It was our second night in Minocqua and didn't really feel like going out for dinner. Plus, there was a football game on that we wanted to watch, so we figured we'd order some pizza. This place was highly recommended by the place we were staying and some Yelp tips left by Chicagoans said that it was sooo good and they should know because they're from Chicago blah blah blah. So am I and I'll tell you that this wasn't all that spectacular. First of all, they don't deliver. I'm not going to totally hold that against them because it is a small town, so maybe they don't have enough people around town to justify having a delivery service. That's fine. I placed my order for pick-up for a 16" with ground pork sausage and green peppers. The menu I found said something about sausage pizza sauce or something to that effect. No idea what that means so I didn't think anything of it. The way it was written made it seem like they were just listing ingredients out. Shrug. It was ready quick enough. We opened the wrapping and saw the pizza cut into rectangles. What? Who cuts pizza like that? It's either triangles or squares. Not long ass rectangles. How are you even supposed to hold that without everything falling off? We took a pizza cutter and cut it into squares. The crust was okay. Kind of flavorless. The cheese was amazing, which is to be expected in Wisconsin. There was a good amount of it too, so it was nice and gooey. The chunks of pepper were a little big, but still good. Here's the problem: the sauce. Now I know what that description of the sauce meant. They cut up the sausage into tiny bits and put it in the sauce, so you get bits of meat in every bite. Sounds okay in theory, but in execution, it's kind of off-putting. Every time you eat, you get bits of sausage stuck in your gums, teeth, and cheeks. It's like you have to rinse with water every time. I couldn't wait to brush my teeth. Vegetarians beware. We had regular-sized pieces of sausage on the pizza, so I don't think it was exclusive to our pizza. It made the eating experience not too enjoyable and we didn't even want to save the rest for the next day like we would normally do with leftover pizza. These guys aren't the only pizza place in town (believe it or not), so when I'm back, I think I'll try somewhere else.

THE best pizza in town. We have a standing order every Friday night we come into town. The sauce is what makes it. The billy bread is amazing too.

I've had pizza from here a few times, pizza is probably my favorite food so I can tell a good one from a bad one. I've never dined in here, but when I come in to pick it up, the atmosphere is average. The employees are friendly. but the pizza is just O.K.

I read the reviews both good and bad. The bad reviews were the reason I wanted to go. Thick crust, loved it! Spicy sauce, loved it!! 1/4" inch cheese and over stuffed toppings...loved it, loved it, loved it!!! Awesome pizza, best I've had in a while. Great service, great specialty pizzas!

Grabbed Minocqua Pizza Co pizza based on readers reviews. Sauce too spicy, crust too thick, small & evenly sized balls of sausage. Gave my spouse heartburn. The teenagers did not like it at all. I'm sorry that this is an unfavorable review but I had to be honest.

I've never complained about a preponderance of toppings, but I am now. I think Minocqua Pizza Company is trying too hard. There was a 1/4" of mozzarella on my pie, and it caused structural failure. Even though the pizza was sliced into nice, slim, easy-to-handle pieces, the weight of the toppings caused the crispy crust to sag, resulting in cheese, sausage, mushrooms, green peppers, and onions spilling out all over the place. In addition, the over use of cheese caused the pizza to appear to be under cooked, i.e., the topping wasn't bubbly and golden brown, but flat and white. I think the pizzeria could do themselves and their customers a favor by applying toppings judiciously and baking to perfection. It's got to be hard to survive up here in the North Woods, and I hope Minocqua Pizza Company gets the recipe right.

we've been up to the minocqua area twice now, spending a weekend at a cabin in the neighboring town of lac de flambeau. the first time there, we came across the minocqua pizza company. the place was packed for lunch, so we ordered a large cheese pizza and pepperoni calzone to go. the pizza smelled so damn good in the ride back to the cabin, that we ended up burning our fingers just to try a piece on the way. this second time it was the one place we had to go back to. we got there saturday afternoon, around 1pm and the place was surprisingly empty. so the 9 of us got a table, ordered 1 large chese, 1 medium sausage (half italian, half homemade spicy pork) and a couple shared a calzone. let's just say that it is seriously one of the best pizzas ever. i'm not sure if it's the perfect crust (right thickness, right chewiness with crusty outer ring), the sauce (not too much, spiced properly) or the cheese (layers of gooey cheese). i'm guessing since this is wisconsin, that the cheese must be made locally, and therefore delicious! the homemade spicy pork was so good. it had a bit of a crunch to it almost, and wasn't too spicy. more like breakfast sausage spice level. the service was great as well, very hospitable. the waitress even recommended other local spots to try for icecream, etc. if you ever find yourself in this area, please stop by and get yourself a cheese pizza. i promise it's THAT good.

First visit, so we ordered a black olive and tomato pizza, Billy bread and a mushroom and sausage calzone. Everything was very good; we loved the sauce having a little bite, generous toppings and tasty crust. The Billy bread was amazing! We will return!

Dinner was good the only complaint was the wait time for table I don't mind waiting..but don't tel me 15 minutes when it's more like 45...tomato flatbread appetizer was really good, beer cheese soup was great, pub steak and spicy shrimp was really good as well. Was packed when we were there.. Love that they allowed dogs on patio for dinner too!
