the chicken was dry and bland, and the cheese tortellini was gross. the only upside was the garlic bread and the marinara. overall i was dissapointed again. and as luck would have it, my wife got another $50 gift certificate last week. i will be trying to sell it for $10 to somone who needs dog food.

Beckets is new on the scene in Oshkosh, pleasantly located on the Fox River in the downtown area. The contemporary decor is pleasant but not matched in quality by the food and service. The grilled cheese with veggie sandwich fell apart and the veggies raw rather than grilled. The hamburger had an overly smoked taste and was served with a soggy topping of tomato chutney. The glassware appeared unwashed.

Awesome location to meet friends. great ambiance. Food was pretty tasty. Inside of the place is really cool and modern, and is much needed hip spot for the area. I really appreciate that the art on the wall is from local artists and you can buy the pieces. I really like when restaurants do that. The patio is also really nice. and the crowd seems to be a good mix of young professionals and hip middle aged people. The food was tasty and fresh and the prices were very very very good.. I guess the food used to be not so great but i heard they brought in a new chef and its improved. I'm probably sounding like a pitchman, lol, but I swear I'm not.

Never again. Waited almost an hour for our food and when it finally came out my entree was wrong and my husbands looked like a black hockey puck; supposed to be steak. We drove about a half hour to get there, such a huge huge disappointment. We ended up just walking out, which I never have done before. Never again.

3.49/5.0 This place is attractively decorated in a modern style (atypical from other Oshkosh places I've seen) that really goes over well with me. Our service was spotty and somewhat insincere but our server was receptive to requests (but really, why do I need to ask for more water?). With that said, everyone else working there was so nice. Our server just seemed confused and not well versed on the menu. They were out of the sangria and the signature martini tasted like a lemon ricola drop. If you like IPAs, don't waste your time here. They didn't even have one. Tacos: delicious and slightly spicy. The is a $2 taco Tuesday special that I would definitely come back for (even though I don't live here). Oysters: husband loved them! They came with horseradish which was a nice touch. Cheese curds: they are square (what?!), white cheddar nuggets. Totally delish, totally worth it. Mojo Skewers: the rice was so, so bland. You could tell they were cooked in too much water. The shrimp itself was okay but I would not recommend this beer. Scene: bathrooms had paper towels all over the floor and the hallway leading to the bathrooms was dirty with paper pieces and such. Really a turnoff for such a good looking restaurant.

We booked Becket's for a group of 10 for a work happy hour event. Our first impression when we arrived was, "this is Oshkosh"? The interior is modern with lots of local art hanging on the walls, big expensive use of the Fox River, large patio with covered tables, and a beautiful bar. The service was very polite and responsive. Upon arriving they had two servers ready for us, and brought out a mix of appetizers. The grilled shrimp skewers, cheeseboard, and artichoke dip. The food was decent, and somewhat creative. Not at all a "Applebee's style" appetizer selection. The tap beer selection was around 8 to 10 craft beers, with several other varieties available in bottles. Overall if you're looking for a good view in the summer to have a drink, this is the place

My girlfriend and I split a steak salad and a zucchini wrap. When I bit into my half of the wrap, I felt a hair string from my mouth from inside of the wrap. There was a hair raveled inside of it. We stopped a waitress and kindly explained the situation. They made us a new wrap ASAP, unfortunately I still couldn't bring myself to eat it, I picked at it. Being in the customer service industry myself, I would have taken the wrap off of the bill due to the incident, but we paid for it, it was still on the bill. Salad was mediocre at best, cold steak & average flavor. **Staff was very friendly, no complains with them, but the food was eh.. Needless to say, probably won't be coming back for food but definitely for drinks.****
(2)Justin W.
Got a burger wasn't that great. But I will say their Fish Tacos are really good! Atmosphere is great food is so so.
(3)Les V.
Maybe below average for people that have traveled. Interesting staff didn't really look at us in the eyes, odd. Bar manager should move on, so over customer service WTF.

New Year's Eve -- not really my favorite holiday, but the boyfriend and I came out with some friends for a 9pm dinner, intending to stick around and enjoy the music until midnight. While it seemed like the kitchen had thought about the fact that it was a holiday (special, limited "Celebration Menu"), front of house clearly hadn't. We arrived ten minutes prior to our reservation and were assured by the army of hosts (seriously at least 4 of them were milling around) that our table would be ready soon. We weren't seated until 9:20, and they first tried to seat us in the private dining room by the door, away from the live music, without any heads up or asking us if that was ok. A member of our party indicated that no, that was not ok, and we were offered a high top table in the bar area, which took far longer to clean and reset than seemed reasonable, especially given the number of people working. Even allowing for the holiday, service was not great, with several miscommunications and/or forgotten items. When our server asked us pretty pointedly if and when we might be ordering dessert, we asked if she had somewhere else to be (it's 11pm on NYE, obviously we're staying until midnight...), and were told that normally dinner service ended at 10pm, so the waitstaff was being told to close out their tables and leave, since the restaurant didn't want to pay them. It seemed kind of weird, given that it was NYE, but we duly ordered dessert and paid up. We later saw our server, having changed clothes, partying down in the bar area. Honestly, the whole thing just left a bad taste in my mouth. The food was fine, neither great nor terrible, and lacking salt, as seems typical around here. The boyfriend's medium rare lamb was actually pretty rare, but he didn't bother to send it back at that point. The website didn't indicate the special menu for NYE, so when we arrived, I was disappointed to discover that their cheese curd appetizer that I had been eagerly anticipating was not on the menu. I understand the reason for limiting the menu, but some advance notice would have been nice. Overall, it was ok. It seemed like they were treating NYE just like any other night, which clearly it isn't, and I would have preferred more information up front about how things would be (the menu, seatings, etc.). I definitely won't be back for NYE next year, but I probably will come back on a regular night.

Real hit or miss--sometimes it's good, sometimes it's ok (considering that the menu is at a higher price than most in Oshkosh). One of the nicest restaurants in Oshkosh, though, and I recommend sitting at the table surrounding the fireplace if you can. Recommended items: Burger, steak salad, cod, salmon. The potato croquette is a different side than offered at most restaurants, and I recommend. Sometimes the fries can be limp but other times they aren't. I think there is simply inconsistency in the kitchen.
(3)Kathy R.
Kate is best bar waitress ever! Pan fried walleye rocks...along with Sly Joe & his Smooth Operators!
(5)Rebecca K.
Ok food, a bit over priced. But a great location and a decent crowd. I'll be back but I won't be a regular.
(3)Sheryl M.
Great view, good architecture and bar and average food. But, if your visiting from out of town take my word.....it doesn't get much better in Oshkosh (unless you want a diner or a fish fry). They have some cool teak booths that seat 5 or so and have live music. The dining room overlooks the water and in the summer there is outdoor seating (Summer in Oshkosh happen for 8 weeks a year). Our blue point oysters were fresh but the shrimp cocktail lacked the crispness and snap of really fresh shrimp. The salmon salad had fresh greens and pear chutney, but the salmon was overcooked and a little boring. The cod sandwich (which was a value for $8) was served with 2 big pieces of the bland fish (I could only eat one) and a good portion of fries. Nothing was terrible, nothing made me have an orgasm in my mouth. However , with daily HH specials, a low key bar with TVs and some live jazz as an option I could be convinced to go back- partially bc I don't know where else I wouldngo.

We went for the Mother's Day Brunch recently and it was extremely disappointing. This is the first time I have had food with little to no flavor at all. The brunch buffet was kept with a bare minimal amount of food, the room where the buffet was set up was too small and it was difficult to maneuver around in. The food quality was unacceptable for the price, and all of it was very uninspiring or creative. I would swear most of the food was not even prepared on sight--i.e. it was likely prepared, frozen entrees and desserts. Not worth it at all.
(1)Ken E.
Horrible service, horrible food. Dirty dishes and food stained chairs. Arogant manager. Will never eat there again and neither should you.
(1)Nate R.
Had a great lunch this past summer at Becketts. Had a great rotating mix of tap beers which were a great mix of both local craft beers and import beers. The food was solid, high quality burger meat with good fries as well. Service was good as well. If you're looking for a quick place to grab a nice lunch, would recommend.
(5)Paul K.
I had the Halibut and my wife had the prime rib. Prime rib was tastes but medium to well done although ordered medium rare. Halibut was good but dry. We had crab cakes and seared ahi tuna. Both were good. Waitress was cheery but overall service was a bit slow. We sat on the deck overlooking the water which was nice but listening to the cars driving over the bridge was annoying. It's worth checking out, as we have had great meals from here.
(3)Peter V.
The owners are awesome. Great location on the river. They support local artists and the local music scene. The food is very good. The Walnut Burger is a solid vegetarian option, as well as the black bean wrap. Lots of Craft Beer Choices. For a side, order the potato croquette. This place is hip. Look for the iconic Smart Fortwo outside with the Becket's logo. My wife and I come here to meet friends at least once every time we're visiting Oshkosh.

For a place that's in an old abandoned mall that's now mostly office space they did an okay job. The place is trying to pull off clean and modern, but the little touches aren't there so it looks more like it's unfinished than clean. It's not very inviting and feels like it's trying to be expensive, but looks cheap. It doesn't help that it looks like they've done nothing to the place since it's opened. Our server was okay, the guy who sat us was kind of a douche (I think he was the owner), and our drinks were great because you can't screw up tap beers. That's about the only thing that's good about this place. Our food was underwhelming. My father got the braised pork shank. It wasn't cooked properly and the pineapple bbq sauce is either store bought or they mix bbq with pineapple juice. Guys, that's not real pineapple bbq sauce. My mother got the California chicken salad that she compared to Panera Bread. I got the Becket's Burger and it was okay at best. This place just does enough to get by and it's sad.
(1)Jeremy C.
one of the better places in oshkosh ive eaten. Solid burger and homemade fries are a great touch. I was jealous of my friend who got the potato croquette because it looked tasty.
(4)Isaac A.
I've only been here once for some appetizers and drinks. The calamari was pretty decent but the bartenders were very uninvolved with my group (4 of us). They weren't as attentive as they could be and were not really interacting with anyone at the bar.
(3)Brandon R.
One of the few places in Oshkosh that tries to come up with original and gourmet dishes. Their bar is pretty well stocked and has a live band playing many nights. The happy hour is not really worth it.
(4)Roxanne G.
The meal was great the view amazing. service not so good, chairs disgusting outside. need updates and cleaning. worn down. Went for a walk after on river walk, Ground Round had beautiful seating. management best take a look around.
(3)Corey M.
All I need to say is Mac and Cheese! The atmosphere is like nothing I've experienced. There is local art everywhere, a table with a fire place, and river walk area to go outside. While it isn't a cheap place the quality and amount of the food is worth it. The specials always change and are worth checking out. Also for a side, try the potato crocket. Words do not describe the awesomeness!
(4)Rodger S.
Huge fan of happy hour here. A few friends of mine work in the same building for different companies and is the perfect place to meet for a Friday happy hour. They have good drink specials, and 1/2 off appitizers!! What more could you ask for.
(4)Ryan A.
Great food & atmosphere. On the water with a great view. Would recommend to any out of town traveler.
(4)David N.
Very nice interior average quality food very pricey the chef is more about how he wants to cook it then the customer wants it prepared
(4)Tom H.
Stopped here on our way North for hunting and we were starving. That being said...usually just about anything tastes great when I am hungry but I thought the food here hit the spot. We arrived a little later and so the service seemed to be more personal and our food seemed to arrive faster that I would imagine. If I had to recommend anything here it would be a few of the seafood dishes. The seared ahi tuna appetizer was pretty good but the star of the show was the sturgeon on special. Great tasting slab of marine animal cooked to perfection. Live music was a little loud and obnoxious but even worse was the drunk loud lady. Other than that, great atmosphere and great location that makes it perfect for date night.
(4)Travis D.
This was a great experience for me! We went for a snack on a friend's birthday before the festivities got underway, and I just shared some appetizers with my boyfriend. Everything we had was delicious! Even cheese curds and crab cakes were perfect! We also got the shrimp, which had an amazing glaze for dipping and Oysters Rockefeller-which was amazing!! Our drinks were also great and we had fantastic service, I even got to meet the owner who charming and delightful and thanked us for stopping in. All in all, I would recommend this place to anyone and I would definitely stop again!
(5)Jessica T.
Hmmm I love Beckets for the social scene, bar and apps. Have had pretty boring food twice: my parents who are locals had a terrible experience. When my dad started in on his second bison filet it was bloody raw. When the waitress cleared and asked how it was he told her. Her reaction " oh s sorry about that.". Left and came back with the bill- no $ off the bill- nothing.
(2)Y. D.
this was the most disgusting meal i have had in a long time. first the ambiance: horrible. similar to one of the past reviewers noted, the seat cushions looked like small children had eaten there; second, there wer dead flies and bugs all over their large windows. for gosh sake, how hard is it to clean a window! next:; i ask for a glass of chenin blanc. the waitress looked at me with not a clue in her eyes. nevermind I"ll have a glass of merlot. i ordered the cheese plate, side salad, and crab cakes. the cheese plate came with large "chunks" of cheese, dried fruit, chips, and peanuts! who serves peanuts with cheese. the chips were, and smelled like they wer made in old fryer oil. two of the cheeses were great, thanks to the cheese makers, but the restaurant was not doing them any favors. last but not least was the crab cakes. there was no crab in the crab cakes! they were a mushy mess, served with a great lime aioli, but that didnt make up for the awful, tasteless, and crabless crab cakes. I left with out finishing anything but the side salad. Went to gardinas not to far from becketts and had a great glass of wine and lobster dip, made with Lobster, can u believe it! it was awesome! sorry i didn't go there for dinnet!
(1)Zora S.
I want to like Becket's. I really do. They do a lot to support their community, it's a great space, and the drinks are good. But... the food is just bad. I've been here more times than I can count, and one of the last times I decided to order a steak, because the table agreed that it's hard to really screw up a steak. Well, it may be hard, but they managed. The best food I've ever had here has been decent. The worst food has been spit-it-back-out quality. (Complaining, or letting it go back uneaten, never does anything - neither gets you a comped drink or meal, nor gets to anyone who has the power to change anything - same bad, month after month, year after year.) So, if you are going for atmosphere, go. But eat somewhere else beforehand, or drink enough so you don't care. Or - wait - fill up on their potato croquettes. Because those are really great.
(2)Nick J.
Good location with a great view, but they are trying to bank on being trendy instead of serving good food. Not that the food was necessarily bad, but it just wasn't great. Very underwhelming. I won't be coming back.
(1)Cheryl N.
First time to Beckets was very surprised! The food was very good I had prosciutto wrapped halibut with fresh roasted asparagus and cherry tomatoes, also had the clam chowder was very good! My husband had the raspberry balsamic glazed salmon and asparagus, also had a salad he said was very good, I tasted the salmon was delicious! I was a little disappointed that we had to sit in the side dining room since it was our first time! The main dining room look lovely! I have to say we had an awesome waiter!!! His name was Kenneth, and he was quick, very happy, and very informative, made our experience extremely pleasant. The desserts were very good also, I had creme brûlée awesome and my husband had NY cheese cake with caramel drizzle was very good. Also being it was valentines day they gave all of the women red roses at the end of there dinners, very nice touch. Good experience. C Novo Omro Wi

One of the worst restaurants I've ever eaten at. The food and service is beyond unacceptable. Avoid at all costs.
(1)Alice E.
Me and my band buddy went here and I have to say it was pretty good! The decor reminded me a bit of a Seattle bar. The food was creative- comfort high-class -pub grub. Very nice place after work (or before, if you are in a band:)
(4)CC K.
Great atmosphere for grabbing a couple drinks. Food was good as well. Enjoyed the views of the river.
(4)Shabab G.
Finally, Oshkosh got a hip place to hang out and order drinkst. The location is great when summer rolls around, but the food is OK. The food just wasn't as nice as you'd think. Plus the wine selection was very short. Overall, love the decor, trendy hip place, but could increase the potential by improving the quality of the food. Best time to go: Thursday, happy hour all DAY! Call a cab. Brownie Sundae are great too.
(4)Carolyn R.
So disapointing. Beautiful space, great view, extremely mediocre food. Suffers from the "good enough" syndrome that plagues so many brewpubs or restaurants in landmark buildings - the menu items sound good in theory, the recipes seem ok and the assortment of dishes seems interesting enough, but the execution falls well short of competent because the patrons are interested in some hook other than the food. They seem to know the cool airy design and nice river view (plus reasonably extensive drinks menu) will keep people coming in, so just let some cheap turn & burn crew work the line. We ordered one special, one standard entre, one child's entre. The first worrysome sign was when the waiter explained what a skate was. Like I'm unfamiliar with common fish. hmmm. Then every single meat item came well overdone. Uh-oh. The seasonal veg item (pea pods) was boring and contained numerous sub-par off-color icky looking pea pods. Nothing was absolutely terrible, but nothing was good. mostly we we just embarrassed at ourselves for choosing the glitzy looking place with bad food instead of seeking out someplace more foodie-pleasing, we wasted both money and our meal opportunity in Oshkosh. We realized later we would have had better chances of getting something truly tasty by grabbing an assortment of local picnic items at of the organic food stores in town. Or maybe some local classic drive-in fare, something interesting & well executed, instead of poor food in a pretty setting. Great if you mostly want to get drunk while looking at the river, which is fine for some people, but we like food.
(2)Jenn W.
I used to love this place, still love the service & the bartenders, but last night after taking my husband out for his birthday I can only day YUK! We started with pico chips...pico was bland and tasted old, salt made it somewhat palatable (sigh...) Ordered steak & panko chicken. Steak was overcooked, chicken was coated in burnt panko, obviously taken from frozen to oven and over cooked (sigh...) Baked potato was cold...now that is almost impossible since a baked potato can hold it's heat for a LONG time...sad overall for me since I used to love this place. Were done, wont be back for food that's for sure..Oh yea the house Cabernet tasted like...nothing (sigh...)
(1)Mar P.
I was very impressed with their mordern-jazzy decor. Their menu/placemats are beautifully designed and well put together. Maybe because I visited during EAA, the waitresses were a bit jittery or just a bit overwhelmed...but mine seemed to just rant the daily specials...and everything else that came out of her mouth...so just kept it simple and did not ask many questions. I ordered a Blackened Seabass with vegetables...the portion was generous, and my bass tasted fresh. Customer service means everything to me when dining...I was not a fan of the waitstaff here, my Spotted Cow was warm by the time she was able to get it to me, and she simply asked me if I wanted the check, without asking me if I wanted dessert or coffee...BIG "no-no" for me...anyway....Becket's is alright with me, I will return for the view, decor, and ambiance...not so much for the service.

Wow! I'm so happy to see an Osh Kosh yelper! (see actual restaurant profile) I am an out of towner. I am used to exotic foods at my beckon call at any time in the bay area. Becket's was a total surprise for me because I thought it was a shoe store! I was taken for lunch here and had the salmon salad. I returned again for dinner that night and had a nice juicy steak with crab legs. Prices are awesome for someone like me. I'm used to paying a lot more for surf and turf. I will grant a 4 star review for innovative decor and a nice bar. I had 2 drinks, one cocktail and one local beer (new glarus-spotted cow). My total bill was $40 even. I am going to ding one star for the flies in the restaurant. A snazzy restaurant should NEVER have flies. It kind of made it hard to enjoy my 4 star dinner while shoo-ing flies off my crab legs.

A customer of mine was in town from Houston and as we sat at the hotel bar trying to decide where to go last night, we opted not to make the 30 minute drive to Appleton and instead to pay homage to the local establishments in Oshkosh. I casually mentioned Becket's location on the water and how they participated in my non-profit organization's annual fundraiser last week, so we decided to head on over as a sign of gratitude. I've been to Becket's a few times, but I candidly share that I've had both hits and misses when it came to the food execution. I enjoy the setting, the great view of the Fox River, and can appreciate the overall vast selection on the menu. Worth mentioning is that I give them many props for having contributed valuably to the use of the old Park Plaza mall, now dubbed the City Center, as well as their efforts in bringing forth a dining experience our community has been missing. As appetizers we chose the seared ahi tuna and artichoke & spinach dip, the latter being the best version of this dip that I have ever encountered. While munching on one of the blue and yellow tortilla chips that accompany this lovely appetite-inducer, I noted the mix of sour cream and cream cheese which Heather, our awesome server, so kindly acknowledged made up this best-ever-version. The special jumbo shrimp scampi over a bed of cheese-filled ravioli garnished with grilled asparagus was right up my alley, as for the Houstonian, it was no surprise he went the meat n' potatoes route with a sirloin and baked potato. Now Texans are big on steaks and not shy about communicating the expectations, luckily Heather understood and obviously relayed the info to the chef My customer was pleased, not to mention full, and I was more than satisfied with all the HITS and NO misses. Consensus you ask? Since imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, I'll quote the Governator himself "I'll be back."

Wednesday night is a great night at Becket's because they have special deals on good bottles of wine and live, jazz music. The food is good, but our own request is that they have more options for vegetarians and that is why I didn't give a 5 star. We usually eat a Walnut burger, which is fine, but not great (it is sort of bland tasting and falls apart). Or, we get the nachos, which are good and the portion is large. The only other options for us are an "adult grilled cheese," which is over priced for what it is, or lasagna, which is good. The ambiance is great--very modern and cool. I do like that they are trying to use locally grown vegetables when they can get them.

Outside seating was nice. Food was on the bland side.

Great atmosphere for happy hour! The cocktails were a great deal and the bartender was great. We had dinner afterwards and enjoyed the great view of the river. The service was fantastic, and the food was good. A nice variety and well prepared.

So disappointed. The restaurant is aesthetically pleasing with a beautiful view of the river. Our initial service was great, we were brought drinks and (ho-hum) appetizers immediately after being seated. The service bombed after that. Our table ended up creating a pile in the middle of the table of our empty drinks. Our servers would bring 1 or 2 drinks and walk away with nothing, leaving empty glasses and dishes at the table. It was only after we stacked the dishes that the wait staff finally removed them. We had to politely ask for quicker service (our waiter was better after that and even brought us bread 1 1/2 hours after being seated). Seated at 6:30, now 8:30 finally being serves dinner. My steak was over cooked and my veggies were cold when I was served. The restaurant is not packed, I would at least understand if it were. I will not be back.

Becket's it's a good place to eat in the summer and sometimes during the winter. They have nice specials and a very good happy hour compare to other restaurants. They are reasonably priced and the environment is good. One thing that I did not like from one of my recent visit is that they had special "menu" for the "holiday", which happened to be V-day, and everything was extremely overpriced. The restaurant was empty and they shoudlve just kept the regular menu for that day. We decided not to dine there and left to Vitale's on Murdock (which ended up being a great choice)

I was here with a larger group and was shocked by the style of this restaurant that was built within an old shopping center. The outdoor patio looked great and had a marvelous view of the lake and docked boats. We sat in a private room complete with a wall of windows looking out to the rest of the restaurant. That was an issue for me, it was neat, but very hard to tell where the window was and where the door was. I was very careful not to walk into the window. There was lots of good items on the menu that included local Wisconsin cheesy favorites to some higher class type dishes. The food was great, but didn't blow me away. Service was a bit slow as well but the staff was very friendly.

Fabulous spot for lunch or dinner. Right on the Fox river with spectacular views! The food there is fantastic, we have eaten there several times. Recently I had their vegetarian burger, best one I've ever eaten! If you weren't told it was vegetarian you wouldn't know, I ordered the cares with fresh mozzarella, tomato and pesto so fresh and served on a toasted bun. Their potato croquettes are out of this world, garlic mashed potatoes made in to a ball and breaded....so yummy....they have happy hour half price appetizers and drinks daily from 3-6; and all day on Thursday!

Just because someone is coming here for Oshkosh, doesn't mean you can marginalize the group. From being stuck in a room away from the restaurant to charging us for items we didn't order. The service was awful.
