Chinese Cuisine
The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.
Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.
There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.

Stopped here based on a good review on another site. It turns out that was a mistake. This is fast-food style stuff where you get it on a tray like you're eating at a hospital cafeteria. And the food is as bland as a hospital cafeteria. The prices were outrageously expensive, all things considered. We ordered the chicken fried rice and the sweet sour chicken, both got cold within a few minutes of being served. Everything seemed like it was pre-made and just heated up. The chicken fried rice contained the little squares of pressed chicken like you would find in a can. The little carrot specks were about the same. The sweet and sour chicken was drowning in sauce that was gooey because it was cold. The stuff was just nasty. On the other hand the staff was really nice and they brought our food to our table, which I think you normally have to go up to the counter and get it on your cafeteria tray.

Disclaimer: If you're looking for typical cheap and fast chinese food, go somewhere else. If you're looking for authentic Korean-Chinese food, come here. This is not your typical Chinese restaurant. It would actually be better characterized as a Korean Restaurant that serves Korean-Chinese food. For more information, you can go read wikipedia ( en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ko… ). Anyway, Korean-Chinese food is a staple in Korean cuisine. And although the inspiration originally came from China, it has definitely undergone major changes to adapt it to Korean cuisine. The the two main dishes you want to order are the SamSun ChaChang or the SamSun ChamPong. This is their specialty and the only dishes that Korean people order when they come here. I've eaten these two dishes everywhere, and I can confidently say that the dish is on par with places all over the country. Next time I go, I'll probably try some other things on the "Home Made Noodle" section as well as some of the Chef's Specialties (which are typically dishes that you share with others as you enjoy your own noodles). FYI, these dishes are on the last page of the menu. As an aside, this happens a lot for asian cuisine. Most of the authentic stuff doesn't get advertised as much because of the lack of demand and knowledge about the food. I tried both the ChaChang and ChamPong dishes. The ChaChang is a noodle dish that is served with a black bean sauce. It's a savory dish that is served hot. It's not soupy and would actually have the consistency of a spaghetti ( en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ja… ). The ChamPong is a noodle dish served in a spicy broth and comes with vegetables and seafood. Extremely good for a cold winter day ( en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jj… ). Here is a sample meal for two: 1 SamSun ChaChang, 1 SamSun ChamPong, and 1 Bejing Chicken. It's a shame that people just think of this place as a typical Chinese restaurant and then come out disappointed. But I guess that's how the owners marketed themselves since there probably isn't much of a market for authentic Korean-Chinese food. In any case, go there and try my suggestions and then see how you like it. Hopefully if this place gets popular more authentic asian places will start to crop up in the area. Support Authentic Food!

In Milwaukee last weekend with my wife. On the way home my wife needed to eat. We turned off I-94 and found Yen Hwa Chinese Restaurant. As I walked in I smelled a great smell and saw a patron sitting eating a soup. I asked the counter female he confirmed my desire for it to be Cham Pong. This is a favorite soup of my back by Chicago and there are very few restaurants that came make it to my liking (Heat & sour-along with fresh seafood items in it. I was very pleased. It was very close to one of my favorite places back home. The workers were very attentive. I had a nice discussion about Cham Pong. My wife had a chicken dish. We both theft pleseantly satiated. A good end to a nice Milwaukee day. If you know Cham Pong and are in the area, try Yen Hwa's Cham Pong.

My husband and I were really disappointed. The sesame chicken was the best thing and it was very salty. The "fried" rice was just white rice with some carrots and scrambled eggs in it. It has no seasonings at all. We will not be going here again. Spent 20$ and my husband was still hungry!

Since we just got back from vacation and the weather we pretty icky we were hoping to get some dinner delivered. I came across this place here on yelp using the filter for delivery but when I called I was told they DO NOT deliver. We were hungry so we picked up some takeout from here tonight. We were pleasantly surprised after some of the negative reviews we had read. We stopped in to pick up our order the place was bigger than most other quick chinese/ take out places and pretty empty but it was very clean and kind of modern or a little nicer I guess for a quick takeout chinese type place. I wouldn't be opposed to eating there versus taking food home. We ordered a couple egg rolls and they were awesome! They were still steaming hot even after our 5-10 min carries home. They had a very thin light crunchy wonton and great flavor of the cabbage and meat inside. We also ordered the beef with black mushrooms and the chicken chow mein which were also really good. Bummed that they don't deliver but will definitely try this place again for take out.

We're trying new restaurants in the area and stumbled upon Yen Hwa. Some reviews were great, some were terrible. We got something in between. There sweet and sour shrimp had excellent texture but no flavor. Whatever corn starch mixture they used held together very well but some salt was needed. Inside of the restaurant was great though. I would never have judged it from the parking lot. We're still on the hunt for some really good Chinese food. Sad we did not find it here.

Tables were sticky and not clean. Bathroom was just gross. Food was sub par. You may have better luck at Panda Express (gag). Just didnt seem fresh, and sauces seemed off. Its hard to mess up sweet and sour chicken...however, staff was really nice. Make friends, not food.

Friendly, fast and clean service! Korean/Chinese food! Delicious! I got the shrimp fried rice and Champong noodles! Was delicious and not overly greasy like most Chinese restaurants!

Won't eat here again. Mr. Man with the tattoo at the counter was the rudest thing in the world. What a nasty person. I hope you read this - you need to be in the back cooking food, where you have no contact with people! The food was not impressive either. The fried rice was yellow and light instead of darker and brown. The sauce on my meal was so salty, didn't need any soy sauce! (darn I put some on already) That can't be good. Won't go back. Don't recommend. There's plenty more to choose from.

Decent for take-out, never eaten in. I'd recommend the fried or steamed dumplings, egg rolls and either chicken or beef with broccoli. The lo mein is pretty good, and so is their fried rice. The general tso's chicken wasn't all that great though. But, I really did like the fried rice here. I do suggest that most dishes need some extra bite, so I always ask for them to be spicier.

This is very good Chinese food and they cook it really fast. The spicy, crispy chicken is pretty good. What would make it even better, is if they would deep fry the chicken to order because the "crispy chicken" is usually less than crispy. The spring rolls are delicious, as are the rangoons. The fried rice is a little dry, however, it's not bad. The homemade noodles are very good. The portion size is very small, even when you pay more for the dinner size. I would return, but not often. The dining room is very clean and cozy and the staff is very warm and friendly.

Not bad. The food was a little bland, but we still enjoyed our lunch and wouldn't mind going back.

We love Yen Hwa - it's our go-to place for Chinese food. The General Tso's chicken is a favorite and the noodle soups (particularly the seafood one) are a tasty and healthier option. The chicken they use is lean white meat and the veggies are always fresh.

After checking the reviews here first I ordered takeout here tonight and decided to write the review to adress some of the past reviews of this place here on yelp. After reading the what seemed like mostly negative reviews, I was pleasantly suprised when I walked in. The restaurant is very clean, the first impression was good. My food was right on time and steaming hot, the price while it seemed a little high (sesame chicken and crab rangoon for just over a 10 spot) the serving size was quite large (my fiance and I both ate 1 order and still have a little left over). The quality of chicken was very good compared to most chinese restaurants ive eaten at although the sesame sauce was a little bland, I spritzed a little soy sauce on it and it was great. Crab rangoon was a little soggy but tasty, I am looking foreward to eating here again.

Paid $9.25 for a sesame chicken dinner, totally overpriced for the amount of food. I cook with sesame, and this was a poor example of an exemplary flavor.

GREAT Chinese food here. Ingredients taste fresh, and the atmosphere is great. We frequent this place quite a bit and have never had bad service or any other problems. Try it, you won't regret it!
