Mexican Cuisine
If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.
Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.
Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.

Loved, loved, loved their food! The restaurant is really cool, the decor makes you feel like you are in a real Mexican villa. They have piñatas on the walls, and the wall colors are true to Mexican heritage. The staff is amazing, really nice people, friendly and know what they are serving. I saw one of the employees devouring a taco during his break, and it made me like this place even more! The employees eat what they serve which is always a great sign! The food was just perfect! The tortillas for the salsa were clearly made in the restaurant. Super fresh and crunchy. The refried beans were cooked to perfection. I had the fajitas, I was upset because I couldn't finish because the serving was so big. It was so good!!! I wish I lived closer to them, so I could go more often. Highly recommend it!

My boyfriend, daughter, and I ended up driving north on HWY 41 on a spur-of-the-moment car ride for no good reason other than me complaining that we "Need an adventure." We got hungry somewhere around Neenah (the manhole capital of the world). We stopped at El Azteca and were pleasantly surprised. Good Mexican food in the middle of nowhere Wisconsin. I ordered the Flautas Mexicanas and they were delicious. Not as good as El Paisa's, but who's are? Crisp not dry, flavorful not bland. That's all I ask for in a flauta. My boyfriend ordered one of their combinations, but I can't remember which one. I wish I could for the sake of reviewing it, but he did say that it was great. *Interesting story: At the end of our meal, before the check came, our server appeared out of nowhere and served us two free shots of some kind of coffee/chocolatey flavored liqueur. (Maybe Kahlua?) Anyway, my boyfriend doesn't drink at all so it fell upon me to drink both of them. (Poor me.) This was my first taste of alcohol in nearly two years (because of having a child) so it hit me like a ton of bricks. I thought that was really neat of the server/restaurant to do that. As simple and small of a gesture as that was, it'll probably be something I never forget- The time we drove North, ate at that restaurant, and were given shots after our meal.

This is a great Mexican chain. This location in particular puts on a great show by delivering your meals to you on their heads!!! My daughter watches in awe (me to) as they carry huge trays with no hands. The food is excellent. They also have the best lemonade / limeade frozen drink (NA)... A must try!!!

Om nom nom! Seriously tasty food here. Always fast, cheap, and oh-so-satisfying. Whenever I'm in town, El Azteca is on my list of places to re-visit. Our table will start with an order of the guacamole, and if I'm hungry, I'll get the Burrito Azteca. If I'm feeling mildly virtuous, however, I'll get a bean burrito and/or a tostaguac. Their chimichangas also have an amazing cheesy white sauce that just makes the dish. Share a pitcher of margaritas with the family while you're at it. (I also thoroughly enjoy the tasty dessert shot they give you to finish your meal.)

It reminded me of Chi-Chi's way back in the day. Was ok.

We came in for the EAA air show. This is worth the drive form Oshkosh. Aztec food and a great golden margarita! Had a burrito and it was delicious. The chips and salsa were outstanding.

My search for authentic mexican food in the Fox Valley since I moved back has posed quite a difficult challenge! Nothing from what I've seen so far will come close to CA but that's pretty much to be expected since the (spicy) taste buds here are a lot less on the milder side than there. Overall, I really liked a lot of what this restaurant had...the atmosphere, the decor, the service and the food. The tortilla chips were real and fried. The salsa was pretty good (of course I had to add lots of green habanero sauce for spice but it had a nice flavor to begin with). My main entree...I was pleasantly surpised when I got my crab and shrimp enchiladas (Enchilada Acapulco) because they tasted wonderful and had a lot of real crab in them. The margaritas I thought were a bit weak (now thats where WI tradition should really be coming in...lol) but yummy. It will be a great place to get a bunch of people together and have a awesome time. So, yes...I plan on going back (with a group or otherwise).

Awesome servers who always have a surprise delivery for you. Very cool birthday events if you let them know in advance. Food is always good and service is very great. Reasonable prices. Awesome after dinner (alcoholic) ice cream shot avail upon request.

I struggle with this review because I generally like El Azteca (I've mostly visited the Kimberly location), but this location...not so much. The floors were REALLY slippery, I almost slipped a few times. Also, the booths are too big for two people. We felt like we were super far apart. Our waiter was attentive as always, so that was good. But, when we ordered our food, I swear it came out in less than 5 minutes. It made you wonder if the food was already plated and waiting for someone to order it. It also didn't state on the menu that tomatoes and onions are in the burrito, and my date doesn't like tomatoes or onions, so he didn't eat his food. I felt terrible. I always feel like the food is much more bland here than the other location. I've eaten here several times and have always made the comment about the beans and rice being blah. It would be nice to have some flavor. Overall, I'll probably come here again, but only if I'm on that side of town. Otherwise, I'll be heading to Solea's or Zacatecas.

Soooooo delicious. The atmosphere is great, food is crazy fast to your table, and the staff can be very entertaining! They will sometimes carry all the drinks out on their head.

The server was extremely friendly although there was a bit of a language barrier. It did not; however affect our service or order so it's actually something I look for in an ethnic restaurant. It tells me that people of that culture/nationality really work there and the food should be authentic. Wasn't overly hungry (yeah, I know... Mexican isn't the best cuisine to go for when you aren't really hungry lol!) so I decided to try the Mexican chicken soup even though I thought it was a bit expensive for soup. That judgement went out the window as soon as I saw my bowl though... it was HUGE. Biggest bowl of soup I've seen... I easily took 2/3 of it home and it's amazing reheated. And honestly the best soup I've had at a restaurant as well. My only improvements I would make on the soup: served w/ tortilla chips instead of just a warm tortilla, served w/ guacamole and salsa verde in addition to the sour cream, and there was a bit too much rice for my preference. My biggest complaint was with my drink. I ordered the diablo margarita. Our server kept wanting me to blow out the shot and remove it, but it would not go out. I finally was able to blow it out and carefully went to remove it per the urging of our waiter... and promptly burned 2 of my fingers. Only then did he take the drink to remove the flaming shot... which he did not bring back. For $11 I should have also been able to drink the shot.
