My fiancée loves this place, so we end up coming here once every couple weeks it seems. I guess I owe it a re-review considering how many times I've been in here. It is somewhat improved. They seem to have cleaned up their act a little bit. Months ago, everything seemed to just sit endlessly; I've noticed that they've become much better about refreshing the food and keeping things fresh. I used to avoid their egg foo young because they would look like they'd sat under a heat lamp all day--now they are actually quite edible. Their soups have also improved. They used to get a thin, disgusting film across the top from sitting stagnant; now they look much fresher. I've been on a hot and sour soup kick lately, and while the soup here isn't as good as you could get by ordering it from a regular Chinese restaurant, it resembles hot and sour soup well enough to satisfy the craving. The place has gotten a lot less busy, too. And the people who come in there now are a little less trashy. There's still the occasional kid screaming or running around the buffet area (which, I mean, asking for that to change would be to asking someone to move mountains) but the adults at least are better behaved. If you want my cynical, mean reason why this might be the case here it is: the trailer park next to the strip mall this is in has been boarded up. I'm aware another location of New China Buffet recently had a run-in with the health department and I have no illusions that things are done any differently here, but at least it *looks* cleaner than it used to. To summarize: the food has gotten a little better and I no longer feel like I'm going to run into Jim Bob or step on his kid every time I take a step. That's worth a star

Disgusting Don't get me wrong - I love New China Buffet. Just not the 27th Street location. I have been to this location in the past because I figured it was close to home and I already knew I liked the Hwy 100 location as well as the Bluemound Rd location. I however, got sick after my first visit the the 27th Street location. While I was there, I found pieces of chicken that had a green tint to them. When I showed the owner, he said that's how the chicken is supposed to be... NO. Now its been years since this incident and in reading the reviews on here that say it is improved, I decided to try it again last Saturday (5/9/15). I should have walked right back out the door and headed to the Hwy 100 location. The entire place looks like it hasn't been cleaned since before my first visit about 5 years ago! The people that were there eating were still just as trashy. The food was horrible. Many of the things that I tried were overly crispy from being out too long. Everything tasted off. So once again I left feeling sick and unsatisfied. I don't see this location ever being an option for me again.

They won't let you take pictures!!!! The first time I came here I was not impressed, it was the weekend, super packed and the place just felt like you were fighting for your food. Not to mention the lady at the cash register seemed so rude, maybe it was that resting bitch face syndrome cause she was having a long day? I don't know but she just put me off. The decor is definitely old and seems like they need to maintain it better or redo it then maintain. BUT we went again on a Tuesday around 7pm and I don't know but I almost felt like I was in a different place, except for the annoying toddler who wouldn't stop yelling, the food was good. Loved the squid, salty shrimp and crayfish. Will have to try again to see if they can maintain the taste.

Yes, it's food. Yes, it's a lot of food. Yes, it's a great value. No, it's not extraordinary. No, I didn't get sick. No, I don't feel good about myself after eating there. The first two stars are for the food, the third is for the selection. I've yet to meet a Chinese buffet in Milwaukee worth any more than three stars, including this one. I feel the purpose of a Chinese buffet is to "strap on the feed bag" and prepare for a competitive eating event contest. I will give them credit for one of the largest lunch buffet selections in Milwaukee. Most of it is very edible although I question how much of it is prepared fresh or began the day sealed in a freezer bag. This location has recently expanded and its always packed at lunch. The advantage of that is that the warmers are constantly being replenished. You might want to stay away from the fish and other various seafood-type items. I don't see people going for them very often. Please note the display of foreign currency at the cash register. It contains the largest Chinese note in circulation, worth about $20 USD as well as many other interesting Asian currencies.

Good selection of food. Poor selection of fruits. Food was ok, didn't strike me as something I'd come back to Milwaukee for. Very busy on a Sunday afternoon. Would not come back even if this was a last resort.

Yes, to lots of food, lots of cramped spaces, lots of old greasy over *** foods! No, I did not get sick, did not feel good, for being proud to go there. Ok, now as a person being in a food industry I can tell what is quality, this place doesn't go over 3 stars. The 'hibachi' not fresh. The meat, thawed, is placed out in the open....probably over ice, I never went near the stuff. At one look i can tell in my mind ' wow thats a lot of food contamination'. Sushi, not ok and not bad, rice is hard. There is a lot of deep fried foods, (I can't believe it: chicken nuggets! At a Chinese buffet?!) there's a lot of selections. Not that good in quality, thats why the location speaks for itself. Everything (EVERYTHING) is piled high, just thrown on there and let us pick it off. There's probably about 3 out of....everything there that I actually liked and enjoyed. Otherwise, my first time there...$12 per person - price moderate, food quality - cheap. I don't feel proud having eaten there, I was recommended to go there by a friend who are repeats....well we have complete opposite lifestyles so yea. No I do not recommend. Price not worth quality. BTW: This is not Chinese, its "Asian American Fusion".

I have no problem with buffets, in general, but I expect that the food be somewhat enjoyable. It's expensive and there wasn't one dish that I enjoyed. Greasy and old are 2 words that come to mind when I recall my dinner experience. This is not Chinese food.

Their food variety is huge, this includes Orchata (mexican rice and milk drink, actually, they have it in Spain too). The sushi is not very good, but hey, it is a buffet. They also have pretty tasty things, good soups, a big salad bar, and something new, create your own Habachi grill dinner, they have a Mexican guy doing it haha. I wont talk much about the food because it is a buffet, and a pretty good one. The atmosphere is mmm, how can I put it with some tact, an extremely casual one, you know, one that you can find in buffets, but we go there to eat cheap, good, and a lot. For this restaurant, I will use one of my personal, philosophical quotes, 'certain things, for certain things'.

make note no camera's allowed after a few visit from your local news, with too much time on their hands ...if you take the time to read reports before you go our you wouldn't eat out again ....on to the food its not bad never got sick not far from the house ect... but instead of eating a ton of not so good food ...just pic one of the other two places on the same block and get what you like

Chinese Cuisine

The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.

Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.

There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.
