Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country. While the base and the texture of Pizza remains same across the globe, it's the toppings that differs from country to country. In the United States, you will find the top pizzerias serving pizzas with the toppings of mainly beef, bacon, chicken, ham, and sausage for the non-vegetarians. Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.
Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Pizza is hot favorite among people of all ages in the United States. A large size pizza is enough to feed a family of 3 or 4 at large. Pizza is also the most preferred food whenever a group of friends is hanging out together. Pizza gained popularity in the United States after the American soldiers stationed in Italy returned from World War II.
Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations. Pizza gained popularity as the iconic dish in the United States in the second half of the 20th century. Whether you prefer thin or thick crust pizza, you can find a pizza of your preference at the best pizza restaurants in your city.

This pizza is soooo good. Especially like the crust, has a nice crisp edge and not loaded with sugar like places do now a days. They put a good amount of toppings on the pie using fresh veggies. I usually get the chicken topping, seems like mostly white meat.

Pizza was great! The garlic cheesy bread was delicious as well. I found a new favorite pizza place.

One and done. This is the first and will be my last time eating from here. First off, 25 minutes turned into 45 minutes for my pizza to be done. And then when I got home to dive in, 75% of the pizza was soggy from the grease. I could only eat the outer crust.

I ordered a pizza and got soup. A big pile of pizza soup. I am surprised people delivery drive for a them considering that the interior of their car would be destroyed from grease splashing.

I love their pizza. 5 meat, deluxe and bbq chicken are my favorites. Their garlic cheese sticks are to die for. They have great coupons and deals. Go get them!

This is definitely our go-to pizza place, and not just because it's right in our neighborhood. Great pizza, especially Andrew's Buffalo Chicken. We also love the Cheesy Garlic Sticks and Hoagies. Delivery or pickup is usually quick, and they always give you coupons for next time.

I've been here a few times. I've heard great things from several people so I always would give this place the benefit of the doubt. Sadly after 3 tries I' d have to say I'm done here. The pizzas are kinda pricey (which is ok..) but for what I paid for them I was very unsatisfied. Today I went in there again, and ordered something completely different. Hoping for a redemption. Nope. My sandwich was sub par and the chicken tenders were also unpleasant. I also ordered a dressing w/ my chicken tenders, which I did not get. 4th strike. Unimpressed and disappointed. Never going back.

Had the deluxe pizza, delivered; Middle soggy, toppings and sauce lacked flavor, parts of top burned. Will not order from here again.

We had a gathering at Estabrook Beer Garden last night, and had 5 pizzas delivered to us. The guy on the phone was really helpful when I ordered, and the delivery guy was great too. He even helped us carry all of our stuff from the car to the tables :) Pizza was great (we did the hand tossed gourmet pizzas) and everyone liked it. I'd definitely order from Upper Crust again!

Never again. This was by far the worst pizza I've ever had. It was so incredibly greasy that all I ate was the crust. There's a review from a couple months ago that states the center of the pizza was basically caved in, and that's absolutely accurate. I spent $20 on this pizza and it was nowhere near the quality I expected for the price. I will not be coming here again.

Keep in mind that each type of pizza (hand-tossed, deep dish, thin crust, stuffed) is its own food group and you can't compare them. That being said, Upper Crust is my barometer for all hand-tossed pizza; ever since I went Upper Crust I've been saying "What Hut?" The crust is chew and flavorful, the sauce the right amount, with great pepperoni and sausage. If you're a cheese or garlic lover, go with the Cheese Bread, you won't be disappointed.

Had a split a pepperoni and veggie--they cook up a pretty mean pie! Wasn't as impressed with the cheesy bread, but whatevs, that wasn't the reason I tried this place and isn't a reason not to go back.

Do yourself a favor and avoid this place at all costs. Upper Crust has two major flaws that I think any patron would find difficult to over look. Very poor customer service and inconsistent food quality/preparation. Being a working professional, I have limited time to prepare meals throughout the week and often look to order out. Upper Crust has delivered to my house on five occasions and out of those five occasions, only one was acceptable. On two occasions, they forgot the pepperoni on their Pepperoni Plus pizza. TWO TIMES IN A ROW! Despite this, I decided to give them another try. On my last attempt to order from Upper Crust, it was decided that I would never give them another cent. I experienced possibly the worst customer service I have ever experienced over the phone. The customer service associate was short, rude, disinterested in talking to me and had a very condescending tone. I pointed this out to the gentlemen on the phone and he became angry and confrontational with me. When I asked to speak to his manager, he simply hung up on me. I attempted to call a few more times after this and was hung up on each time. My assumption was that the gentlemen was trying to avoid me talking to his manager. That was the point I decided to never buy from Upper Crust again. Which lead me to discover another pizza joint far more worthy of my coin, Vedo's Pizza. I have since ordered at least a dozen pizzas from Vedo's and have never been disappointed. Great service, better pizza and most importantly CONSISTENCY!

I've gotten grub from this place twice now, and both times it was no disappointment. I've only had the hand-tossed pizza, which is a quality, crisp-chewy crust pizza that tastes homemade, not grease covered and commercial. Big salads. Standard, but well prepared, appetizers. The only better crust I've had in town is Classic Slice, but there's a few spots I need to hit before I crown a pizza sensei of Milwaukee. Upper crust is totally good stuff. When I got delivery it was prompt and hot. Not as cheap as some of the better known pizza joints about town, but still a lesser-known spot worth trying.

Rippin hot wings with blue cheese dressing and solid pizza everytime. My neighborhood favorite !
(4)Megan H.
Great pizza and salad. They threw in some garlic bread for free! Definitely coming back/ ordering for delivery again.
(4)Angie K.
Very good pizza, especially the cracker thin crust! I had the Garlic, Spinach, and Mushroom (aka GSM).

No BS it's fantastic! NY Style pizza in the bay has risen to the challenge. Don't forget the Cheesticks or a spare pair of panties...This place is the real deal!
(5)Jill K.
This place has amazing pizza. Fresh ingredients, and the best tasting crust & sauce. I would have to say it's my favorite pizza! It may be a little out of the way but it's well worth it.

This place seemed to fall off the map for a bit, but it looks to be growing at a rapid pace now. Their pizzas are great and they've got some real good options aside from the usual sausage and pepperoni. I'm a fan of the Garden Harvest pizza. They recently added a real thin crust to the selection. It should be interesting to see what they do with it in the future. Aside from pizza, Upper Crust has the usual appetizers, salads, pastas and sandwiches. They've got two kinds of Philly cheese steak sandwiches. An "East Coast" that is pretty typical, but their "Italian Style Philly" is a really neat twist on an old favorite. They pretty much stick with carry out and delivery. Times are usually quick, but plan on a few extra minutes nights and weekends during peak hours. Their staff is always friendly. Sometimes a little rushed, but they get things done as fast as possible. As long as you give them ample notice, food is always hot and ready when you want it. Definitely worth checking out. And definitely better than any franchise pizza place.

Trying to figure out this places' niche... I jumped at it like I thought I should with no menu, called and ordered a meat-lovers for delivery with high expectations. Pizza delivered; but, the center of the crust was extremely soft and I was frustrated with what I received. It wasn't undercooked, but realizing the four meat grease was the most likely culprit, finished the first slice, and threw the box in the fridge. I told myself to relax and that we (proverbial) were going to work with it, since Yelp! reviews led me to believe this pie was something special. Please mind the alternate definitions of the word special (I'm thinking of the bricks of ham placed on the pizza). I lovingly toaster-ovened the slices for the rest of the week with mixed reviews that were not necessarily time-dependent. It went from love at second bite, to confusion as to why it felt so right, to getting downright dirty with it, and then the ounce of regret following an entire week of eating leftover za. Once smitten, forever smitten. My toaster oven is now a total mess; however, my stomach felt damn fine and still think this place still has potential. Next time I will order a less-gratuitus za and more likely be impressed.

It's pretty hard for me to be wowed by pizza, but upper crust is pretty darn good. We ordered two pepperoni pizzas and two salads... Upper crust isn't the cheapest pizza, but the size and amount of ingredients is reminiscent of what pizza use to be. I ordered hand tossed (usually a thin crust guy) and this is one of the few times where I had two slices and was full. The toppings are generous and it was delivered steaming hot. Not sure what type of ovens they use, but the crust was a little charred and crispy, just the way I like it. We also had two salads, a chef and greek. The salads are also very large and could feed two easily. My Greek salad was really nice, there was a very generous amount of feta and ingredients in both salads were very fresh. I've ordered from some of the other more well known pizza joints in the Shorewood area, but think I've found my regular go to pizza place tonight.

We have ordered pizza from here quite a bit over the years. Generally good (not great). Tonight it wasn't. We ordered a large pizza, double cheese on the whole thing, pepperoni on half. Somehow, they forgot to put any cheese on half the pizza - just bread and sauce. Not very concerned when we called, either.

So after a long day, no make that a long week at work, I decided that I was going to pick up pizza for dinner. Despite living only about a mile from the best pizza in town and in the best part of town for pizza, I thought I'd try somewhere new. So I came to Yelp! and typed in "pizza." After seeing Upper Crust I remembered I wanted to give it a try again. To be honest I don't remember what I thought about Upper Crust the last time I had it. It's been years and since I no longer live on the East Side I don't make it over there much unless I'm hitting up a bar in Riverwest. More on the food later though. So I phoned in the order and the kid said "it'll be 35 minutes for that one." "That one" being the double decker. That didn't surprise me and since I'm only about 10 minutes away tops I just waited. Well when I got there it wasn't ready because "they're tough to gauge" as far as how long it takes to cook. "Yeah right" I thought as 35 minutes turned into 50 minutes. I was too tired to care though and the only thing that really worried me was that the "sticks" that I ordered (their crust/dough with garlic butter and mozzarella) would be cold. The place itself could use a face lift. It's definitely a carryout type place, but a bit of a face lift wouldn't hurt. Waiting and the appearance of the place had me worried. In fact considering the final total I felt like I was about to get swindled. So the other kid eventually brings it out and tells me it's straight out of the oven. I didn't doubt him as the box was warm. It was also heavy. So I got home gave the "sticks" a try. They were pretty good. I'm too picky for marinara dipping sauce, but these were still good. A bit bland, but good. Best part though was that they were warm and fresh. I don't know if they planned it out this way, but they must have pulled them out of the oven at the same time. My problem with them though is that they were $8 for an order. It's a sizable order, but still $8 seems a bit steep. Better than your national chain's version though. Yes, that means the pizza was fresh too. I was worried that when I opened the box it wouldn't look good. Well it looked a lot like the photo that somebody poster here on Yelp! from the paper. It really looked great. In fact I heard one of the kids say "that double decker looked good" when I left the place. Well the pizza lived up to it's looks and to the hype. What really struck me was how fresh the ingredients were. The crust, cheese, sauce and especially the sausage were all really fresh and the pizza was still warm 15 minutes after I picked it up. On top of that it was really good. The crust, cheese and sauce were all really good. The sausage was quite good as well, but it tasted... like it was cook separately and then put on the pizza. It probably was partially cooked and then added is my guess. Still it was really fresh as if it was from the butcher's same day. The crust and the dough were excellent as well. As for the double decker, it's definitely a "double layer" pizza. I could barely finish 1/3 of a small there is so much pizza there. That's not to say I wasn't very tempted to have more. I simply didn't have room. Shorewood doesn't have a lot by way of good pizza. If you live in the area though you can at least hit Upper Crust for a quality pie. In fact the pizza is probably one of the best in the city. Not only is it good, but it is it's own breed. And with the double decker is it's own breed as well. I'd recommend it. Don't mess with the appetizers and save room for the pizza.

Really good local pizza place, has the feel of the take out places back where I grew up, in a more heavily Italian area than Milwaukee. The pizza is very good; the subs are amazing! The East Coast Philly for $7 would probably feed a family of four and leaves you feeling guilty when you realize you ate the whole thing yourself. The Meatball sub is perfect for a cold night. They've got an extensive menu, appetizers, fries, salads, etc, and they deliver. You're not eating in - they have a couple of pieces of outdoor furniture lying around and that's it. They'll even deliver dessert from the Dairy Queen next door if you're feeling especially lazy. This place is a treasure for Whitefish Bay, Glendale, Shorewood, and Milwaukee residents looking for excellent pizza and amazing hoagies.
