Mexican Cuisine
If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.
Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.
Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.

There's not much to review about Qdoba. It's your typical "fast food" Mexican food place. On a positive note - this particular location is open late and are very quick.

I can't believe I ate the whole thing. I mean, this is a massive burrito. Maybe two pounds of rice and beans and grilled chicken and cheese and salsa and guacamole, all rolled into a tortilla and then served up. I mean, who eats this much for lunch? Apparently, I do. Qdoba is a chain restaurant with assembly line burritos (and nachos and quesadillas and more) in the style of Subway. You start at one end and follow your meal down the line selecting some of this or some of that or none of the other until it's all done and it's time to pay. Coke fountain products available. I like that they had the "light" lemonade because that makes it way better.

Qdobas is like any other chain restaurant, so you can't expect anything special. The food here is decent and the pricing is fair. Normally I would order a burrito whenever I'm looking for something cheap but will definitely fill me up. They pack that thing real good. So today I ordered a burrito with steak, black beans, queso sauce, a mixture of pico de gallo and roasted chile corn, lettuce, sour cream and cheese. The burrito was for sure filling. My only problems were that the steak seemed a bit dry, which really let me down. Cant have a good burrito, without some good meat. The place is never too busy, until the drunk people come out late at night. The workers there are friendly and have good service. Also there are enough booths and tables to accommodate everyone. Overall, this place is fair, and not a bad choice.

Here's my beef. This is my order: Naked Vegetarian Burrito. Its rice, beans, salsa, guac, and I add fajita veggies. The total? 7.50. The problem? That is too damn pricey when I am not getting meat, cheese, sour cream, OR A FREAKING TORTILLA! The fact that I am charged a dollar extra to add fajita veggies seems ridiculous to me as well as I am leaving out all the aforementioned ingredients. Why can't I substitute the veggies for them? If I was given a substantial amount of any of the ingredients I listed, I wouldn't have as big an issue, but the other night my portion was so small it barely covered the bowl it was in. I was left quite hungry and annoyed. Not only that, they are building on top of this Qdoba so quite frequently they are closed due to water main breaks or other issues that come with construction. Monday their bottled sodas were frozen solid because the pipes froze overnight! I realize this branch can't change the rules for the whole Qdoba organization, but I wish pricing was a little more fair.

The Water St addition of Qdoba Mexican Grill leaves much to be desired. Located in the street level retail space of the still to open Staybridge Suites on the corner of Water/Juneau next to Bar Louie this quick service Mexican chain has a great location. I have been to this Qdoba on three or four occasions since they opened and twice they were not able to accept credit cards. Technology glitches can and do happen but to lose your credit card link on two separate occasions while power is functioning on the block and Wilmington, DE is not a smoking crater is unfathomable. The menu is the same as other Qdoba locations and features the burrito bar, nachos, tacos, soup trios, and quesadillas. The nachos are below average and no matter what meat you pick you are faced with the normal Qdoba problem of the meat not being marinated/seasoned and relying on the sauce and salsa for any flavor. If you are looking to plan out a location for late night bar food on Water St. I'd recommend crossing the street and hitting Buffalo Wind Wings and if you are looking for quick service Mexican hit the Ogden Chipotle or one of the other Qdobas downtown.
