Bro. I was like no way this is going to be good. If you're like me you're highly skeptical, and I certainly was after having tried another restaurant of a similar concept with similar fare. This food was HIGHLY ACCEPTABLE! And yeah, I mean that in the best way possible. My expectations were low. The other reviews made me feel I was in for a gamble. Sometime I think high star reviews are just the owners friends or employees being like "hey help me out man, go write a yelp review". So seriously the food was acceptable or better. I ordered the lasagna, ribs, jalopeno poppers, and a side salad for delivery. Lasagna, good, cheese was good, wasnt sloppy or greasy at all.. Jalopeno poppers great, nailed it. Ribs good (not tough at all, maybe needs a little more sauce). Side Salad ok half crisp half a little floppy. Even the garlic bread was pretty good. French fries, totally edible, not soggy. Did it blow my mind? Well yeah, sort of. Not because the food was incredible, its because it wasn't terrible by far! Seriously that's all I ask for, just be like edible, and it was. I ate everything, and I was never like "dammit I'm going to have to throw this away". I never thought "man this tastes somewhat similar to a cigarette". Nope, I was like wow this tastes like food. Price was reasonable, food was reasonable, I gave it a 4 but honestly I'd even give it like a 4.375 at least. Now lets be real, maybe I got lucky. Things could vary from day to day. I ordered on a Sunday at about 8:00... not usually when I'd expect the A-Team to be aboard, but as far as delivery goes, I could've been cooked and hand delivered by Mr. T himself. So who knows, but it was good today. Good Job Mario. Overall 4.375/5.000 would gamble again.

Mario's ain't so bad. It's not fancy, but the pasta is relatively decent and the prices aren't too bad. They're good for some no frills Italian food late at night. I've had the spaghetti, the chicken cacciatore, the chicken and ribs, and they've all been good meals. My girlfriend is a big fan of their Alfredo. Their portion sizes are huge, so it's easy to eat for two days on an order of pasta. I've never managed to try their pizza, but I hope to give it a shot someday. The only reservation I have is the flavor of their meatballs. I'm sure they have their merits, but they had a weird flavor that neither I or my girlfriend could place our fingers on. I wasn't a big fan, but with their menu the meatballs are easy enough to avoid. The fried appetizers could be better (they're likely the frozen stuff from Cisco or some other supply company), but I've also had a lot worse. I've only ever done delivery from Mario's. They have a pretty large delivery area and they're always on time. It's not the place I would use to introduce Milwaukee to an out-of-town visitor that I wanted to impress, but for reasonably priced eats on the south side Mario's does pretty good.

Pleasant surprise Despite the not so great reviews on here I decided to try Marios. The delivery was prompt. The service was friendly. The food....was great! I am not sure why people were down on this place. Is it a 5 star Italian restaurant? No, but you are not ordering delivery from a 5 star Italian restaurant. We tried the spaghetti and meatballs, a cheeseburger, and the Italian beef sandwich. All had great flavor and were very good. If I were to give one negative it would be the noodles could have been more al dente. Other than that slight knock it was very good. Try it, you will like it.

I don't know what people are complaining about! I had a pretty good experience. We ordered the managers special pizza off grubhub and got a free order of garlic bread. The pizza was a 12" and the garlic bread was like 12" of French bread toasted on each side, for two big pieces. The pizza was delicious and I'm a pizza snob. The sauce seemed homemade; robust with a slight sweetness to it and tomatoes in it. The toppings consisted of sausage, onions, and mushrooms. The veggies were fresh and the sausage was good and flavorful. The cheese is real cheese and a lot of it. The thin crust was good and clearly hand made. The food came in less than 45 minutes on a Saturday night and was hot. Our whole order, including tip, tax, and delivery fee was less than $19. I'll order from them again for sure.

Some people have started out their reviews questioning why this place has such a low star rating. They seemed shocked that Mario's Italian Grill can actually be disliked. I read all the reviews and gave this place the benefit of the doubt, I suspect that the positive reviews have either been purchased, or this place is like that shitty relationship we've all had where opposite the way things should be, it occasionally has a rare good day. Why do I say this? Easy, the pizza is terrible. I live in Bay View and am surrounded by pizza places that have consistently good ratings, because their food is delicious, the problem is that in the case of Tenuta's, they don't deliver, or with Classic Slice, they're prices are higher than their employees (Actually now it's pretty much all the pizza places in Bay View charge you higher than need be prices for mediocre pizza now, and that kinda sucks, but at least they taste shades better than Mario's Italian Grill). Opening the box and looking at the pizza was misleading, it actually looked like it would be good, but it wasn't and here's why. The cheese is some low grade tasteless concoction presented thickly as if they threw a block of cheese on a lightly sauced overly doughy crust, and cooked it until the cheese was a thickly melted mess, that they then spread over the the pie, pushing all the sauce to the ends of the pieces, giving it an illusion that you would have toppings, cheese, sauce, and dough, in every slice. This is not the case, because they the put a few toppings on the cheese. and didn't check to see if the dough was actually done. You get a mushy slice of pizza with tastless thick cheese, NO sauce, and undercooked crust, with a few scattered toppings that might be there more for looks than anything. So from now on I'm going to call this place Mario's Shitalian Grill. Skip this place, you'll get a tastier pizza from Domino's.

Ordered a pizza last night. The chefs special with the addition of black and green olives. I also ordered tiramisu. Dessert was on top of hot pizza and started to melt. I received a pizza with black olives and green peppers omly. I called and they made correct pizza but crust was soggy since not cooked all the way. Pizza was not anything out of the ordinary.

Generic and bland. For the price you would not expect to receive pizza that tasted like it was frozen. We also ordered the appetizer sampler and EVERYTHING in it was frozen and fried. Nothing was fresh. One time is enough. I will not be going back here again.

Terrible, terrible, terrible. I'm staring at that pile of cold MUSH on my plate right now and regretting having given this new place a chance. It's a SOGGY MESS of SLOP. Totally INEDIBLE. Garlic bread is an OILY bun, not toasted, just DARK BROWN like the underside of the SOGGY MESS of SLOP. Do not think you're getting CRUST .. that would IMPLY a bit of crisp or crunch. Do not kid yourself and think you can cut it .. the slop slides right off. This is nothing but burned, wet WONDER BREAD with GREASY SLOP on top.

Why this place has only 3 stars is beyond me. The service is always great. Delivery is always super fast -- I'm talking 30 minutes here, and the pizza is amazing. I've never had a bad experience with Marios. The chef's special is the perfect pizza. A medium hand-tossed crust, a generous amount of of cheese, mushrooms, sausage, onions; the perfect amount of sweet and tangy sauce. There is nothing like it! Their gnocchi is excellent. I've had the gnocchi gambari and gnocchi porcini is perfect when you want something delectable with perfectly balanced white sauce. Their burgers are huge and are priced reasonably. I prefer the Texan Burger, which is a mushroom swiss. It always tastes like it's made fresh, even when I get it delivered. Delivered burgers? Who knew? The chicken Quesadilla is a feast! It's one of the best items on the menu. For $7. Make sure to ask for salsa and sour cream. Sometimes they forget.. But even without, it's still amazing. Oh, and don't skip dessert. Tiramisu, brownie bites, carrot cake.. You'll be missing out. With that said, when they first opened, their wings were gigantic and had a pretty amazing breading. But they've changed things and I can't trust what I'm getting anymore so I've stopped ordering their wings. I think it's all my fault, because I kept asking for hot wings and I feel like they were changing their recipe to suit me. I just want the old wings back! I have ordered from Marios almost exclusively since Marco's essentially told me to get lost after I complained about a 1.5 hour wait, cold pizza and being overcharged for literally 2 years straight (eff Marco's by the way).

Decent. Very secluded but the pizza was exactly what i would expext from a authentic Italian eatery! I had their cheese pizza & a soda for $3. The sauce was sweet and you could see the real tomatoes in it. The cheese was thick & flavorful. The crust, pan style with fun crust bubbles .. I will definitely go back! i am really wondering what their Italian Beef tastes like. A full menu to chose from im sure ill find something to my liking.

Definitely a fan of this place. I really don't understand the 1 star reviews, this place is not a Bartolotta restaurant but the pizza is decent, the prices are good, and everything arrives fast and hot. The pie has a softer crust, but that's a good thing if that's what you're into.

Pizza is always great, just picked one up but the "free" custard is way past its use by date!!!

Just got my delivery order from here. I ordered online. I gave specific instructions where I was located and gave a phone number to call when the delivery person arrived so I could meet them outside. I never received a call from the delivery person so I called the restaurant. The girl on the phone was very polite and apologized (That's the reason for the extra star). My food ended up coming about 30 minutes late, cold, soggy, and they got the order wrong. I had high hopes for this place...maybe I will try it again some other time, just not delivery, because the delivery man was RUDE. Maybe if he read my instructions, he wouldn't have been wandering aimlessly down the street. Oh yeah, I also had to waive him down and meet him down the street. Not okay.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
