I went back with a friend. We started with an order of Money Bags and Spring Rolls. The guy who took my order heard "egg rolls" so those came out with the Money Bags. Most SE Asian restaurants will have Spring Rolls and Fresh Spring Rolls. The Spring Rolls are typically rolled with wonton wrappers (the menu says egg roll wrappers, I could be wrong I guess) and deep fried. The Fresh Spring Rolls are rolled with rice paper and not fried. Pattaya calls their fried spring rolls Egg Rolls. Just so you are aware and not surprised. Anyway, their Egg Rolls are good, not the best I've had but good. They aren't greasy and the minced pork has a good seasoning. The Money Bags are filled with the same ingredients as the Egg Rolls but I thought that they tasted more savory, maybe because the layer of the wonton wrapper at the bottom of the "bag" was a little thinner. The only downside, is that I wasn't smart enough to think of a way to eat the tops of the Money Bags. Now I'm thinking I could have added them to the Red Curry. Doh! The true stars of our dinner were the Pad Thai with shrimp and the Red Curry with chicken. The Pad Thai was just as good as the last time I had it and the shrimp was larger than I expected and generously applied. The shrimp is peeled before cooked but tails are on so pay attention to cut them off before you eat. The Red Curry had an incredibly rich and deep flavor and the veggies and chicken were ample. This was my favorite dish of the night. I'm looking forward to exploring more of the menu, but I really like this place!
