Let me first state, the pizza was good. Though once you factor in the pricing and service, it makes it a place I won't go back to unless dragged. Our server seemed bothered to take our order. I don't drink, and just had water, my wife had a glass of wine. We ordered the Calamari which was marginal at best, so much so that more than 50% of it was left when we were done.Another server brought the food and our original server never came back - except to bring the bill. Oh yeah, the bill. The Calamari ($9.95) and the "Large" Sausage Pizza was $19.95. The wine was $8 or $9 - I can't remember. Anyway, it was ~$40 (without tip) for a mediocre app., a small or medium at best sized pizza by most standards, and a glass of wine. I am not opposed to spending up for a great meal - this just wan't memorable, especially when you factor in the service. If you need a good pre or post movie spot, there are plenty around like Highland House, Ferrantes & Centennial.

Great service. We love a number of things here and really haven't had anything we did not like. Recommend: Mediterranean pizza, roast turkey & pepperoni melt, lasagna & gold standard dessert. They also have a lot of fun drinks! I could see how people think it could be a little pricy, but we take advantage of the many deals and specials :)

I went here last night with 2 friends before the midnight premier of Hunger Games. Upon sitting down our waitress asked us what we'd like to drink. I ordered a diet pepsi, my friends both got water. I had checked in on foursquare and you get a free cheesy bread so we also ordered that. When the waitress brought the drinks she asked us if we were ready and we ordered a medium pizza to split between us. She seemed totally peeved that a table of three was only getting 1 pizza to split, a free app, and 1 soda. She walked away. Someone else brought our pizza. She came and asked how it was tasting before any of us had even taken a bite and then was gone again. She never came back. The manager (im assuming) came around twice and was VERY friendly. I mean to say he had the best intentions but his comments were over the top. Things like.. "well, I was going to ask you ladies if you like the pizza but WOW, I guess so. You guys are really demolishing it." and then again... "Whoa! you guys finished the whole thing already?" I mean come on, it's a thin crust pizza smaller than a Jack's frozen one, split between three women. WOMEN being the key word here who probably don't want to hear just how ravenously they devoured the pizza they just ordered at 11:00 at night. Our waitress only ever returned to leave the bill. $16. Whoa. For a free appetizer and a very small cheese pizza that seems like a lot. Even after the $3 diet coke I got that was basically all ice. $3 seems like a ton for a restaurant fountain soda, I am pretty sure that's what it costs at six flags. We didn't know how to tip, or who to tip. The waitress didn't do anything for us besides bring the bill and drinks. The host who met us at the door brought us our food. The manager is who we spoke with most and who refilled our drinks. We left the standard 20% but I hope they split tips. The waitress didn't deserve it.

Ordered the calamari- was average but had a pesto dipping sauce instead of the usual butter or white sauce which was different. The panella "salad" i ordered had no lettuce- just tomatoes, cucumbers and bread crumbs which was really odd. Boyfriend ordered the veal ragu and it really looked like it came out of a can. not impressed at all

I have been to zaffiros at least 6 times over the past year with different friends both early and late evening. I have often found it very crowded but have always been treated well with prompt service and good food. Although I like other pizza restaurants in Mequon I think Zaffiro's is by far the best and also has the best space. If you go in the north separate entrance you have no way of knowing that this was associated with a theater. I frankly don't get all of the drama. It is a very good and often very busy local restaurant. If you do not think you are getting the service or quality of food that you deserve, stand up and ask them to replace the salad. It can't be that bad as many of the times I have been there have been more than 10 people waiting for a table. There also can be numerous people who have ordered take out pizza and are eating In the lobby or I have seen it be delivered into a theater. It is a busy loud happy place With good pizza that seems very popular.

Stopped in here after a movie on Saturday around 3:00. We were the only people in the place who were eating. There were a couple guys at the bar who were obviously friends of the bartender and another guy who was standing by a box of Axe cologne samples. O_o Anyway, we ordered a medium pizza, a couple of beers and a side salad. The beer and the salad came out right away and then we waited and waited. I'm not quite sure where our server went off to. Perhaps she got a whiff of that Axe cologne and went on a crazed, lustful spree through the kitchen. Finally, our pizza arrived. First off, I was a little surprised at how small it was. It was no bigger than your average frozen pizza. I'm used to restaurant pizza sizes being a bit bigger on average, so I have to remember to go large next time. By the time we served up squares on our plate, we noticed just how cold the pizza was. It had to have been sitting for 20 minutes. By this time, the waitress was nowhere to be found. I wasn't about to wait another eon for them to heat it up, so I just ate it. The pizza was still good. I really enjoy the cracker-thin crust and the sauce was not too sweet. It was just a bit disappointing to know that it had been sitting there for so long when we were the only people eating. Overall, the food = good. The service = Supreme Allied Commander of fail. Will I be back? Of course, because I like their crust. I know this might not be the 'real' Zaffiro's, but it's the same name and same crust. Despite the bad service on our visit, I'd rather go to this location than fight for parking and wait 2 hours to eat at the Farwell location.

Not a fan... Marginal food and while the prices aren't high, they are higher than they should be. The beauty of the place is that you can eat at the cinema, which is a small win for Zaffiro's. Service was ok... Not sure we will spend the time heading back before a movie. Would rather eat better food for a more reasonable price and then head to the movies. Bummer because it could be so much better.

The pizza is always good if you like thin crust... But come on...way over priced. If you like the pizza visit the original on the east side of Milwaukee. And now for the bitter truth. It was 5pm, we were one of 3 tables. The dining room was an absolute disaster. Again it was 5pm....food was all over floor. Overheard server saying there was nothing prepped for FOH service for the night. The manager standing behind the bar who I caught on his cell phone 3 times and coming out if the kitchen chomping on something twice was not worried in the least...just told her it would get done. 10 minutes later he comes and sits down with a sandwich...again I remind you the dining room is a disaster....another manager sits and chats with him awhile. Bartender standing doing nothing. 2 servers standing doing nothing. Our drinks were never refilled.... Will never come back, which is too bad the pizza is good but combined with price and how they run things would rather order pizza hut carryout

If this were not a convenient option, attached directly to the local movie theater, i don't see how this place would stay in business. Pizza with cracker-thin crust is right, and the crust is nice. The problem, and this goes for not only the pizza, but everything we ordered: grease. Albeit, my party elected to try the 4-cheese pizza and scamorza (a specialized fried cheese dish). We also had a salad, which just like the two other dishes, was dripping in grease (oil from the dressing, really). The pizza is not bad, but it's over-priced bar pizza. Thin-crust, blander sauce, and greasy cheese that has little flavor. With 4 cheeses in which to attempt a cheesy flavor, our pizza had little to none. The crust was very nice, but with the amount of grease from the cheese, was just soggy and kind of pointless. The scamorza is essentially string cheese literally sandwiched in some sort of light bread (not just white sandwich bread), lightly spiced, and served with sauce. Exceptionally greasy, very bland, very little cheese. The spicing is hard to figure out, a cross of stale pepper, fishsticks, a waffle, and funnel cakes. Not offensive, but not worth the calories. The salad was alright, but heavy on the oil, light on the flavor. vegetables were fresh, but drowned in dressing, with bland pepperoni mixed in. Nothing was patently bad, just all around disappointing, not worth the effort, only memorable in that we had a shared experience we'll look back on as a measurement to hold future restaurants against. Not recommended, nothing you can't get countless other places.

Pizza competes with the best in the area. Calamari had a wonderful pesto vinagerette. Had the cheese ravioli with brown butter sauce. Service was good. Large selection of cocktails. Definitely worth a try.

We've been to Zaffiro's many times and I'm a bit conflicted. Usually, the thin crust pizza is very good (but a bit expensive). But, lately, it has been slipping. Overall, a good alternative for Mequon, but this would no longer be on by A-list of pizza places. Service has always been excellent, and it is good for kids. One tip: the pizza does not travel well, so always dine in.

They take reservations which would be good to know if you were trying to also catch a movie which is presumably why you're at a pizza place at a movie theatre anyways. Additionally, if you go up stairs to the lounge area you can order of the Zaffiro's menu which is what we did last night. The pizza is pretty good for milwaukee. I'll never get used to the square cut. Maybe if i asked for a wedge they would do it? Anyways, the crust is flavor less, the cheese is cheap and the sauce is strangely overly herbaceous, but somehow it works okay. The meatball sliders were good, they would have been great if the meatballs weren't cold in the middle.

More clever than good. THis is the place to go before a movie. They were about half full when we went and the food was good, service was okay, and the prices were not that bad. Plus when you're done you can walk right into the theater lobby. Nice.

I wish this place was listed twice: once as a delivery joint and once as a sit-down restaurant. I'd give the delivery place a 4 star rating - the pizza is delicious. Now about the sit-down restaurant... This review is based on the THIRD time I ate at the restaurant. The first two times were shortly after the location opened and I thought the service was still learning their jobs... apparently not. 1) Arrived on 6/25 after a fun viewing of a movie with my 2 kids, spirits high. 2) seated efficiently by a well dressed and groomed hostess - so good so far. 3) The waitress greeted us and asked for our drink orders, my beer was delivered without a beer glass with a "here ya' go". 4) The waitress took our order. Kid's meals - more than $7.00 each!? REALLY? Ordered Salad $8.00. 12" pizza $15.00 5) Now the service and food really falls apart. The SALAD was delivered. If I had to guess, it looked like the server dipped the ladle in the salad dressing and only skimmed off the vegetable oil. There was no spice or herbs, and definitely no vinegar - it was simply iceberg lettuce with oil on it. I asked the manager if this was correct and she was combative with me, stating that it was an old Italian recipe for salad dressing. She apologized and said she would take the cost of the salad off of the bill - SHE NEVER DID! 6) A couple of buffoons from the kitchen delivered the food. They asked where all of the food went (this is a pet peeve of mine - whatever happened to great service!?). They quickly left the table without providing us with plates for the pizza. 7) The PIZZA was great. Totally delicious. Way overpriced, but great. 8) The child's MAC AND CHEESE we ordered for one of our sons appeared to be chock full of Parmesan. While I thought it was pretty tasty, my son didn't. (But seriously - $7.00 for a teeny tiny little mac and cheese entree for kids!? Seriously?) 9) Unfortunately , the server NEVER CAME BACK to check on our meal. We were unable to ask for another entree for the boy. Moreover, none of us were ever able to get new beverages - a missed opportunity for another round of drinks lost. 10) Someone turned the Brewer's game off during the middle of the game and switched it to major league soccer. Why? 11) When the server FINALLY came back to drop off the bill, we asked her to box the uneaten Mac and Cheese - SHE NEVER DID! She simply took it and never returned. 12) The bill charged us for both the oil salad and for the kid's Mac and Cheese that was neither eaten nor boxed per our request. In my mind, that beyond horrible service and tantamount to theft. As Josh H mentioned in his review on 7/26/2009, if this place were not directly attached to the theater, I don't see how it would stay in business. Absolutely horrible service, bad management, and extremely high prices just don't make up for a cracker thin, pizza (which was quite delicious, by the way). I'm putting this place on a 6 month suspension and I'll need confirmation that they cleaned up their service, and management gets their staff trained up on customer service and food preparation before I go back.

Unless going to a movie, which I rarely do - this place is just in an odd location. Attached to a cinema, the resturant has good food at a decent price. It just isn't very romantic/fun/normal to eat at a restaurant attached to the cinema. I probably will not go back.

I had to try this place based on all the great pizza hype from the other Zaffiro's located in MKE. I am underwhelmed by the pizza. I went to the Zaffiro's at the new location which is located in the North Shore Cinema Movie Theater. We were initially greeted promptly and seated however, it was awhile before the waitress approached and brought menus and drinks. The waitress was not very knowledgeable about the menu and the salad I had (Panzanella) was essentially veggies soaking in an olive oil/balsamic bath (the supposed basil and taste of actual veggies was lost in the overall strong vinegar taste). I could not eat anymore of the salad and had it taken away. Rather than compensate in another way (i.e. exchange for another salad, credit the charge, etc.) the waitress merely stated she would pass along my comments to the kitchen. The pizza itself was over cooked (I'm sorry but a black crust does not cut it for me). The sauce was bland as well. I've had various types of pizzas after living in many states and this just did not justify the rave reviews of the pizza IMO. I suppose if one had to compare to Pizza Hut than yes it is better than Pizza Hut but certainly a frozen Home Run tastes better than this. I think for pizza in this area the Calderone does a much better pizza (and certainly better customer service) than this place. Will not be back and would not recommend.

A little pricey but I have to say that the pizza is a very tasty thin crust. This is tied to one of the better theatres north of Mayfair. They have a party room on the 2nd floor with a full service bar. It's like a little oasis in the middle of a movie theatre. Great serice and would make a good date spot.

For "fast" sit down pizza this is good. Maybe something happens in all the hustle and bustle to get the pizzas out before you see your movie, but this location tastes uniquely better compared to the original location on Brady Street. Because the pizza is so thin, a large feeds about 2 to 3 people. I wish I could elaborate more but we really only have had pizza at this location before going to a movie. And have not ventured out to try additional items from the menu

Delicious pizza and a great spot for a pre-dinner movie! Especially come Tuesday's where you can get a SUPER awesome deal. They have a medium pizza for $7 and 2 medium pizzas for $11. With all movies for $5 on Tuesdays - you really can't get a better date night! Just note, because the pizza has a very thin crust, a medium could easily serve 1 person. If you are going with 2+ people, consider the 2 pizza deal. If you do decide to go on a Tuesday, I recommend getting there early - they are bumpin! However, your pizza does come out pretty quick. I haven't really branched out from their amazingly thin pizza. They do, however, serve complimentary chips when you sit down. They almost seem like homemade potato chips - I'm not really sure beyond that. The server has never really said anything on exactly what they are. Wait staff is fine - nothing to rave about. But nothing to complain about either. The pizza is good. However, I will state that I think their pizza from their Farwell (downtown) location is even better!

I felt the food was overpriced and not so good. I did not get pizza, which I've had before and is good. Tonight I tried the grilled cheese and bacon sandwich, it was mediocre and cost over $10. Two of my friends tried the four cheese ravioli BLT and felt it was over priced. It was convenient, but if I go back it will only be for the pizza, maybe.

There's a location on Milwaukee's East Side but I've never been there. This location is inside the Marcus North Shore movie theater and is a great place to get a bite to eat or something to drink before/after catching a show. The pizza is fine by my standards because I just like your standard pepperoni topping (others who understand pizza better can critique what Zaffiro's offers). The pizza sauce is not too overwhelming, which is good because the crust is very thin. My son is a picky eater but he really enjoyed the chicken fingers and mozzarella sticks. Nothing stands outs so much that you would yearn to have it again the next day but a solid stop to fill up before a movie with the family.

Five stars for the pizza (if you can get it) however, the hostesses Tuedsay were inexperienced and rude. I checked with them three times to make sure they had actually taken my order because they never gave me a receipt or took my name for a to go pizza. They brushed me off until finally they admitted they had not even made my pizza and could not find my receipt even though I paid with my credit card. By this point my movie had started and they offers to deliver my pizza to my seat. The pizza they brought was wrong so the manager reluctantly provided me a gift card for the amount I was charged as I couldn't receive an actual refund because I didn't have a receipt because the hostess never gave me one when I ordered the pizza. Don't come here for pizza before your movie on Tuesday nights. They can't handle the volume.

I have not frequented Zaffiro's in the North Shore Cinema in years despite the fact that I go to see a movie there at least once a week. This was due to their terrible "veal" dishes in brown butter that were on the menu years ago which tasted like eating grit. I also objected to their $3 sodas for children as young as 3 with no smaller option. This week I decided to use my soon to expire $5 food coupons on carry out. On one visit I got a medium pizza which as burnt all around the edge (I mean absolutely black, not browned). They did remake it but there was little to no cheese on the pizza. On the next visit I ordered the meatball torpedo. The fries were inedible and I threw them away. The sandwich was somewhat better but I never would order it again. Nor will I return to Zaffiro's.

My boyfriend and I stopped in before seeing a movie and had the most amazing drinks!!! Our bartender, Brandon, was excellent. He made *the best* mojito, I highly recommend requesting it extra minty. I also had a caramel appletini - it was to die for!! The drinks are a little pricey but definitely worth it. I enjoyed the casual, relaxing atmosphere. They also had an iPad you could play with at the bar. If you do stop in, if only for a drink, be sure to ask for the "bar chips." They are the complementary homemade crispy potato chips and will most certainly curb your munchie cravings. We did not try any of the food but it looked and smelled delicious. Especially the cookie ice cream sandwich that walked by me. We will definitely be dining here prior to our next movie date.

If you don't like cheese on your pizza then Zaffiro's is for you. We ordered a large pizza with 5 toppings, total of $21 plus drinks. The cost of $21 for a very thin crust is high, but we usually find it is worth it at Zaffiro's because historically their thin crust pizza is the best anywhere. However, today this pizza barely had any cheese. About 1/4 of the pizza actually had NO cheese on it. The flavor overall was classic Zaffiro's, with a zesty and flavorful sauce, fresh ingredients, and an amazing crust. However, pizza should have cheese, and a $21 pizza should have lots of cheese. We inquired with our server, who admitted the restaurant had instituted new proportion requirements for toppings to control costs. He advised us that next time we should order extra cheese if we want our pizza to have a normal amount of cheese. Clearly this is unacceptable, and I hope restaurant management re-evaluates their decision, because they will lose repeat customers.

Wonderful thin crust Pizza! GREAT service! My family loves the Mediterranean style pizza with the Kitchen Sink salad. We could walk to this place from the house if we had to so we have been here more than 10 times and each time the service was consistent. ANY TIME something wasn't what we expected we brought it to the attention of the wait staff and a replacement was given to us or a credit on the bill. They were always fair. I ordered pizzas (16 of them) for a party along with the Kitchen sink salad. The only pizza that was not eaten entirely was the one with the anchovies and there was nothing left of that delicious salad. Zaffiro's is an institution in Milwaukee. They have had a place on the East side of Milwaukee for many years and often it is stanidng room only on a Friday or Saturday night. They know how to do it right.

Pizza

Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country. While the base and the texture of Pizza remains same across the globe, it's the toppings that differs from country to country. In the United States, you will find the top pizzerias serving pizzas with the toppings of mainly beef, bacon, chicken, ham, and sausage for the non-vegetarians. Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.

Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Pizza is hot favorite among people of all ages in the United States. A large size pizza is enough to feed a family of 3 or 4 at large. Pizza is also the most preferred food whenever a group of friends is hanging out together. Pizza gained popularity in the United States after the American soldiers stationed in Italy returned from World War II.

Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations. Pizza gained popularity as the iconic dish in the United States in the second half of the 20th century. Whether you prefer thin or thick crust pizza, you can find a pizza of your preference at the best pizza restaurants in your city.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
