My wife and I wandered over here the last morning we were in Minocqua. My wife had her heart set on a blueberry muffin, but alas - they were out. She then saw the "Bird's Nest" on the breakfast menu - a large mug filled with breakfast potatoes into which a poached egg is nestled, then layered with cheese. This is served with toast and fruit. It looked inviting, so we both ordered that dish. We were not disappointed! It was very tasty, the fruit was nice and fresh, and the toast was perfect. This alone would have made for a nice breakfast. However, when you add in the wonderful coffee and the outdoor seating along the shores of Lake Minocqua, the result is a wonderful experience. I highly recommend Signature JMK for a relaxing breakfast in the Northwoods.

This place is pretty awesome! Wonderful atmosphere, beautifully decorated. Limited menu but that's okay with me. great food! Try the muffins too. Staff could have a little more personality. But I really liked this place. Can't wait to go back.

Meh. After seeing the rave reviews, we were expecting a really good meal. Messed up some of the orders and the food itself was overpriced and wholly mediocre. Portions are very small. Service was very slow. Was hoping to find a new great change of pace in town. Not so much. Also, this is NOT a place for kids. No good kid options - even for adventurous eating kids. Menu just too limited.

Stopped in for a cup of coffee. There is a tiny area for getting coffee, tea (huge selection!), and something sweet to eat. By tiny, I mean that we were constantly trying to find a way to get out of the way of the three ladies who were checking out after their lunch. Sadly, it took a loong time for the person to check out the three ladies. The cashier seemed frustrated by her own slowness and seemed to take out it out (a lot) on the young lady who was waiting on us. Adorable decor, both inside and out. There's a lot of outdoor seating in front, overlooking the old Bosacki's and the lake.

This is the best new place in Minocqua to enjoy good food, celebrate friendship, and enjoy the best view of Lake Minocqua. The outdoor patio will be the best place to watch the Min-aquabat water ski show in the summer. They served the best hot chocolate I have ever had. The decor is warm and inviting, beautifully decorated, a true gem in the Northwoods. You must stop by Signature JMK House to support this new business.

Exceptional views, very unique and comfy sitting rooms in which to enjoy your cup of coffee. But rooms and views don't make a good cup of coffee and unfortunately I couldn't drink three sips of mine. So insanely bitter even after adding more syrup. Hubby liked his sandwich quite a bit but I was just completely turned off by my drink. My first time there .... Not sure if I'll give it another shot (get it? Shot?)

I was home visiting the Northwoods and had breakfast with 2 of my sisters here this morning. Hands down, one of the BEST things I have ever eaten was the strata. Served with a little fresh fruit and some toasted hearty bread, it was absolutely delicious. Just enough ham, not too eggy, very creamy and seasoned to perfection. One of my sisters had the Bird's Nest and she said that it, too, was really good. We are a family of great cooks, so compliments do not come lightly from us. This little place is a GEM. The setting overlooking the river is beautiful, the seating areas inside make you feel as if you are a guest in someone's home, and just as welcome. All in all, I'm so glad we stopped here instead of simply picking up a scone at a bakery as planned. What a treat this was! Great job, Signature JMK. You have 3 new fans. :) Please build a restaurant in La Crosse!

This place is a fabulous, well hidden gem. I almost did not want to post a review so it is not overly crowded next time I am able to visit. :) It's very clear that everything from the food to the service to the decor is incredibly detailed and well thought through. The house is a historic landmark that's been renovated (original structure) but still has intricate charm and elegance all in the same. If you have a chance to go upstairs with a big group (6-8) i highly recommend the room with the open window and sandy rock walls. Absolutely gorgeous. Can't forget the food.. Breakfast was delicious - The menu is limited which I like; 3-4 breakfast items but can also order muffins and most coffee drinks. My boyfriend and I split the raspberry muffin.. To die for. The coffee was great too + free refills.. I had a cheese broccoli and egg soufflé that came with toast and a mix of fruit. It's clear that the fruit was hand picked and individually placed on the plate (this sounds silly but when you order you'll know what I mean)! Experience is in the details! The outside seating is abundant, although it was a bit too windy to be outside. The only thing I would recommend would be to brighten up the garden out there. It is a little dull and to be honest I think flowers would be much more inviting during the summertime. I had no idea this place existed until it was recommended to us. It's definitely a foodie type place. I am sure families are welcome, but keep in mind this is not Paul bunyans! It is very quiet and should stay that way. This is a perfect escape.. Especially for the ladies out there that come up to minocqua and want to find something unique and escape from some of the fishing/camping :) 5 stars from me.

The best coffee house, lunch spot in Minocqua! We are very lucky to have JMK now, and what a great job they've done pulling it all together! You can't get a better view from the sunporch, and I can't wait to sit out in the summer and watch the boats go by. The food is creative and consistently good as are all the baked goods. The espresso drinks are excellent and the JMK team is the most friendly around! It's a beautiful space to sit and chat and enjoy coffee and food. No, it's not "north woods" at all, but it's a welcome change for Minocqua, and the best place to sit and relax. Can't wait to try it in the afternoons/evenings when they start their wine/appetizer servings.

So darling - like stepping into a magazine - French Country Living. Grab a book, get a pot of tea and simply relax.

What a pleasant surprise! A wonderful addition to downtown Minocqua, which is know for it's touristy establishments. JMK doesn't skimp on quality or charm. The owner is in the business because she loves it- and it shows. We popped in a couple of times over the course of our stay, and she was always there, ready to meet and greet the customers. The private dining rooms upstairs are cute as can be. Hopefully they're a huge hit when they open later this season. For those searching for beautiful lake views and a touch of class, JMK is the place to be.

Situated a few hundred feet west of the former Bosacki's, on Park Ave, Signature is located in a cir 1925 Sears Roebuck kit home facing Lake Minocqua. The property has been METICULOUSLY restored, with finishes and touches making for a fantastic, warm, "homey" feel. The great smells from the kitchen knock you out as you open the front door to the foyer- you're not in the "northwoods" anymore. How to describe it... I feel like I'm in Door County, or the east coast. The coffee... The coffee needs help. I have tried their coffee out... Too many times. I have to say, some help is needed in the coffee department- it does a TERRIBLE disservice to the food! First off, the coffee is weak. Really weak. Dial back the water, use a finer grind, or use more coffee per batch. Next, ditch the ground espresso EVERY night- using stale espresso... no good. Empty that grinder every night- I've easily gotten three espresso drinks made with stale espresso. Water filtration may be a sound idea on the espresso machine, in addition to dialing-in the grind in an effort to ensure the shots aren't too bitter. Your shots are taking too long to pour, resulting in bitterness. Next, flavored espresso drinks... Double the syrup, if not more than double. The flavored espresso drinks don't TASTE flavored, but then, that could be the stale, bitter espresso talking. I mean... You're a coffee house first, right? This isn't really something you can slip up on- there are too many half-assed coffee places in town as it is! I'd describe the food as rustic- I had the brioche for breakfast, which came with a side of fruit. Great flavors, great portions- their meals are a great solution for someone needing a quick quality breakfast on the run! The seating is inspiring. As I sit in the sunroom porch on the first floor, I have a million dollar view of Lake Minocqua. Every room has a coziness and uniqueness unlike any coffee or breakfast establishment I've ever visited. Upstairs, there are private tea rooms you can reserve, even a reading nook. What I can only imagine was a former walk-in closet is now set to be a very unique clothing boutique- not for me, but the wife will love it (so long as the clothing isn't exclusively geared toward baby-boomers (read, sequins are a no-no))! You are truly missing out if you don't stop in and check this place out! Two thumbs up- a truly unique, quality experience... Just perhaps avoid the coffee, at least until I hear the recipes and practices have been altered and change my review here.

Went here 3 times during our stay in Minocqua. My hubby and I sat outside in the comfortable chairs and relaxed with our coffee. another time my girlfriend and i stopped in the afternoon for iced coffee. another time i came by myself and sat outside and read with a cup of coffee. The place is adorable with a beautiful view of the lake. This is now my go-to coffee shop. They have wine in the evening too but we didn't visit at night. Check out the shop and the adorable sitting rooms!

I only had coffee here on a rainy Saturday morning. Sadly, I'd already eaten breakfast, but I wanted another cup of coffee so off I went to find a coffee shop in Minocqua. I sure wish I'd have found this place on the first day we were here instead of on the last day! The atmosphere is charming, the help very nice, the food is fresh and prepared to order. How I wish I'd had room for a meal because it all looked delicious! The coffee was by far one of the best I've ever had. I look forward to returning to Minocqua so I can return to Signature JMK House.
