We frequently order here while at work and I'm always pleased with the food. I have never been to the restaurant itself, but the food is very good and well priced too!

They are always friendly. Only did takeout a couple times. Love the fried rice: the bomb! Good variety on the lunch special and good prices as well!

Ok. I like local. I go out of my way to endorse and support local. This place makes it hard to do so. If you look, you will see there are two separate locations listed, one with North Ave, one with North Avenue. One is trying to hide the other. Grabbed this as a backup for a failed home meal. It was in the area. Ordered the most basic of Americanized Chinese food: sweet and sour pork. Result was pre-sauced, huge chunks of gray meat, two small slices of green pepper and a couple chunks of canned pineapple. The breading was thicker than the pork itself. The taste was, well, sugar on meat - far from pleasant. Do not recommend. The failed meal I was trying to replace would have been better.

We ordered the sesame and general tso chicken, crab racoon and fried rice for delivery. They included a free quart of egg drop soup! The chicken dishes were both very good and fresh. The fried rice and crab ragoon were pretty average. Thought it was a bit pricy for Chinese though. .not sure if it was the delivery fee or what

This is my go to Chinese delivery. We've started keeping notes on which items we like because some just aren't worth it. We love the moo shu, szechuan shrimp, and mongolian chicken. Tried the lo mein this last time and it was just meh- not enough veggies. Husband loves the egg rolls here.

For the love of all that is good and holy, do NOT try this place. We live relatively close, and they deliver. So, we thought, why not try it? And, truthfully, the delivery was fast. But, really, how do you screw up egg rolls? I mean, I've eaten from many divey Chinese restaurants, and they all had passable egg rolls. Some shredded vegetables, rolled in a wrap and fried. Yes? But I could not finish mine. None of us could. The moo shu was okay. But our other two dishes were just wretched. And I mean wretched. I hate wasting food as does my husband, but down the drain the leftovers went. Ick. I really feel like I need to write a review since we tried this place based, in part, on yelp reviews. What were the rest of you people thinking?! Or maybe the quality has severely declined since everyone else ate here? In 2013, however, stay far, far away.

Hold up- did I just get punk'd? With a name like Great Taste I thought I couldn't go wrong, I mean the name says it all. Well I should have known when I placed the order and a stoner white dude named Kevin answered the phone that this place might not equal great taste. Then I got my food and man what a disappointment. My egg drop soup looked like orange Hi-C with chunks of toilet paper in it, my chicken broccoli was super salty and the chicken was fatty and very chewy. I don't know how you can screw up an egg roll but this place did, it was all just down right bad. Granted I could have caught them on a bad night but I won't be giving it a second chance. It's kind of like going to a place called Ice Cream to Die For and then being handed a tub a frost bitten Roundy's vanilla-Boo!

Great Taste Chinese Restaurant on 66th and North Avenue, Tosa. After years of this place being pretty consistently good; it has gone from bad to worse. A few months ago, we ordered our usual...but something was off. Dumplings were undercooked and the pork dish wasn't right... Just blew it off as they were really busy or just a fluke. Called to tell them that we thought the dumpling were undercooked and they told us they would give us another batch. However, no one wanted any more Chinese. They just said to mention it when we called in for another order. So, it had been awhile since we ordered take away from here. Actually forgot about the bad dumplings and pork dish. Decided on Chinese Friday night as a treat. Sorry to say that this last order, will be our final time ordering from this restaurant. The pork in the choy suey had a "funny" taste and smelled "rancid". Called to tell owner that the dish was unacceptable and that we were all turned off with the rest of the food. Take out cost us $45+. Husband took back all of the food, with the pork in the chop suey in a special dish for him to check out. He didn't even look at the pork. Just insisted they cut up fresh each day. Aaid we had eaten too much of the food for a refund, ao hw juar refunded us a big 15!! Husband said you just lost a loyal customer. All of us had queasy stomachs the rest of the evening and the next day, we all had the runs!! It will be a long time before we even think about eating Chinese again!! Ugh!!

We placed an order last night for pick up. We had the fried dumplings , egg rolls, house egg foo young , chicken lo mien. This is probably about the 7th time we have ordered food from great taste in the last 3 months. The reason is simple the other 6 times we ordered it was great. This time was no different. The food is always hot and stays that way even when your coming back for seconds . The flavors are alway good and always consistent on items we have ordered in the past. The service is always friendly . If your looking for great take out or delivery for Asian food and you live in the Tosa area this is the place. If your looking for sit down this is probably not your place. It's to small for sit down .

The food at Great Taste is pretty darn great if you are craving chinese food. I appreciate the freshness and the crispyness of the vegetables. The prices are more than fair. There is one young-ish gentleman always working the counter when I or my husband stop there. He is fun to chat with and remembers what we typically order. The decor is pretty typical chinese restaurant that does most of their business by carry-out. There are eight small round tables but wouldn't be a great place to bring a group. There is a golden waving kitty on the counter, if that is a must-have for you. :-)

I live close by so I get take out Chinese food here. The food is really excellent. Friendly people and their food is like their name. Give it a try for excellent take out food. They don't short you on portions and they have reasonable prices.

Nothing spectacular, but definitely better than your average chinese take-out restaurant. I would definitely take out though as the dining room is a bit dingy. I ordered sesame chicken, chicken lo-mein and crab rangoon. The value was great--all were very large portions and they threw in two free egg rolls as well. The chicken pieces were good chucks of chicken and the sesame chicken was not over breaded or served with too much sauce as it often is.

I am a lover of Asian food, esp Chinese. In the Tosa area near me, there are 5 Chinese restaurants - this place has the best food. I've only had the chicken, beef, and tofu dishes (no pork) but all have been good. The people there seem really eager to please. My only complaint is the food is never really spicy. Parking in front. BTW - it's directly across from McD's.

Great Taste? More like Okay Taste. I got take-out from this restaurant and had the sesame chicken, chicken with broccoli, and crab rangoons. The sesame chicken definitely had an undertone of duck flavor and since I'm not a fan of duck, the sesame chicken wasn't quite as good. The chicken with broccoli was covered in a white, creamy sauce that I wasn't accustomed having with this dish and would have preferred the sauce left out of the entree. Crab rangoons are one of my favorite sides to order and these ones were just okay. It is hard to take something that is mostly cream cheese and fried dough and make it taste bad! Egg drop soup was free with the order but it tasted like hot salt water (not as good as hot ham water for any Arrested Development viewers out there). With the other selections for chinese food in the milwaukee area, I don't think I am going back to Great Taste anytime soon.

Pretty cheap and decent chinese food. We ordered it as take away, and they offered us complimentary green tea while we waited.

The food at great Great Taste is awesome. It is so much better than your typical take out Chinese restaurant. The people that work at this place are awesome and there is never a problem changing a dish if you don't like certain things. This is the only place I get take out in Tosa.

Chinese Cuisine

The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.

Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.

There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.
