You won't often find healthy food in a food court, especially one such as the Grand Avenue. However the Tomato Destination is superb. I've stopped here for lunch probably 50 times in the last year, and not once was I disappointed. Fresh, good food and a friendly staff. Enough said. Skip all the other options in the Grand Avenue food court, and try the Tomato Destination. There is a line for a reason!

Super awesome place. The ingredients are always fresh and flavorful. Every once in a while they run out of something, but I don't mind because 1) there's SO MUCH on their menu and 2) It means they make everything fresh and can't just pull out a bag of prechopped and frozen and preserved meat. Also, I think they have soup all summer long, which is great for the perpetually cold people, like me. The guy that is there all the time is so fricken friendly! I will be back here again and again and again.

Create your own salad or sandwich. A lot of selections for ingredients and salad dressings. Fat free house vinagrette was delicious! Very nice staff and great prices.

This is my go to place for lunch at Grand Ave! (Okay, its the ONLY place I go to at Grand Ave...) For lunch I usually make my own salad consisting of romaine, jalapenos, black beans, tomato, red pepper, onion, and corn with a chipotle dressing. Southwestern goodness y'all! All the veggies are freshly cut and the quality seems to be spot on. Not only is the food good, but the price is right. For 8 and some change I get a very large salad with a can of diet dr pepper and a bag of chips! As well, they have a punch card so every 11th meal is on them. They have a very smell crew of people, and everyone is friendly and willing to help you! For a quick, fresh, and tasty meal at Grand Ave, I head to Tomato destination!

One cannot deny that Tomato Destination is an anomaly in the foodscape that is Grand Ave Mall. Fresh vegetables and many combinations for salads, wraps, and panninis to keep you coming back. Bang for your buck, it can't be beat. Pains me to see so many in line at Subway when the real healthy option is just a few feet away. Highly recommend for lunch or take out if you are in the downtown area.

I love this place because Sam who works there always has a smile. The food at Tomato Destination allows me to eat healthy with delicious hummus wraps and tomato soup. It's the best choice in Grand Rapids Mall. Go see Sam and let him make you a salad or sandwich and Taste the Love! Thanks Sam! I will be back soon!

:) For lunch time food fare this place really did it for me. Delicious panini and fresh home made soup! I dont think there is anywhere else that $10 dolla will make me feel full, satisfied, happy, and give me lots of nutrition. Oh yeah guess what! loyalty program after 10 lunches you get 1 free talk about fabulous. My new favorite while on lunch at work spot. Oh yeah they dont skim on the goat cheese either if your into that sooo goooood.

Get the Caseys Choice. Hands down, AMAZING. The owner/manager is always on site and is super friendly too.

I'm laughing at all the five star reviews. Maybe it's because the other options in this area are lousy? No idea. But, it's awesome that a sandwich place in a food court located in a wacky almost empty mall has all these five-star reviews. Was in Milwaukee the other day and needed lunch and found this place. Everyone was friendly and, yes, this is probably one of the more healthier options in this particular food court and neighborhood. My chicken wrap was very soupy/full of dressing, so I question the healthy aspect of this particular sandwich. They do offer a hummus as the protein for your sandwich and that is probably the way to go. Or the salads. Would have loved a grilled tofu option.

YES. I had read good things about this place and I'm trying to eat healthy as of late (womp womp), so I moseyed on over to Grand Avenue to try out Tomato Destination. I ended up putting together a really random mixture of things I like (next time I'll know the drill a bit better and may be able to be more intentional with my ingredient picks) including mixed greens, carrots, black beans, onions, cucumbers, chickpeas, croutons, and crab. LOL, I know. But it was super tasty! The lovely gentleman who put my salad together suggested I go with an Asian dressing which was a very good choice. Bottom line: you pick your greens, then 5 toppings, one protein, and dressing. It came out to around $7!!! They also offer sandwiches and soups- actually quite a lot of variety. Plus, any place that can give me non-imitation crab and offers a filling lunch that doesn't make me feel like a whale deserves four stars in my book. There's lots to love here!!!

I had the spinach and goat cheese panini on wheat with a lemonade and it was delicious. Service was quick and polite.

Best grilled cheese panini. Ever. Ask for chipotle mayo. Super competent, fast, and friendly staff. Way uncommonly delicious food. Very pleasantly surprised (I don't normally expect mall food to be amazing)

Stop by this mall food court restaurant and you can build your own salad, enjoy some soup, a wrap or panini. Some days they offer a free lemonade with purchase.

Grand Avenue has sadly missed out on the downtown resurgence in the last several years. Store after store closes down, and the mall has become an eerie urban hulk. One of the only new businesses to open in the blighted mall has been this healthy salad and soup eatery. It is an oasis of fresh food in a desert of burgers and greasy Chinese-American fare. For a very reasonable price, you can name your greens and customize a great salad. Several of the soup options are made fresh daily. And the staff is quick to get you on your way so you can spend your lunch break eating, not waiting. If it's just the soups you're looking for, I'd be remiss if I didn't point out that there are some quainter locales nearby. When the weather is nice, by all means go try out The Soup House or Uncanny Soup Co. But when you need to meet at the sheltered hub at Grand Avenue, Tomato Destination can't be beat... it's pretty much the only game in town.
