Pizza
Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country. While the base and the texture of Pizza remains same across the globe, it's the toppings that differs from country to country. In the United States, you will find the top pizzerias serving pizzas with the toppings of mainly beef, bacon, chicken, ham, and sausage for the non-vegetarians. Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.
Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Pizza is hot favorite among people of all ages in the United States. A large size pizza is enough to feed a family of 3 or 4 at large. Pizza is also the most preferred food whenever a group of friends is hanging out together. Pizza gained popularity in the United States after the American soldiers stationed in Italy returned from World War II.
Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations. Pizza gained popularity as the iconic dish in the United States in the second half of the 20th century. Whether you prefer thin or thick crust pizza, you can find a pizza of your preference at the best pizza restaurants in your city.
Italian Cuisine
The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.
Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.
If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.

The food was good, garlic bread even better! The atmosphere was a lil somber. The server was attentive and very friendly. Probably won't make it back for dinner, possibly lunch.

God damn, I love this place. I actually am bitter at TMJ4 for giving them dirty dining, because I don't friggin' care. Water would be raining from the ceiling, and I would still eat here. When somebody says "wanna go to Mama Mia's?" I first, always ask if they mean the good brother's restaurant, not that crap in Waukesha, then, I say "absolutely, I do." Because you don't say no to Mama Mia's. In fact, it was the first place I wanted to eat every time I came home on leave from the military. They are so nice there, too. The garlic bread is buttery heaven. And it is just such a nice atmosphere. I would mourn for a year if this place ever went out of business.

Had take out the service was nice Stevie was so helpful. I wasn't feeling too adventurous and I was just coming in from a long drive so I have the spaghetti and meatballs which is my favorite now. I know you shouldn't go out and order what you can cook at home so easily but why when it's cooked better than home and I don't ave to worry about clean up. I wish I could eat and sleep at the same time because they were both fighting for me. Yummy food can't complain. Last time it had a margarita pizza but I asked for ham on top and I devoured that too. Never had a bad plate from here. Looking forward to trying more dishes

Nice people! Love to go on Mondays, quite and a good deal on the lasagna.

This place is disgusting. The garlic bread sets the tone for the rest of the experience; salty and greasy. The "famous" lasagna can only be famous for one thing...taking five years off the life of whomever is eating it. It was a greasy, salty, bland mess! My son ordered the kids grilled cheese which was just some mozzarella cheese in between more of their disgusting garlic bread, dipped in more grease just for good measure. He wouldn't even touch it. My wife order the alfredo sauce; no surprise here by the cream was separating from the grease and looked totally unappetizing. She left feeling physically ill. Please if for no other than you value your life avoid this place at all cost. On a more cheerful note the spumoni was great; I bet they don't make it in house because this is the one thing that wasn't floating in grease or dipped in salt.

Mama Mia's has been around forever, and is a favorite with many locals. A relatively inexpensive lunch buffet typically offers a variety of pizzas, garlic bread, salad, pasta and sauces, chicken or fish, soup, and yummy lasagna. The specifics vary daily, but generally they've got something you'll like. Currently around $9, I believe. You can also order off the menu, and they usually have a special or two for lunch, but we always do the buffet. Dinners are excellent. They offer a great pizza known as the "EBA" (Everything But Anchovies), which is a very nicely done supreme pizza. Entrees generally include garlic bread, and are usually around $10. Some evenings they offer fish frys or AYCE pasta. Overall, an excellent way to eat well inexpensively. The primary problem is parking; the lot is only accessible via a city alley. Street parking on Greenfield is not recommended, and parking on the side streets may be the best option. The restaurant itself also has a relatively small seating capacity, so expect that you might be waiting for a table during peak times. These are minor problems compared to the food.

We came here on a whim with a craving for Italian food, mostly because I was too broke and underdressed for Sala Da Pranzo, plus it was closer. I had come here years back for the lunchtime buffet, which was alright. Expecting nothing more than a quick cheap meal, we arrived to find it was extremely busy. Not surprising for dinner hours. That being said, it didn't take long to be seated which was nice. I ordered the chicken parmesan, expecting a crudely thrown together recipe. I was shocked at when it arrived. It looked amazingly delicious. It tasted even better. What a pleasant surprise, and a new discovery. I would gladly visit here again during dinner hours. The only cons were the incredibly small and loud dining room, selection of drinks (Pepsi products), and the inadequite wine list and wine prices. Aside from that this is a very fine establishment for a casual meal with friends, family or your significant other. PS It should be noted that the garlic bread was insanely good, but definately not good for you, what with all the soaked-in grease butter and olive oil.

I love my lasagna just like I love every other food - with tons and tons of cheese! Mama Mia's must know this because every time I order their lasagna, there's a thick layer right on top. The garlic bread is ridiculous and could be considered a food group all its own - a greasy food group but delicious all the same. What I love even more about Mama Mia's is the fact that they have daily specials - DAILY. Not many restaurants can boast that around Milwaukee. Also, dining here at lunch is an incredible deal. You not only get a soup or salad with your meal, but you get a soup AND a salad with your meal. The booths are nice if you can snag one. I have been here only a few times when it was wall-to-wall people, but it's manageable and not inconvenient. The wait time is understandable - just get there earlier or use their take-out option! If you do, you will see buckets of their sauce on the stove; someone is always preparing it. The service here is pretty decent. I can't say that I have ever had a negative experience with it. Oooh, also to note: Low-light dining for those who prefer that type of ambiance.
(5)Barb W.
Oooooh, I LOVE their lasagna!!! It is so good! I have never found a restaurant that serves any better! It has LOTS of cheese in it, and the flavor is just YUMMY!!!!! YOU HAVE TO TRY IT!!! They also serve delicious garlic bread with it, too!
(5)Mike M.
I had the Patty Melt and I was pleasantly surprised how good it was. Actually one of the better ones I have had.
(3)Miki C.
The food is very good. The kids devoured the pizza. Husband enjoyed the ravioli. I was skeptical of the Eggplant Parmigian, it looked so different but was very good! The garlic bread was also w9nderdul. I enjoy real butter. The service... HORRIBLE! We sat forever with nothing but drinks then finally they finished butchering the lettuce out back and served our salads. BTW what Italian restaurant doesn't serve Italian dressing?? Anyway, our salads were half eaten and out comes the food. Really?! So 5 star food, negative 2 stars poor service!

After all these years I finally stopped in yesterday afternoon . Spaghetti & meatballs were very good , garlic bread tasty also . Staff was excellent . I'll be back . Driving west bound I thought there was an entrance into the lot , wrong you have to enter thru the alley on 85th . Someone almost made the same mistake I did minutes later .
(5)Carla R.
The only awesome thing is the garlic bread once every so often! Everything is so greasy, but delicious. The lasagna is pretty good too. If you're a person who looks at everything they eat and wants it to be healthy.. Definitely don't go here.
(3)Steve W.
come for the garlic bread, stay for the garlic bread. (even better, order take-out, then you won't have to be crammed into a booth or wait across the street at the bowling alley for your table to be ready)

When I dream about pizza, I dream about Mama Mia's pizza. I didn't know before I moved to Wisconsin that pizza and garlic bread could taste like this. But of course, all that wonderful Wisconsin butter dripping off of the garlic bread . . .definitely not for the "faint of heart" but for me worthy of every butter loving calorie! The pizza is thin crust- my favorite as the toppings are where the taste is and thin crust allows those flavors to shine through. The interior of this and all the Mama Mia locations in Milwaukee are a throwback to another era- but that's the beauty of it. I love sliding into the red Naugahyde booths eagerly anticipating that first warm salty bite of the bread before the pizza comes. I moved from Milwaukee a long time ago. But since Chicago is only an hour and a half away and I still own property up in Milwaukee, you can bet that when I'm in town, Mama Mia's is on my list as I take the trip down pizza "memory lane".
(4)Amy R.
One of my favorite places when I lived in Milwaukee. I remember receiving 3 welcome to the neighborhood complimentary pizza coupons in the mail. Not sure that they do that anymore, but was really appreciative upon receiving them. Their pizza was pretty good. Their garlic bread is absolutely the best I've ever. Unfortunately for the waste line it's a little too good. Miss this place..
(4)Myra P.
Be extra hungry if you get the lasagna, and be prepared for lots of cheese. Great garlic bread.
(3)Alison Y.
Mama Mia's has the best garlic bread I have ever had in my entire life. I've eaten the pizza which is excellent, and the lasagna. The lasagna was WAY too much for one person, and was good, but a little overcooked for my taste. I like to be able to taste the different layers, but I know most people probably prefer everything to be all melty together. It is worth the drive from anywhere to get this garlic bread. Seriously.
(5)Keri D.
I definitely feel like the food has gone down hill here over the years. Too bad, I've got great memories of delicious food that isn't made anymore.

Let me start off by saying that my family and I have been going to this restaurant for 7 years. I live in Chicago and my family lives in Appleton. We meet in Milwaukee a few times a year to hang out and this is the meeting place for dinner every time. I was just there yesterday, (after not being here for a while) and I was highly disappointed. First off they open at 4 and didn't open their doors until after, even though there were about 10 of us waiting. (three different parties). That would have never been a big deal but the dining made me annoyed with the wait to begin with. My sister ordered minestrone soup and it looked like Chili. She had it sent back because she thought that they had made a mistake. The waitress (who was very nice) came back and said that the minestrone was thicker today. Now I am not a chef, but i do know that minestrone soup is supposed to be a broth, not a paste. Secondly, salads ALWAYS came with the meals and today we had to pay $2.50 per salad per meal. The price of the meals were always ok with us because we got a salad with it. The manicotti is supposed to be made with ricotta cheese, and my mom ALWAYS gets it. The cheese was creamy and not thick at all. Not only was the manicotti made differently with cheese that was not ricotta, but they raised the price of it almost $4. My nephew orders a grilled cheese sandwich off of the kids menu and they bring a HUGE sandwich made with their garlic bread. For an adult it looked delicious, but to be on a kids menu? My daughter is 2 and I frequently get her grilled cheese, if I had received this for her I would have sent it back instantly. What kind of KIDS menu item is too big for a child and doesn't even make sense for a child to eat? All in all I paid $100 for a meal that used to cost us 60-70 with drinks and the food was by far less quality than when it was cheaper. Needless to say our long time run (7 years) will be ending after this experience. Save your money and go somewhere else. Highly disappointed and saddened that our favorite Italian restaurant will be a memory of the past.

It's ok, i guess. I mean - i felt nearly 30 pounds heavier upon leaving. I had the eggplant Parmesan and it was overly breaded with greasy crumbs and drowning in marinara. It tasted fine, but all in all was just kinda sickening. I don't get all the raving over the garlic bread... um... I'm afraid to say it, but it kinda grossed me out.
(2)Andy K.
I haven't had an actual meal here in a long time, but I'm all for their garlic bread to-go. I made spaghetti the other night and rounded it out with a piece of this buttery delish bread. It can't be beat. Get a couple extra pieces and throw them in the freezer. I'm also a sucker for the lasagna. If you eat-in, be ready to wait a little longer for your dish. You can also get lasagna par-baked and ready to finish at home or ready to throw in the freezer as well for a warm-it-up meal!
(4)Tracy L.
Ordered take out tonight from this place and was VERY disappointed. Not only was the food dripping with grease it was extremely salty, and soggy. The only flavor was of a garlicky oil that seemed to take over the food. Ive never returned food in my life but tonight- we returned the food. Yes it was that bad! Mama Mia's agreed to refund our money if we brought back the food back. Save your money and but a frozen pizza- trust me it will be much better than this place!

I don't know where to start or even should give one star. Limited parking space, old facility, slow and terrible service, salty food, overly greasy bread. We got our drinks 2 hrs late. We were seated at 6pm and got over drinks at 750pm. Food was brought out 9ish. We stayed because we had a function but if it would be just me and the hubby, I would have left after I had no drinks after 30 min. Oh did I mentioned bathrooms? Very small. If u are a little bit bigger u won't like this small bathroom entrance as well as the tiny stalls. Then she mad a total check for 15 ppl. So we had to get cash money so everyone could pay his or her part. Aweful! First time there and I will never go there again!
(1)Eric S.
One word...disappointed. I love mama Mia's food but over the years the service slipped big time. It was a Friday night and as we walked in the only only one to greet us was another customer. It was about five minuets before the hostess greeted us. When we were seated we it took forever for the serve to do anything and the waitress must have been very distracted, I even waived at her a couple of time and she still just stood there. I do not know If we'll be back
(1)Michelle S.
There was a certain 70's like charm to the decor..but the service was not so charming. Slow is an understatement. We were there on a Tuesday night...not busy..no reason for it. I had soggy "Sicilian" pizza....it was overloaded with oregano and the cheese was too heavy for the crust. My husband had lasagna. It was 80% drowned in mozzarella with what looked like a Lean Cuisine portion size hunk of pasta underneath. Horrible. Would not return.
(2)Abigail G.
When I was a kid my family always used to go here and then we stopped and I couldn't remember why.... I ended up having a craving for their garlic bread one night so my Mom and I went and ordered the lasagna and bread. It really was delicious - very cheesy lasagna that was a huge portion for the price, and the garlic bread was the best I've ever had here in West Allis. But it was so greasy... I actually felt a little disgusted after I ate it because I had no clue how many calories I ate and how much fat/carbs. This isn't a weekly, or even monthly place to go. Maybe once or twice a year, after a long run on the treadmill. The service is okay, but the workers always seem a little gross/grungy and I kind of worry about what they're doing behind closed doors while they're cooking my food.
(3)Lori R.
Forever favorite. Best garlic bread I've ever had, and i would know, I eat around. Lasagna is fantastic, as is the pizza.
(4)Garrett R.
Not really sure where the rave reviews are coming from for this place... Stopped by for the lunch buffet. Couldn't get out of there fast enough. Pizza was average at best, sadly. I was really in the mood for some excellent pie and was sorely disappointed. It is possible that they don't serve their best at the lunch buffet (highly likely) but damn... I think I've had better pizzas out of the frozen section at the grocery store. There are better options for pizza in the Milwaukee area. Garlic bread was incredible. It is the saving grace of this establishment.
(3)Erin B.
Let's clear up a few things, Mama Mia: 1) garlic bread is not the same thing as garlic SALT bread. There's a difference. And the difference is one is garlic and the other is garlic salt. Pretty obvious to me, but apparently no one told you. You're welcome. (Side note: People of Stallis -- do you have hypertension? I think I've discovered the reason why.) 2) The service is not good. It's not even mediocre. It is not even adequate. I offer the following points to illustrate my position: A) Water was neither offered nor served at any point during our 1+ hour visit. This is a problem when the main ingredient in every dish is sodium. B) The server took forever to come over and when he did, never once bothered to tell us his name and just said, "Are you about ready to order now?" C) We ordered a Blue Moon and I would have been mortified serving a beer with an orange that was so dehydrated and gross it looked like it was an orange mummy, but no employee seemed to notice or care. D) I watched the hostess brush/play with her hair in front of the dining room mirrors at least twice while clearing tables. Fucking gross. She was also texting and putting her head down at the hostess stand. Because jobs are, like, soooo boring, ya know!! E) 100% of our order was incorrect. I ordered a half portion of pasta with a meatless sauce. T ordered a full portion of pasta with meat sauce. Our server didn't write anything down (pet peeve - only douchebags do this and they NEVER get it right) but repeated our order back to us. After an astronomical wait, I received a dish covered in soggy red meat and T got a half portion. Because apparently 2 people ordering 2 different things is really hard! F) Upon bringing me a new, death-free pasta dish, the server said (I swear to Jeebus), "take your time!" Ummm...yeah. Thanks for the permission to eat my meal at my leisure? I don't even know...no apology? Luckily I had T (who will basically eat anything as long as it doesn't still have a pulse) try my dish because I suspected it was the wrong sauce but if I hadn't done that, there would have been some serious serious serious problems. Mainly me going ballistic right in the middle of that place. Rant: When people order food without meat there is usually a reason. And that goddam reason is they don't eat meat. You know how pissed someone would be if he or she took a huge bite of something they expected to be vegetarian friendly and got a mouthful of dead cow? Like insanely pissed. I do not judge other people's choices and I do not push my food beliefs on anyone else. I prefer to not even discuss it, truth be told, but I find that of all the possible restaurant mistakes, this is the biggest one because it shows a complete lack of understanding and therefore, a total disregard for me as a customer. It's hard for a lot of people to understand (what's the big deal - it's just a little beef?!) I get that, but it's really important to me and as a business, you should respect that and if you can't - simply tell me that I am unable to be accommodated and I will go somewhere else, no hard feelings. I have never had that happen to me ever before and I am still kind of peeved at the whole situation. This. Should. Never. Happen. 3) I had ravioli. The ravioli was the pre-made frozen kind. I would bet a paycheck that there is nothing (except maybe the pizza) that is actually made from scratch there. The sauce is the food vendor version of Ragu. It is not homemade and there is no one who can convince me otherwise. Sad. Homemade Italian food is so amazing, but Mama Mia's is like Italian food's dimwit cousin who grew up in a trailer park too close to a power plant. 4) If the cleanliness of a bathroom is any indication of the cleanliness of the kitchen, I will probably be dead in about 24 - 36 hours. 5) It didn't look like there was a single employee working over the age of 20 and it is painfully obvious that the staff operates with minimal experience and very little oversight. Who's in charge? And why do they have no standards for customer service and what is coming out of the kitchen? If I owned this restaurant, I would die of shame if my staff was representing my business how these people were. 6) While waiting for-fucking-ever for our server to come greet us, I briefly glanced through the "Our Story" page on the menu. At about the second paragraph, while describing how the original owners came to open Mama Mia's, there is a lovely part about how someone "borrowed them $10,000." And that's all you need to know about the kind of place this is. As T asks, "how shitty are the restaurants around here that this is considered a good place to eat?" The people in this neighborhood deserve better, and thankfully, there are much more tasty options a short drive away. I will probably never eat here again. I've always been a moderate fan of their takeout pizza but it would be a long, long time before I would ever give them a another shot.
(2)Lauren M.
Reviewing an Italian restaurant is just about as subjective as it can get. Do you like meat sauce or do you like alfredo? Do you like thin or thick crust pizza? And of course no one makes it as good as Grandma, so why even bother? Well I did bother to try (alongside my husband's Italian grandmother no less) and felt satisfied when I left. The wait was a little long (took about an hour to seat seven people), but our server was polite and prompt. We ordered pizza, which is of the thin crust variety here. Now, I love a good thin crust pizza but this was a little on flimsy side and there wasn't much flavor. The garlic bread saved the day - buttery and garlicy on a soft, soft Italian loaf. I'd come back for the garlic bread any day but could take or leave the rest of it..
(3)Jennifer C.
My uncle loves the garlic bread here so when ever him and I are in town we go. The garlic bread is like nothing I've ever had before. It is good. The pizza is thin crust and very good. My mom had the lasagna so I had a bite of that as well, very good. Close to where my parents live so I will definitely be back.

My wife and I live in Madison and we make it a point to stop in anytime we're in Milwaukee (approximately once every three months) for their amazing garlic bread and delicious pizza. This past Sunday, my wife, myself, and one other couple came in around 6:45 and were sat immediately by a friendly hostess. However, the hospitality and quality of our dinner ended shortly after being sat. It took almost 12 minutes for our server--Christina--to even acknowledge us and when she eventually did, she rudely took our order and then continued to roll her eyes after we asked if we could have the garlic bread on the crispier side or cooked slightly longer than the usual. She came back and served us the bottle of wine we ordered, but stuck her whole ring FINGER INSIDE THE BOTTLE stating, "Oh, there's a big piece of cork in there I gotta get out." After she dug the cork out of the bottle with her finger, she continued to pour the bottle into one glass until I expressed my disgust and asked for a new bottle and that I would pour the wine for the table myself. Our garlic breads came out almost immediately, but they were COLD and SOFT; not crispy as we requested when she took our order. As I tried getting her attention, I noticed she was too busy on her cell phone to acknowledge our needs and her other customers' needs to the point that I had to get up from the table and approach her at the hostess's area. A few minutes later, she served us new garlic breads and they were PERFECT and crispy as requested--much better than the previous garlic breads!! After asking Christina why our pizzas were taking almost a half-hour and why the table next to us was served before we were (even though their order was taken later than ours), she rolled her eyes again and said she had no answer or explanation. One minute later, she served us our pizzas. After taking my first bite, I immediately was disappointed because both pizzas were luke-warm at most. My wife could not get our server's attention and had to approach her at the hostess area again while she was too busy on her cell phone. The pizzas were heated up and served to us five minutes later HOT, as they should have been the first time they were served. Once the wine was replaced, the bread was re-made and the pizzas were re-heated and hot, the food was great and delicious as always! Never have we ever had such terrible service at Mama Mia's in all the years of coming in, and I can't recall in a long time having as bad of service at any restaurant as we did on Sunday! If you want good food and great service, I'd suggest you to be prepared and ask for someone else to serve you.
(2)Mark H.
Absolutely the worst pizza ever. Too much seasoning in the sauce, gave it a bitter aftertaste. Had the mozzarella sticks for the side - yuck, same over seasoning, way too much italian seasoning. I would buy frozen pizza over this place anytime.
(1)Julie M.
I could eat here every day... but then I'd be 500 pounds... LOVE their food! If you live in the area, its the perfect place for take-out or a meal out. If you work in the area, GO TO THEIR LUNCH BUFFET! It's a STEAL! :)
(5)Gina B.
Tonight was the first time I have been to Mama Mia's in many many years. I remember I must have not been impressed that I never was back but decided to give it another try. I read the reviews before going to be sure everyone still thought it was really good. As I read in one of the reviews, the hostess will make you stand there for about 5 minutes before acknowledging you and when she does speak to you, she doesn't look at you because the is "too busy". That was not a great first impression, strike one. The dining room was packed to capacity. There were large groups and couples out for a Saturday evening dinner. We were directed to a booth that we practically had to crawl over the seats to get into since the tables next to it were so close, you could barely get through. Every time the waitress would walk by, her apron would drag across our table and I was constantly dodging getting hit in the face with her tray or her bottom. Strike Two. Putting that aside we went on to order our food. I had heard the garlic bread was "to die for", well, I think not. They are big pieces of bread with only the top layer covered with a thin coat of butter and not at all very garlic flavored, I was disappointed since I guess I can even make better garlic bread and it doesn't cost me $2.50 for one piece. My husband who used to rave about it said it is no where near what it used to be. He ordered pizza, which he thought was superb, I ordered a Chicken Parmesan sandwich, nothing comes with it and for $7.95, I thought that was pretty expensive. When it came, I could see it was huge and probably worth the price, so I understood.... until I tasted it. Strike Three. The coating / breading on the sandwich was burnt and the who flavor was ruined with burnt breading. At this point I gave up, I was done. I will one day give it another try to try their Lasagna, maybe..... but it will be a long time before that happens to try to forget this experience.

The lunch buffet is my favorite anywhere. They have fantastic pizza, terrific lasagna, and garlic bread that is making me drool right now. There is so much butter on it, that while I ate it my left arm went numb, and I feared that I had stroked out a little. They have soup and salad that are very average, so skip them and head right to the pasta, it's money.
(5)Kris P.
I had heard that the grilled cheese sandwich with the meat sauce was to die for. Unfortunately, I'll have to die for something else. The mozzarella was stuffed between 2 large slices of their garlic bread. Sounds good, right? But the sandwich was big, bland, and greasy as hell. The only saving grace was the dipping sauce, b/c the meat sauce was actually tasty. We also ordered the lasagna, which came with a sad looking salad and a relatively good soup of the day (corn chowder i think it was?) Lasagna wan't bad, although it was a bit too salty. I could've drank a whole Alhambra jug of water after that dish. As for service...well, don't expect too much. Don't expect the Hostess to greet you right away. She'll make you stand for a few minutes right in front of her, while she slooowly puts away the receipts before she'll finally look up and say "Hi, how many?" Don't expect a server to greet you anytime soon either...even if she sees you while she's passing by to go to another table. She'll just pretend you're not there until she is ready to come back awhile later and get your order. So...yes, Mama Mia's been around forever. I don't care if she's been around the block a few times and has a ton of experience. She's over-hyped. You can get better elsewhere and with better service. Warning: if you're a "Lactard" (aka lactose-intolerant) be aware of any dish with cheese. They load it on, and you will see the toilet more often than you'd like. Don't say I didn't warn you...
